Paper 1 Rough 2 Many people may think college classrooms and high school classrooms are the same because they have the primary structures of a classroom, and both of them are considered to be a learning environment, the truth is they do not contain as much similarities as people may think such as appearance, classroom sizes and the age difference. People have a conception that all classrooms should look the same, although in college the situation changes. Have you ever had the opportunity to look at both classrooms? If yes, then I’m sure you have noticed the big difference in each room.
Classrooms in high school always seemed to be decorated, and treat the students like kids. I remember when I was in high school the classrooms were decorated

They do not contain any bright colors or any posters around the room. They do not contain any type of material that may help a student get interested about the learning. All of the classes that I have do not contain any bright colors or any posters that indicate what the class is about. Some classrooms do not emphasis the right subject. For example, I have a math class that does have items on the wall, but the items the classroom has does not go with the subject I am learning about. Instead of having posters about math or equations like a normal math class would, it has animals that are dead, and the periodic table. When I first walked in I thought I was in the wrong class, I thought I had walked into a science class. Some teacher’s do not have a room so that they have to be moving around during the day and they do not get a room that goes accordantly to their subject that they are teaching. Classrooms in college do not have any kind of material that may get students interested about the learning because the classrooms look boring, and they are empty. The classrooms look like they do not belong to a professor for the same reason they do not contain anything on the wall or around the
The environment of the classroom is important because is a social place where children have to feel secure so they can become part of the lesson and for the lesson to succeed. The classroom is organized and the students are in their individual desks respectfully listening to the teachers lecture and following along. The students look
High school and college differ in a variety of different ways that separate the two in a significant manner. High school is designed to prepare the student for college and on the other hand college is designed to prepare the student for reality. I’ve personally been enrolled in high school and college institutions, therefore I have experienced the reality of both. Many high school scholars enroll in college thinking that they’ll have nearly the same responsibilities and expectations in which they had to exceed in high school, which is very untrue. College is difficult and isn’t a push over like high school, so put forth your best effort. Although high school and college may seem similar, they are in fact surprisingly different regarding housing
After my first few months of college, I realized I enjoy being a college student much more than I enjoyed being a high school student. However, the transition between the two extremely diverse worlds, was challenging at first, I found out how to overcome it. Originally, I couldn’t realize how different the two were, but as time went on, I was about to notice the differences. Not everyone is able to be aware of the many similarities and difference. Some differences include: cost, amount of freedom, and reasons why people are there. On the other hand, both high school and college have similar class structure and both require time management. The better prepared a student is to challenged with these many similarities and differences, the more
To begin, my observation was at Webster Elementary School, a school placed in the city surrounded by houses and other schools. The specific classroom I am observing is full of Kindergarten students who seem to very advanced than I had imagined. The classroom walls are brick and white, but the classroom teacher Mrs. O'Brien does an amazing job keeping the space use for both an upbeat and educational vibe, especially for environmental print. Everywhere you look there are educational posters, numbers, and mental state vocabulary words, as well as, students completed work. To add, students sit in medium sized tables with 4-6 other students when they aren’t having whole group instruction on either
The physical layout in this classroom consists of the students’ desks in small groups around the classroom and three small group tables at the front of the room, side of the room, and back of the room. There are also cabinets up againt the walls and drawers in the counter in the back of the room. They have the alphabet twice on the wall and numbers one through twenty on the wall, along with pictures that show each number. The room is not very colorful because it is a bluish white color, but the things on the wall make it more comfortable. There is a master schedule on the wall as well. There are labels around the entire room like wall, chair, desk, window, door, etc. There is a Smartboard in the front of the room behind one of the group tables, and two computers beside it. There is also a board behind the Smartboard. To the right of the Smartboard in the c...

College is somewhere where all the students keep busy with their work that is assigned and they seem determined to be successful and take their education seriously. There are many differences that I believe are the main points between college English and high school English. For example, the way teachers act in the classroom and towards the students, how the teacher presents the work and homework to the classroom, and just the overall way that the class is taught. The differences about how teachers from college and high school are pretty different, they always know what they are doing that day compared to some English teachers in high school that seem like they have no clue what they are going to teach us on a daily basis. They always tell us to be prepared and to bring all of your necessary utensils to school and be ready to learn but it seems like they should follow thier own rules as well and teach us something that will help us far into the future. I am not trying to make them look bad, but compared to how college professors are organized and know what information they want to teach their students so they can exceed in their academic achievements is totally different from the way high school english teachers present
Students who make the transition from high school into college have difficulty adjusting because many are not used to being on their own nor their new environment. Entering college, you come to understand that it is not the same as high school. There are crucial differences like the level of academic responsibilities, time management and scheduling, as well as the method of learning. College and high school are different in many ways but they both ultimately share the same goal in teaching students to learn.
I believe it is equally important to have a classroom that is student-centered. I do not imagine my classroom arranged with rows of seated desks all facing the front of the classroom. Instead, I think that students should have the opportunity to work amongst their peers in small groups, studying a wide array of topics. Students will not be required to focus their attention on on...
The biggest difference between high school and college is the amount of responsibilities and independence. The biggest difference between high school and college is the amount of responsibilities and independence that I have. I am responsible for registering for the classes, I need to take, meeting with a counselor, paying for me fees, and ordering my parking permit. College is a lot of pressure because it can really determine my future. If you do not succeed in college then it’s my fault, my money and time that is wasted.
High school and college are very dissimilar. There are the main differences and then there are differences that aren't very distinct. These differences include homework, teacher-student relationships, and attendance policies. In this paper I will discuss the major and minor differences between high school and college. I will also explain why responsibility is a very important factor in high school and college.
At a high school, there are many things to offer such as auditoriums, lunch rooms, computer labs and science labs. Along with these things sports are offered too, among those sports are basketball, soccer, baseball, football and various running sports. While students benefit from these extracurricular activities there are rules to be obeyed such as the school dress code and cell phones are not permitted during school hours. While in college it is a little different, you get treated like an adult and you have a bit more freedom. College students take advantage of this freedom of roaming and exploring the campus. For example, college kids can freely take out their cellphone without it being taken up at any given point in the class. “In high school, your day is typically planned for you, including where and when your classes meet and what time you eat lunch. College gives you significantly more freedom in building your schedule and choosing how to spend your time” (Kori Morgan). Along with extensive freedom offered at the college level there are other things offered as well, like sports fields, theatres and concert halls most of those things are unheard of in high school. Whether college kids are in class they could easily be hitting the books hard in libraries or just relaxing in the campus café. The choices are endless in
Schooling is a very important aspect in our lives and one must go through many steps to gain a higher education. Two of these steps are high school and college. Although high school and college students aim for the same goal, which is acquiring an education and graduating, the demands, expectations, and social atmosphere extremely contrast.
Going to school and getting a great education is important for a successful future in today’s world. Years ago, many children did not go to school and many young adults opted to work instead of attending college. In today’s society, gaining a high level of education is almost always mandatory for many jobs. There are many changes being done to the education system along with new items and ways of teaching in the classroom. When college and high school are contrasted with the financial cost, academics, and social aspects, it becomes clear that university are more costly, more academically challenging, and provides a more socially stimulating environment than high school. These differences should be taken into account by those students who are entering university from high school. High school students who are entering university and are able to take on these differences between the two will be more effectively prepared for the challenges that university can present.
