Lady Radcliffe Mowlson created the first scholarship at Harvard College in 1643. There are many types of scholarships, but the main two are Academic Scholarships and Athletic Scholarships. (Debate) To qualify for Academic Scholarships, a student generally must have a 3.5 GPA or higher, 25 ACT score. (Debate) Every college or university may have different requirements. To qualify for Athletic Scholarships, a student must complete 16 core courses:Four years of English, earn at least a 2.0 GPA in the core courses and earn a SAT combined score or ACT sum score matching the core-course GPA. (TamarLewin) A lot of high school graduates and including college graduates are unemployed. (JordanWeissmann) Many people around the age of 25 are unemployed and only intending school. Since many people do not have a job, it will cause these graduates to be in a crisis. Dept causes them to have to still live with their parents, and have a huge delay on adult milestones. People are the age of 30 who live on their own, in a house, is mostly being taken out of loans. They want to decide which college the students want to go to, what they want to be when they graduate from college, whether it is an Academic or Athletic.
