Shopping has always been one of my favorite hobbies. The hardest part is choosing which is better at that moment, online shopping or in-store shopping. I personally love to do both, especially when there are sales, because sometimes online may have a better sale than in store and vice versa. In the real world real shoppers will know that Online and in-store shopping differentiates in various ways. However, depending on the situation they both are sometimes convenient ways to shop. Recently, in-store shopping has been more convenient for me because sometimes I just want or need something right away, but in reality I enjoy both ways of shopping. I believe that shopping preferences change depending on a person’s situation. …show more content…
Although, online shopping is more convenient for individuals that don’t have time to go to the store. If you’re busy with work or school then online shopping can sometimes be more convenient. It’s also convenient since you don’t have to drive, catch the bus, wait in a long line, or deal with not being able to find an item. All you have to do is type in the item you’re looking for and it’s there. Once you find the item, you can order it at any time because online stores never close. Lately, I’ve been having a lot online shopping experiences because they have been having really great deals and sometimes extra 20% off purchase. Also since a lot of stores have started online shopping with pick up in the store, a lot of people have been enjoying that as well because you can order items and pay for them online. You receive a confirmation code and a time that your items will be ready and all you have to do is go to the store and pick the items up from customer …show more content…
In-store shopping can also be a lot quicker since you don’t have to worry about shipping. Just grab the item you want, step in line, and buy it. Seems really easy and fast but sometimes in store can have long lines that will make you very inpatient. I’ve had a few disappointments with shipping from online ordering but nothing too bad that I wouldn’t order offline any more. I’ve had experiences with sellers taking extremely long to finally ship an item. There were times when I never even received the item I ordered but luckily they were able to refund my money. In the store you can actually see the item, but you have to trust a picture when shopping online. Many sellers would zoom in for the item a lot, so the item has a chance at being smaller when you see it. When shopping for clothing, in-store shopping is definitely a better option. The main reason is because you get to try on clothes. If it’s a store that doesn’t have fitting rooms, you can still view it clearly and place it against you. You can’t do this at all with online shopping. You will just have to trust the size and measurements and most online stores clothes are not true to their sizes. At times, I received items with completely different measurements than they
Being a multi-billion dollar retailer comes with its perks. JCPenney’s dominance over catalog merchandising has now extended into the cyber world at www.jcpenney.com. This website is multi-functional and easy to navigate, but how would JCPenney’s new e-commerce site stack up against its toughest competitor, Kohl’s, on the web? The answer may surprise you. This is an intriguing look at how varied retail comparisons can be. While JCPenney is struggling with sales on the retail floor, Kohl’s continues to exceed expectations in their stores. Online though, it is a completely different story.
I believe many people adore shopping and sometimes shopping can relieve our stress. I think it is good to shop once in a while but not always, because a lot of shopping may cause financial problems which could increase our stress rather than relieve. The author interviews a woman named Laura, she said “I am constantly suffering from megamall withdrawal. I come here all the time” (Guterson 105). Then her friend Kathleen replied, “It’s a sickness. It’s like a cocaine or something: It’s a drug and I need to be here” says Kathleen. This become as a shopaholic because for mall shopaholic, shopping triggers some part of their brain and make them feel happy and excited for making purchases. We buy a lot of things which we do not need then we just waste our money. I think we need to reduce buying things which is not important for us because we worked so hard to earn money and in a minute we could waste all the money. People should have more maturity. We need to think wisely, spend less and save more money for our future
Shopping is not simply a chore; it is also an experience. Shopping for clothing is a particularly personal decision, and various motivating factors can cause one shopper to choose a particular store over another store. Some consumers go to the store to confirm that they belong to a certain social stratum, others because they enjoy the thrill of a bargain. According to Daniel Miller in ‘Making Love in Super Markets’, the behavior of consumers in supermarkets tends to fall into two categories: ‘treat’ shoppers and ‘thrift’ shoppers.
