I chose the second option from Theme which was researching a famous individual (political, historical, or otherwise influential) whose experiences and lives reflects the essential themes of the novel.
The famous influential individual I would like to compare with the themes of The Kite Runner is Steve Jobs. Steve Jobs was the co-founder and former CEO of both Apple and Pixar. He also started up NeXT Computer. He introduced revolutionary technological tools like iMac, iPod, iTunes, iPhone, and iPad.
As noted above, Steve Jobs was the co-founder of Apple. Shockingly, he was fired from his own company. His idea of introducing the second-generation Mac, the Macintosh Office didn’t get much appreciation. That product was launched in 1985, and

Moreover, he believed the failure of Macintosh Office had to do with pricing and advertising. He shared the idea of shifting a huge portion of advertising from Apple 2 over to the Mac. The former Apple CEO John Sculley could see the risk in it. Obviously, Macintosh Office couldn’t sell, and Jobs’ stubbornness would harm Apple which was already well established. Although John Sculley explained Jobs that his idea wouldn’t work, Jobs was extremely confident about his idea. Consequently, he misbehaved with Sculley. Sculley went to the board, and reported against Steve Jobs. Ultimately, board agreed with Sculley, and Jobs was fired.
This part of Steve Jobs’ life is comparable to the theme of betrayal in kite runner. In the novel, the main character Amir took part in a kite tournament which

Next computers experienced relatively limited sales, with estimates of about 50,000 units shipped in total. Obviously, this was not the end of Steve Jobs. He started to regain his position to the business industry by introducing Pixar with animation toy story which was a massive hit. Then he went back to Apple in August of 1997 and sold Next to Apple. Apple also wanted Jobs back since the company was operating at a loss. Hence, the board members decided to bring him back, and he became the CEO of Apple. Then he revolutionized technology by introducing iMac, iPod, iTunes, iPhone, and iPad. In 2005, Steve Jobs’ gave a commencement address to Stanford University which became one of the most famous and inspirational speech all over the world. In that speech, he made a quote and said, “I didn’t see it then, but it turned out that getting fired from Apple was the best thing that could have ever happened to me. The heaviness of being successful was replaced by the lightness of being a beginner again, less sure about everything. It freed me to enter one of the most creative periods of my life.” To put it another way, Jobs believed failing was the only way to do something great, and he proved what he said by redeeming
Kite Runner depicts the story of Amir, a boy living in Afghanistan, and his journey throughout life. He experiences periods of happiness, sorrow, and confusion as he matures. Amir is shocked by atrocities and blessed by beneficial relationships both in his homeland and the United States. Reviewers have chosen sides and waged a war of words against one another over the notoriety of the book. Many critics of Kite Runner, by Khaled Hosseini, argue that the novel would not have reached a lofty level of success if the U.S. had not had recent dealings with the Middle East, yet other critics accurately relate the novel’s success to its internal aspects.
In conclusion, The Kite Runner is a hybrid of an epic and tragic structure. I found evidence from my articles, Aristotle’s, and Foster’s that it was a Hero’s Journey with a tragic character, Amir shared both traits throughout the story.
In conclusion irony, symbolism, and foreshadowing contribute to the omnipresent theme of redemption throughout The Kite Runner. Khaled Hosseini ties together seemingly unimportant details of the story to create irony, and juxtaposes segments of his book to show redemption.
The movie The Kite Runner is based on the book and it contains both subtle and explicit differences as all books and movies do. Both the book and the movie have very compelling and moralistic themes though at times the movie’s themes seem limited. The themes presented throughout the movie and the book are penance, loyalty, prejudice, religion and growing up. The characterization, overall plot of the movie and the setting of the book seem to be consistent with each other though at times they both may vary both slightly and drastically.
