For years i’ve always been inspired by lyrical artists and their passion for telling stories. There are so many different genres of music but my favorite is hip hop. My favorite artist is J.Cole, Jermaine Lamarr Cole, an American Hip Hop artist from Fayetteville, North Carolina. J. Cole has been active in the music industry since 2007 when his first mixtape was released. He soon signed to Roc Nation with successful entrepreneur, rapper, and producer, Jay Z in 2009. Cole has three mixtapes and three albums in his music career along with many features and singles. His music is very genuine and original, he tells stories through his lyrics. His songs revolve around love stories, police brutality, social media, and motivation. Growing up African American he understands the struggles and the economic disparities we go against everyday. His positivity toward imperfections amazes me. All the money that he has he spends it wisely he doesn't believe in fixing certain physical traits that makes him feel like him. In his song “Crooked Smile” he mentions he wont fix his teeth just because he has money. “ They tell me I should fix my grill cause I got money now I ain't gon' sit around and front like I ain't thought about it A perfect smile is more appealing but it's funny how My shit is crooked look at how far I done got without it I keep my twisted …show more content…
grill, just to show the kids it's real We ain't picture perfect but we worth the picture still“. -J.Cole Crooked Smile Verse Im working on being humble to see change in myself and he's teaching me that through his songs.
In a world where people are so selfish he is selfless, doing what he can to change the world day by day. The house he grew up in was foreclosed because his mother couldn't afford it then, a few years back he bought the house and is renting to mothers and their children if they have nowhere to live, rent free. All he wants to do is spread love. We live in a world full of demons he gives me some comfort because he doesn't only care for himself but others. He's a role model and a mentor, teaching me that the world is mine if i own
it. My favorite song by J.Cole from his last album “Forest Hills Drive” is the song “Love Yourz”. The meaning behind that song is basically appreciate what you have because things could be much worse, embrace the people around you and take advantage of all opportunities. “The artist Captain says that the song is a reflection of him realizing that material things would not bring him true happiness, which is he thought was possible in his younger years.” -Tanay Hudson AllHipHop.Com. Cole also has many influences: Nas, Tupac, and Eminem, he feels as though he wouldn't be successful without following in the footsteps of those other artists. I’m not into music that degrades females I love music that uplifts people of cultural diversity because i feel like everything else we stand for in today’s society is negative. Black on black crime needs to be stopped and in a musical world J.Cole delivers that. If he were an activist of our rights and not a rapper of rights he’d be another martin luther king. I see change coming soon along with people who support him. Sometimes i sit and listen to his music and it makes me wanna cry. He changes lives one day at a time his song “lost ones” he prevented a suicide. We need more hip hop artists like him in this world today.
The genre of rap and hip-hop music has taken on a whole new persona in the generation of millennials. Fortunately, there are rappers such as Jermaine Cole, or “J Cole”, who work to hold on to a pure form of hip-hop and strive to portray a message in all of their songs. J Cole is a southern rapper with a northern style and flow. His main messages in all of his music is to speak the truth about his life and the world around him. You can listen to all his songs from the start of his career to now and you could understand who he is as and essentially listen to his growth as person. His song entitled “January 28th” is no exception to transparent style. The theme of the songs is to let his audience know that he extraordinary and he gives pieces
Well, he shows you do not have to be the smartest person to be successful and that never to give up on what you’re after. For example, he puts parts of his personal life into his music to show that just because he has fame and fortune that doesn’t mean he’s like any other human being. He sings and raps about love, passion, and loss. For one in his song “Hotline Bling” from his album “Views,” shows a loss of a friend, or maybe a lover and how things change and one you stop trying to make the relationship work, but turns out into just being “you used to.”
Of course, everyone has their own opinion but I think J Cole is one of the best hip-hop artist because he makes great music. J Cole has 3 platinum albums and one of his albums 2014 Forest Hills Drive went double platinum. He also has many singles that has peaked at number one on billboard charts and other charts around the world. J Cole also produces his own albums and albums for other hip hop artists. He is involved in every aspect of his music from the beginning to the end. J Cole's music is also very relatable to many people who have been in the same situations. He raps about many life situations and a few that stuck out to me are paying back student loans, pressure of virginity while in
It takes a long time to get to the top but he did it in no time at all.I chose Joe Louis because of what he did. I chose him because he is cool and did a lot of cool stuff. Now let's get in there. He started boxing in the 1930s there were no other African-Americans in the positions of public prominence. He was the first African-American to achieve hero worship that was reserved by whites only. He had a good run with his early life, late life and death.
