“The Black Minister” by Nathaniel Hawthorne about a church clergyman name Mr. Hooper that was judge by his appearance and dark sins by wearing his black veil. “ Sinners” written by Jonathan Edwards. A story most related to the “Black Veil” which explained more detail why you should repent your sins and forgiveness. How emotional and enthusiastic the story was told was a very strong message.
The book of “Sinners” is a story that is trying to tell the audience to not not test or fool with god sins, or he will dempt you to hell. “ if you don't repent your sins you will be dempt to hell.” stated in the quote. How these two stories compare? The “Black Veil” also gave its similar point across. The dreadful, monotone, preacher with no hope. He wouldn't dare in the world to take his veil off, he refuse to not listen what others say. Quoted “ my soul feels like a lock up prison” represents how the story of “sinners” you will be dempt to hell, and Mr.Hooper's mood now is he feels like his soul is lock up in a prison which can relate to hell. …show more content…

The book of “sinners” written with more powerful words, very enthusiastics, joy, full of anger and determine. Jonathan Edwards sounded more exciting but very fierce with his words, at the same time he was getting his point across. His story is why more effective and went straight foward to the point. Uses figurative language evidence. “ furnace of wrath a wide bottomless pit full of the fire wrath that you are held over by god hand.” the wrath is symbolise by gods hand on the other hand while the pit full of fire is symbolised of hell. The book of “Black Veil’ was more slow, gloomy,dreadful tone of the story. Nathaniel Hawthorne did not give a lot of evidence on saying why Mr.Hooper's wanted to repent his sins or ask for