Everything in his life has been earned, not given, unlike Amir. Hassan’s substantial work ranges from cleaning the house, buying groceries, and washing clothes, to working rigorously for those he truly cares about. The understanding of what it means to do something for others instead of personal benefit, and the ability to suffer in silence is what truly distinguishes Hassan from Amir. Despite their age, the only similarities the boys share is that they both have grown up without the presence of a mother. Hassan’s ability to aid others proves useful when him and Amir enter a kite flying contest in an attempt to win Baba’s love. Hassan and Amir win the contest, but when Hassan tracks down the kite that was defeated by Amir so he could show it to Baba, he is trapped by Assaf and other boys who want revenge on Hassan and Amir. When Amir finds Hassan surrounded by the boys in the alley, his initial instinct was not to save his friend Hassan; however, he thought only about the kite which he described as the key to his father's heart. As Hassan is defending Amir to the boys, despite his own predicament, Assaf asks Hassan, “But before you sacrifice yourself for him, think about this; Would he do the same for you? Have you ever wondered why he never includes you in games when he has guests? Why he only plays with you when no one else is around?” (72). Hassan
The hardships that life reveals can either affect a person in a negative or positive way. They can strengthen or weaken the development of one’s character. Khaled Hosseni’s The Kite Runner is a novel that tells the story of two boys – Amir and Hassan, his childhood friend and servant– who spend their lives attempting to overcome their obstacles. These obstacles create experiences that will shape them for the rest of their lives. Firstly, Hassan and Amir share similar hardships, however Hassan learns and grows from them, and Amir lingers over the negativity, allowing it to destroy his life instead of moving forward. Secondly, Amir is always rescued, which allows him to feel a sense of entitlement, while Hassan fights his own battles, resulting in a greater amount of inner strength. Lastly, as Amir and Hassan become adults in opposite ends of the world, they battle hardships that are very different. The differences within their adulthood continue to show who is the more honourable character. Ultimately, in Khaled Hosseni's The Kite Runner, Hassan is a stronger character than Amir, despite the fact that they both battle similar hardships.
The world-renowned novel, The Kite Runner, was written by Afghanistan-born American novelist Khaled Hosseini. Hosseini was born into a Shia Muslim family in Kabul. Later in life, he decided to move to Paris. Hosseini was unable to return to Kabul due to the Taliban take over, this caused the Hosseini family to seek political asylum in America. The actions that Hosseini witnessed in his beloved home country influenced his novel with the themes of guilt and redemption.
Steve Jobs delivered and extremely informative commencement speech at Stanford in 2005. He presented three very effective points about what he went through in life. Steve Jobs first talks about connecting the dots. He says something like “ you can't connecting dots looking forward you can only connect them looking backwards” with that quote one can understand that you have to trust that something is going to happen in life and hope for the best. Then he goes on and talks about love and lost he lets the graduates know that sometimes life hits you in the head with a brick,Don't lose faith. On this quote he lets the graduates of Stanford know that life is going to be hard not everything in going to come easy in life. We are going to make mistakes but we need to understand that we can Lear from them. Lastly,Steve Jobs believes that
Betrayal, redemption, and forgiveness are all major themes in The Kite Runner written by Khaled Hosseini. The novel also focuses around the theme of a broken relationship between father and son as well as facing difficult situations from ones past. Amir and Hassan are best friends with two completely different personalities. Each character in the novel faces their own hardships and eventually learns to overcome those difficulties. Beginning with betrayal then the characters have to make their way to gaining redemption and forgiveness from others, as well as their self, is carried on throughout the novel. It is a continuous story of the relationships between Amir and his father Baba and facing their challenges from the past every day of their present.
The themes of the loss of innocence and redemption is used throughout the novel The Kite Runner to make a point that one can lose innocence but never redeem it. Once innocence is lost it takes a part of oneself that can never be brought back from oblivion. One can try an entire life to redeem oneself but the part that is loss is permanently gone although the ache of it can be dampened with the passing of time and acts of attempted redemption. Khaled Hosseini uses characters, situations, and many different archetypes to make this point.
It was Steve Jobs who made Apple leave the garage and make leaps and bounds in the world of technology. Steve Wozniak made the first prototype, but it was Jobs who “saw the potential” in his computer and persuaded Wozniak to sell it (Peterson 106). Even though that first computer saw very little success, Jobs knew that Apple had potential and so released the Apple II. From the beginning Jobs knew what the consumers wanted, and where computers were going to take the world; he had a vision of the opportunities in technology and saw that Apple needed to move in a different direction. In 1984, one year before he left, Jobs finished the Macintosh computer system. He was pushed from his original computer design project, “the Lisa”, and then raced to release the Mac first, but the Lisa was released to the public first. Although the Lisa came out first, the Mac “[became] synonymous with Apple, mark[ing] a…revolution in…personal computing,” (Peterson 106).
Through the themes on the novels, articles and books we can discover many problems and try to solve it. The author of The Kite Runner illustrates many important themes. He explains how the parents effect on their children. How our culture, beliefs, and religion effect on our personalities and on our way of treat the people around us. Also, he tells us about the importance of our friends and our families because they stay by our side in the hard time. Also, trough his writing he teaches us the importance of love and forgive the people, who we
Khaled Hosseini never consistited of talking about any religion, but in a way, it plays a big role in the