Soulja Boy got some more beef, first it was the Migos, Quavo, and then 50 cent. Now I know you've heard about the beef with Soulja Boy and Chris Brown! You probably seen vidoes of Chris Brown or Soulja argung on the gram. Bet you don't know how everything started though. This all started with Soulja Boy not minding his business. Soulja made a video talking bout Chris commenting on Karrueche's picture, he was flirting. To be honest what's the problem, it's a comment and Karrueche is Chris's ex? And plus why would Soulja Boy come after Chris cause he had shots to throw right back. Soulja Boy got arrested for gun charges, but the charges got dropped within 24 hours. People are either saying the guns was fake and he a fake thug or he snitched on
SOT: The African-American community is Tulsa was relatively prosperous despite the prevailing racism of the time.
Has anyone ever wondered why, what made the tough Joe Louis join the sport of boxing? Before Louis held the heavyweight title for almost 12 years, Louis only had little schooling because his mother noticed he wasn’t strong at it, so she wanted him to have a musical career and had him play the violin. One day during his violin lesson, a friend of his recommended him to try out the sport of boxing because he was so muscular and tall. Ever since that day Louis hid his boxing gloves in his violin case; spending his afternoons in the gym rather than practicing the violin and became the great man he is today. Joe Louis is a rebel because he has improved the culture for all Americans and shaped their independence and character.
Cole’s musical idols, which greatly influenced his musical style. His style captures the attention from younger generations and the adolescent population, whom also came from an uneasy childhood and along the way lost motivation. “I 'm here to spread a message of hope. Follow your heart. Don 't follow what you 've been told you 're supposed to do.” (Music times, 2014) Through this message, J. Cole constantly portrays to be an ambition seeking activist. He hopes to project hope in those who are struggling by sharing his life challenges and voicing how he overcame
From the ground up, from slanging dope to make it on forbes having millions of dollars in the bank .Jay-z didn't have the greatest upcoming but he made the best out of what he could do and went above and beyond what people thought he deserves to be acclaimed and became entrepreneur ,a rapper and a altogether mogul Furthermore. I think jay-z is rare story that why i choose him, for this assignment you had to pick someone who made a difference and i'm arguing and researching why jay-z shoulds be that someone using his early life, how hip hop made a effect on him, his later life and how he made a difference then ordinarily .Explain the thesis that i have and how it's proved to be legit the thesis is “ Corey Carter or jay-z has made a difference in this world due to his music the way he present himself as a music mogul”.
Jermaine Cole, otherwise known as J. Cole, is an American hip hop artist based out of New York City. Earlier in his career his music was notorious for having a gangster sound to it due to the lyrics and beats that the songs possessed. Though in his most recent albums Cole’s sound began to change drastically. It was seen a tiny bit in his earlier album ”2014 Forest Hills Drive”, but when “4 Your Eyes Only” dropped, his most recent album, listeners were able to see an entirely different side of him. Cole speaks deeply about the issues of racism and oppression in black community’s around the United States by rhyming about his own experiences growing up and beyond. One song in particular on the album that I believe
... hard work and perseverance helped him accomplish his goal of become a major hip-hop star. Once he first got his shot at being a hip-hop star with the release of his first album, everyone began to see the real side if Kanye. His flamboyant fashion sense and outspoken personality has shown us the real side if himself. Like him or not, his music has inspired and touched the lives of many aspiring hip-hop artists which makes him one of the most influential characters in America.
Leaders show up in infinitely varying circumstances and characters. Typically, each individual has a picture of who they see as a perfect leader, but no leader is perfect for everyone. Different circumstances and different people require different character traits and styles for their leaders to be effective. The coach of a high school football team is not going to have the same character traits or leadership style as a kindergarten teacher. Not only is the scope of a leader’s character limited in the minds of individuals, but the circumstances in which a leader is needed, or in which a good leader could be found, is typically a narrow field in the minds of individuals. When good leaders come to mind, they are often pictured as outgoing, authority-demanding,
Most of his friends were either dead or in jail and were either dealing drugs or letting his family die. Even though he sold drugs, he knew he would have to stop to look after his child and he was given that opportunity when he began rapping. Now that you understand his childhood, you can understand his music much more clearly. His music isn't about killing cops or raping a girl, but of hope for people like him out there selling drugs to survive. He gives the clear message of hope to everyone who makes the effort and realizes that drugs aren't the way to go and to never give up on life and to live life to the fullest.... ...
His people back home knows exactly who and what he is talking about in most of his songs that’s why every time he goes home him and the homies make a joke about it. Making it out the hood was a goal for him growing up and that’s what he did made it out. I look up to him personally one day I would like to go to one of his concerts to see how it feels like to be in the atmosphere. Having the gift to just be able to write poetry and turn it into wonderful music is just amazing that’s why he’s one of my favorite rappers because not all rappers catch my attention with their music.
John Quincy Adams once said “If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader.” Justin Timberlake started inspiring and helping people at the age 14 when he joined NSYNC. Because of his leadership qualities, artistic skills and humanitarian efforts, Justin Timberlake is a great leader, with good influence on the rest of society.
