In my essay titled “The Origins of Clothing and Global Sustainability”, the introduction provides an in-depth explanation of what will be addressed later in the essay to support my question at issue. My introduction starts off as, “The impacts that clothing has on the global economy and the environment have become increasingly prominent over the years” (“Essay 1.2” 1). This topic sentence provides a current fact and delves right into the question at issue, whether or not the origins of clothing have negative effects on the economy, sustainability and the environment. “While consumers do not pay attention to the origins of their clothing, the producers use tactful strategies in order to keep up with the fashion industry and save their products on the market” (“Essay 1.2” 1), this quotes offers an explanation for what problems I will address in my counterargument against my question at issue. Also in the introduction, I provided definitions to help the reader follow along with my question at issue, which was followed by the enthymeme. And this then allows for the reader to recognize my stance on the topic. “The origins of clothing directly impact global sustainability because it promotes poverty in many areas of the world, thus exploiting the global economy, and destroying the global environment” (“Essay 1.2” 1), this last sentence tells the reader what the problem and question at issue are for what is to be later addressed in the essay. One of my main claims in my counter argument is that “One might object that GMOs allow for crops to flourish, decrease pest damage, save time, minimize energy, and reduce carbon dioxide emissions” (“Essay 2.2” 3). The point of a counter argument is to present ideas opposite to the ones presented in your enthymeme, to validate your points in the end of the essay. For example, my enthymeme is about how GMOs need to be labeled on produce in grocery stores in order to maintain and preserve human health, while my counter argument suggests that farmers rely too heavily on these chemicals in order to sustain their crops and were absolutely necessary for them to survive. While I address opposing viewpoints in my counter argument, at the end, I offer a rebuttal to support my enthymeme “Nevertheless, humans are suffering grievous reactions to these substances that are affecting their daily lives, and overall well-being. Yet farmers are receiving profits and benefiting from the customers while people are endlessly getting sick in return. It is true that farmer prosperity is imperative for them to make a living and continue generating crops, however, human lives are more vital than the farms accomplishments” (“Essay 2.2” 4). Over
