A college education can provide many opportunities to make a better living and better life; however, those on the other side debate the value of a college degree saying college puts students in unreasonable debt. Those who agree that obtaining a college degree will better one’s chance at job placement, salary, and standard of living. Having a college degree will better one’s chances of getting a job over someone without a degree. A college degree shows that one did their time in school to higher their education and they ave what it takes to take on task as best as they can. The higher someone’s education is the more likely they are to get a job position over someone with just a high school diploma, because employers know that college graduates learn the skills and work ethic that they need to have in the workforce that high school graduates do not learn in school. In Kurtzleben (2014) study “Income Gap Between Young College and High School Grads Widens” he states “among millennials ages 25 to 32 years old earnings for college-degree holders are $17,500 greater than those with just high school diplomas.” As the college graduates net worth is increasing each year, the high school graduates net worth is decreasing each year. Just by having a college degree will boost anyone’s chance of making more money than those without a college degree, because once a employer sees that, one has a college degree over one that just has a high school diploma the employer will automatically think that the one with a college degree has more of the skills such as communicating, writing, thinking skills. That high school graduates do not have. Kurtzleben 2014, also states in the study that high school graduates net worth has fallen from $11,455 in 1984, by 2011 it was less then one-third of that.
