In our chosen country , Puerto Rico, the food is slightly different compared to the United States’ food. However, there are a few similarities.
A Puerto Rican’s breakfast , much like an American’s breakfast is for the most part fairly light. People from both countries eat things like egg omelets with vegetables, and fruit salads. While comparing the two countries , we noticed that Puerto Rico eats and uses a lot of what we call bananas, but they call Plantains. Even though we do share a few of the same fruits, Puerto Rico has a lot of fruits that we don’t. Chironja, star apples, and star fruits are just a few examples. Also, we observed that while America has a pretty good quantity of dessert-like breakfast foods, Puerto Rico doesn’t have
as much. Something that stood out to me what that the two countries have a very comparable dinner menu. A dinner in Puerto Rico is basically just a more complex version of an American’s dinner. We both eat things like pulled pork, various types of soup, and fried rice and vegetables. Although, one thing Puerto Rico has that is not a common everyday food is something called Lechon. Lechon is just a grilled/ barbecued whole pig or hog. After all of the hours of research , it is clearly evident that even though every Hispanic country may use different ingredients or vegetables, they’re not that far apart in difference. If you look and search close enough, you will be able to find something, even if it’s only one small thing, there will be something alike.
In the early stages of North American colonization by the English, the colony of Jamestown, Virginia was founded in 1607 (Mailer Handout 1 (6)). Soon after the Massachusetts Bay Colony was founded in 1629 (Mailer Handout 2 (1)). These two colonies, although close in the time they were founded, have many differences in aspects of their lives and the way they were settled. The colonies have a different religious system, economic system, political system, and they have a different way of doing things; whether that be pertaining to making money, practicing religion, or electing governors. Along with the differences, there are also a sameness between these two colonies. Each colony has been derived from England and has been founded by companies

OUTLINE I. Introduction a. Should Puerto Rico become America's 51st state? b. Many politicians have different views on what Puerto Rico should do. Should the island become a State, stay a Commonwealth, or become independent? Either way, it would benefit the island.
The features of the formation of the Puerto Rican people under Spanish rule are therefore critical in addressing questions on Puerto Rican identity. The migration of thousands of Spaniards both from the mainland and its islands to Puerto Rico, the development of subsequent Creole populations, the formation of the agricultural sectors and their labor needs are some of the contributing features that will hopefully lead toward a better understanding of the complexities that surround the concept of Puertoricaness.
The intention of this essay is to demonstrate to a vision rational, concordant political leader to the Puerto Rican, American and worldwide reality. It responds to the necessity that to the statehood it is necessary to imagine it and to expose it with all the evidence available, since many Puerto Ricans, including many political leaders, do not know like defending it or exposing it before the peculiar ones or our adversaries.
If one were to visit different countries and societies throughout the world, they may notice the many differences and similarities each region shares. This makes the world a very unique place because there is constant change and diversity everywhere we look, no matter the distance traveled. A prime example of this would be the similarities and differences between the United States of America and Mexico. Although the two are neighboring countries, there is a great deal of diversity amongst them that deserve a thorough examination.

Puerto Rico is a small island in the Caribbean that holds a vast, and rich culture. Due to its accessible geographical location, it is often called the key to the Caribbean. Puerto Rico enriched its people with one of the most innate and unique culture different from the rest of the world. The colonization of Spaniards left us not only with myriad architectural heritage, but also with language and cultural traditions that beholds Hispanic imagery and representations. Our music, our love of dancing and festivities, as well as our practice of Catholic beliefs represents

Every day , Puerto Rico is slowly adapting into the American way of life and is gradually losing what is left of their culture. Perhaps this is because Puerto Rico is a commonwealth of the United States. The poem “ Coca Cola and Coco Frio” by Martin Espada is a great example of someone who encounters the Americanized culture of Puerto Rico. Puerto Rico is struggling to preserve their own identity.
Although Puerto Rico is a beautiful place it is a highly expensive place to live. The cost of living in Puerto Rico has increased a great amount over the past decade. San Juan's, in particular, is higher than Atlanta, Dallas, and Seattle but lower than Boston, Chicago, and New York City. One factor is housing prices which comparable to Miami and Los Angeles, although property taxes are considerably lower than most places in the United States.
When a visitor or even a Peruvian tries any Peruvian dish, they might not know that what they are eating is the result of a fascinating evolution of foods and cultures. Certainly, Peruvian gastronomy goes beyond only cooking; it is a compendium of events, characters, and customs since food involves different nutritional elements: biological, historical, economic, cultural and social that reveal fundamental aspects of a country’s diet and lifestyles (More, Pablo). In Peru, this has been occurring since the beginning of the Andean culture, the encounter with the Spanish culture its important period of acculturation, the Republican era and up to its present.
Hawaii is much nicer and better than Japan but… everything else is worse than Japan. It becomes more exhausting, they make us work for 10 hours without stopping until break and I feel like my life flashed before my eyes, there are bad houses that are lonely and quiet. I miss you and the family. Over here in Hawaii they give us weird food that I have never tried before, I really miss japanese food though. I wanted to come to Hawaii to help our family with needs and pay for rent and make sure things are going just the way we planned to grow a business there and get a lot of money but, it sure will be hard to get enough money to come back and still have money to help you out.
Pedro shyly admitted before that he feels homesick at times for foods that he eats in Puerto Rico. Like many other students, international or not, food can be a great comfort when students feel homesick. Many students who are not international students can at least relate to the kinds of foods that are found at the dinning services, even if they are not exactly the same as a home cooked meal. For international students, however, the food served at the dining ser...
Both, Germany and the United States, have many things in common, but, at the same time, they differ in many areas even when looking at only just a small part of these two countries like their geography. Most people would think that their geography is obviously different and there is no point in writing a five page essay about something that obvious, but I present these people with a simple question - what is a country's geography? I believe that a country's geography includes not only its location but also its climate, terrain, and environment by which I mean the way people interact with their geography. So based on that fact, what exactly makes these two countries unique and what do they actually share between each other? My goal in this paper is to bring different reliable sources along with personal experience together to show that some parts of the geography between these two countries are very similar while other areas are complete opposites.
