Jerry Lee Lewis’ mother once said, “Well, you and Elvis are pretty good, but you're no Chuck Berry.” Chuck Berry is considered to be the true king of Rock and Roll. By using Boogie-Woogie piano patterns to change them into electric guitar, Berry invented a particular style with his electrifying guitar that has become the guide for rock and roll guitar and music as well. He was not only a good guitarist, but a memorable singer, that blended melodic hooks, distinctive patterns in his rhythm and used meaningful lyrics that have made many people call first great poet of rock. Berry’s influence on Rock and Roll not only impacted the way how it would sound, but also how it was perceived by all races.
More than any other rapper, Dr. Dre was responsible for moving away from the avant-noise and political stance of Public Enemy and Boogie Down Productions, as well as the party vibes of old school rap. Instead, Dre pioneered gangsta rap and his own variation of the sound, G-Funk. BDP's early albums were hardcore but cautionary tales of the criminal mind, but Dre's records with N.W.A. celebrated the hedonistic, amoralistic side of gang life. Dre was never much of a rapper -- his rhymes were simple and his delivery was slow and clumsy -- but as a producer, he was extraordinary.
His music is very genuine and original, he tells stories through his lyrics. His songs revolve around love stories, police brutality, social media, and motivation. Growing up African American he understands the struggles and the economic disparities we go against everyday. His positivity toward imperfections amazes me. All the money that he has he spends it wisely he doesn't believe in fixing certain physical traits that makes him feel like him. In his song “Crooked Smile” he mentions he wont fix his teeth just because he has money.

Rap music was first a cross-cultural product. Most of its important early practitioners, Kool Herc, DJ Hollywood, and Afrika Bambaataa, were either first- or second-generation Americans of Caribbean background. Kool Herc and DJ Hollywood are given credit for introducing the Jamaican style of cutting and mixing into the musical culture of the South Bronx. Herc was the first DJ to buy two copies of the same record for just a 15-second break (instrumental segment) in the middle. By mixing back and forth between the two copies he was able to double, triple, or endlessly extend the break.

With Young’s massive influence in the Hip-Hop industry as an artist and as a producer he has become one of the major faces of the industry. Some believe that his influence on culture has even reached Shakespearean heights. Although many would dismiss this comparison, there are actually some similarities between the two icons. However, much unlike the bard, it can be argued that Young has negatively used his influence and has spread the wrong messages to society.
In today’s modern world the DJ has become a musician; the turntable, his instrument. It took fifteen years for this amazing resolution. DJ's have actually been around for years; mixing and scratching however, it did not come along until the late 70's or early 80's (“Disc Jockey 1”). A lot of people were doing this. But the main front line man was and still is Granmasterflash. Granmasterflash, one of hip-hop's founding fathers and the creator of the Quick Mix. He was the first person to change the arrangements of songs by using duplicate copies of records and manually editing/repeating the climatic part by rubbing the record back and forth (“Grandmaster Flash”). But now the DJ has changed. The kinds of DJ’s are different, the equipment is different, and the scratching is different.
