Basketball is played during the winter seasons, November-January. It starts a little before winter, but the weather always makes it seem like it is winter in November. It can also be played in the summer time. Most high school teams play summer league games. Those games go almost all summer therefore some kids do not have a summer break really. Even fall leagues can be played for those not in any other sport. Those players in another sport manage to play two at the same time. Soccer is different it is mainly during the spring season. It starts in late March and goes through the beginning of June. Soccer players have a longer summer than basketball players. Players can play during the summer, but it is usually closer to fall when one starts playing again. It is also played in the winter like basketball except does not go as long. Then the game which was close to what soccer is today, became banned since it was violent. Basketball was first played as a game with two soccer balls and peach baskets nailed to a wall 10ft in the air. In 1620 in North America, Native American played pasuckuakohowog, meaning "they gather to play ball with the foot." Basketball was played from only 13 rules; it had to be stopped every time a basket was made to get the ball down. Soccer was changing to create a better way over the years; rules were added so it is safe to play in modern time. Basketball is the same way safe to play these days. The sports both started off as one game and became different after rules were applied. Concluding, soccer and basketball are both huge played sports. How they are played, what time of the year they are played, and the origin are ways to compare and contrast the two sports. People see basketball and soccer as two different sports not having any similarities. Both sports are very competitive to people; you can go to the olympics and even beyond that. Of course there are steps before going to the top levels.
there are many things you can compare and contrast between the superbowl and the NBA finals their are many things you can compare between these two,the superbowl is better for a lot of things, Halftime, also the team winning the trophy , like the Denver Broncos and the New England patriots. Dont forget about the roaring fans in the superbowl, they get louder and louder and go home with sore throats. NBA finals, their are some good teams also good players which ever you consider best. NBA finals fans are alright, they only get crazy in the fourth quarter because thats when the players really put in effort. why wait until the last twelve minutes to really start playing.
College and NBA basketball aren’t that different they have many similarities and many differences. The main difference is that College has halves and NBA has quarters, The Shot clock is different too. College is 35 seconds and NBA is 24 seconds , The shooting distance is different from the 3pt line. In college you only get 5 fouls before you foul out and in the NBA you get 6. In my opinion College basketball is way more competitive and way more emotional than the NBA.
From the United States to Hispanic countries like Spain, the countries share their love for the same sports even though they are oceans apart. While they have their similar interests, sports interests differ in each of the countries as well. Without sports in the world, our cultures we know and love would be completely different and dull. They help shape our cultures and the people within them. Sports like soccer, football, and baseball are sports that we know and love in Hispanic and American countries. We all know what they are, but the way they are played, their histories, and our passions for these sports differ and correspond.
Since its creation in 1893, the sport of basketball has been one of the most popular sports in the United States. One wouldn’t have to search long to find a basketball court and a pickup game in most American cities. Many people around the world look up to the stars of the National Basketball Association as role models.
Sports bring friends, family and our country together more so than political debates or even church on Sunday. Whether it be football, basketball, baseball or everything in between everyone has their favorite team that they cheer for regardless if they are the shits or number one. Americans will have gatherings of their friends every week of the season to watch games and “support” their teams from hundreds of miles away. Sports have an enormous impact on our society in every way shape and form, whether it is kids pretending to be their favorite super star while playing in the yard or it is co-workers participating in fantasy sports or making March Madness brackets, but which is the most entertaining, is it the professionals that are paid millions of dollars to play or college kids struggling to get by while trying to earn an education?
Backstory of Basketball Basketball has been played since 1891, and still continues to be played today as well. Basketball is an intriguing game played by 2 teams with 5 players from each team on the court at the same time. Basketball, as it started out in 1891 had no African American athletes in the sport. That was still going on, even as late as the 1950’s.
Both sports have similarities such as, they both have coaches, a referees, assistant referees/lines men. They both contact sports, each team has 11 players, they both outdoor sports played on a rectangular field on grass, each team has to pass the ball towards the opposite direct till a goal is scored and there are no limit to goals. Last but not the least both sports have offensive, defensive and goalkeeper.
Athletes who play football share the same goal as athletes who play soccer: score the most goals to win the game. In football, there are two areas on opposite sides of the field where one can score points by bringing the football over the goal line. Soccer shares this same concept by having two nets on opposite sides of the field where one can score a point by kicking the soccer ball into the net. Also, both sports share the concept of having an offense and defense, and both sports each have eleven players on a team on the field at a time. These are only few of many similarities between these two sports, but in actuality, they are significantly different. The rules, rituals, and concepts of both sports distinguish themselves from each other.
Indoor soccer began in 1939, was formed by Major Indoor Soccer League, it started so people could play during the winter months. The North American Soccer League had its own indoor league from 1979-1984. Some of the differences from outdoor soccer are: there were only five players on the field and the goalkeeper, the goals are smaller, and the field is smaller. The field is like a hockey rink with astro-turf field surrounded with Plexiglas. The soccer goals are also built into the wall. This is a very fast paced game with four periods of 15 minutes each.
They have to use their hips and elbows and legs to control the ball to go into the hoops. Most of the religions only allowed two to three people on the court for each team and they could only be males. The sport was too rough for women to be playing. In fact, players often wore helmets, kneepads, elbow pads, chest protectors and gloves. Only the goalie in soccer of modern day sports has to wear gloves and that’s not really for protection. Football players have to wear pads but our football is about half the size of the ball they are using. The ball can range anywhere from ten to thirty centimeters in diameter and can weigh anywhere between five hundred grams to three and a half kilograms. The major differences in these two sports is the losers were killed and if they were decapitated the skulls were put on display in a cabinet beside the court. If the losers were not killed, they were tied up like a ball and pushed down a flight of stairs. Also the article said that warriors and captives were often forced to play the

They both run over 4 miles every game they play. As you can see, since they run a lot they would probably have to use a lot of skill to keep up the running as they go. They both use very complicated skills in order to get [past the defensive team and to be able to score. In conclusion, Soccer and lacrosse are actually very similar to each other and probably the most similar over any sport you can think of.

Basketball a sport that is played throughout the whole world. When playing this sport all you need is a ball and basket. Though the basket does have to be a certain height kids play it in their classroom or outside. What I mean by this is that kids and even adults in the office treat a trash can as a basket and whatever their trash is as a ball. I got interested in this sport when I was in middle school in eighth grade moving on to high school. I was never interested in basketball until I played it with a group of kids who today are still my friends.