People know that for the most part they can rely on Amazon.com for fast delivery and a wide selection of goods and somewhat affordable prices. Amazon.com has an efficient and advanced supply chain model, which is why they are able to guarantee quick product delivery to customers. They have strong customer loyalty due to their string customer service and unique business model. Customers freely and openly rate products and services which allows for greater customer satisfaction because customers are able to perform better product research in order to find the best fit for their needs. There are many benefits to be a strictly online business, for example having less overhead expenses compared to normal department stores with multiple locations and employees. and more money to give back to shareholders (Free SWOT). Customers can shop anywhere, anytime, and in any condition they choose. And depending on where the customer may live, they will always get their desired product within a week unless notified otherwise. It is easy to understand why Amazon.com has become a giant in the E-shopping
Online shopping has been growing since the put the first online store on the web, now you can shop from anywhere around the world and have it shipped to you directly. Comparing the product against other online store competitors; making it easier to find the best price on the web. You can research the product and make sure this what you need before buying it. This might appear obvious to many shoppers. But I believe multitudes of people purchase items without ever considering what they buy could be found elsewhere for less money. Even I am guilty of assuming that Walmart has the best prices on everything. If I take a small amount of time to search for a specific coffee maker, I can find the large chain store 's prices such as Walmart, Target, Best Buy, and Sears, along with other smaller retailers. (In some cases smaller stores ' prices are lower.) Many stores price match, so if I prefer to shop at Walmart because I live close to one, I can have them match the competing retailers lower price. Also, many retailers provide free shipping on online orders totaling a certain amount. Therefore, if physically visiting the store with the lowest prices is not feasible, shoppers can order items online for no extra charge. However, ordering from brick-and-mortar stores—physically or online—is not always the best option. Websites such as Amazon and eBay have millions of items from multiple sellers. Sellers will compete with each other for the lowest price, often providing shoppers with a price lower than those of larger stores. Regardless of how and where you purchase your items, taking time to shop around is a wise
When comparing two different ways of shopping most people do not even think about the difference, they do both and not even realize it. In today's society people shop while at work, after work and on the weekends, whenever time permits. Stop and think how can I get more time in the day for family or just myself? The best way to figure that out with all the recourses we have is to go into a store and spend time looking through racks and waiting in endless lines to just purchase something. I compared going into a store verses online shopping; to see which one will save you time and money.
Customers like to stay entertained while hunting for the perfect gift. Shopping in stores can be boring at time causing the customer to shop online in the comfort of their home (No One Is Talking about a Major Reason That People Aren 't Shopping for Clothes in Stores). Online shopping can be more exciting to people than going into the actual store.
Customers are quick to fall into the category of “belonging” found in Maslow’s hierarchy of needs. They feel as if in order to belong or to feel loved and respected by others they must try to attain what everyone else has or wants. This is especially true during the holiday season when people feel that what they buy reflects how they feel about the people they buy presents for. If you feel that you must purchase a certain present that you know will be out of stock and hard to find, you are better off shopping online or by mail. Shopping online and by mail is becoming the new wave of shopping and it is a smart, convenient, and timesaving process.
This is the report according to the survey I did in IUP. Seven out of ten people say they prefer to buy goods from e-commerce. The reason is they said that it is convenient and time saving. According to the survey most of them agree that the service is fast. For an example, the delivery is fast. If you purchase something from e-commerce you will get the stuff within two weeks time. Beside that, the price is slightly cheaper than those goods in the shopping mall. But it depends on season, if you buy goods during the clearance season, such as New Year sale, summer sale or winter sales goods in the shopping mall probably will be cheaper than goods that offer in the e-commerce.
The main advantage of online shopping is convenient. Online shops open 24/7. People who live in remote areas do not need to speed long time on the traveling to the stores. Consumers who come from other cities/countries can easily buy the native and specialty goods by just a click instead of going to that cities/countries themselves. The relevant information of products can be received from any location in seconds. Study showed that 72% of online shoppers preferred surf online than go to retail store to attain information about a product (Lokken et al., 2003). Online shopping also has greater price information (as cited...
Whether these items are necessities or even a splurge item. Trips to the store are made for a reason and when you go there will always be the impulse buyer, the list maker, and the bargain hunter. Each type has a different method and these methods are being used to shop, and they are our personal ways of shopping. You will come across many different types of shoppers. You will now realize what kind of shoppers these people you encounter are. Every shopper has a different personality when it comes to shopping as well. Some can be good as well as bad. The Internet is rapidly becoming widespread and widely used as a tool for globalization across the world. As the Internet became more easily accessible by most people in the world, the web is bringing significant implications and changes to the way we live, including the way we shop. Online shopping allows you to compare prices with other stores and endless sizes and colors are available to you that normally wouldn’t be in stores. The convenience of being able to check multiple stores prices without having to waste gas to drive to multiple stores to find the best price is just one of the many ways shopping online can save you money. We all know children grow at an exponential rate so having to go to the mall multiple times a month is frustrating and tiring. Being able to have someone deliver whatever you desire right to your doorstep is like receiving a gift. Another pro of online shopping is having access to customer reviews. Yes, you may be able to physically hold the item if you were buying it from a store, but by reading the customer reviews you can decide if the product is worth the price. You can even write your own review to inform other people of your opinion of the product. If you don’t like the product, most places allow you to ship it back hassle-free with a full refund or
