Title
Marine species all over the world are reducing in numbers because their migration route changes and habitats changes or habitat loss is due to climate change. People may not realize or care about the effects on marine species, but they should. It not only affects marine species, it affects everyone too. Helping stop marine species from going extinct by reducing climate change in numerous ways will not only help out the marine species, but it will help people keep their food resources, help keep the economy stable, and allow places in the world to stay above the sea. Marine species have been having to change their migration routes or locations due to climate change.

For years climate change has been widely debated. The debate is outdated and no knew arguments or factual information has been brought to support climate change being a hoax. On the other hand, factual information has been provided and supports the existence of climate change and marine species getting the negative effects of it all.
Although climate change never existed, people who don't believe in climate change are wrong. Climate change never used to exist until humans affected the environment. They did this by creating pollution and excess amounts of greenhouse gases, including carbon dioxide.)
Counterclaim: Some people may think that marine species are not affected negatively by climate change and some people think that climate change is a hoax because… However, these two claims are invalid because climate change has been proven to exist and has impacted marine species negatively. People don’t want to admit to themselves that the world is changing climatically. The world has been changing climatically since the beginning of time (look what happened to the dinosaurs). Climate change has gotten worse because greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide are building up way too much in the earth’s atmosphere. Climate change is a change in global temperature and regional climate patterns. At the turn of the 20th century, there has been rising issues about climate change, arguing that global warming and climate change is an issue worsened by the human race. A big change that has occurred in the oceans all over the world is the Coral Reefs are dying and are predicted to be dead by the end of the century due to the rising acidity of the oceans caused by many different threats to marine ecosystems. Coral reefs cover less than 0.2% of our oceans but they contain 25% of the world’s marine fish species according to Endangered: Biodiversity on the brink, 2010: pg.45). If this is the case that means by the time the end of the century comes around we will have lost close to 25% of the worlds marine ecosystems.
What is the first marine mammal added to the endangered species list attributed primarily to climate change? As climate change melts the ice, it is projected that two thirds of polar bears will disappear by 2050. This drastic decline in the polar bear is occurring in our lifetime, which is but a miniscule fraction of the time polar bears have explored the vast Arctic seas (National Wildlife Federation, 2014).
Scientist and researchers use science and scientific methods to figure out what is occurring to the environment, climates and everything else related. Scientific methods include generating hypothesis and conducting experiments and yielding data which they can rely on and spread it amongst citizens with confidence. Scientific research over many years gaze the changes occurring over time and how climate is changing and effecting the Earth and life on Earth. Xifra (2015) states how science produces more captivating and distressing analyses, which means that science does say that there is change globally resulting in climate change but there is gap of knowledge between the scientific research and the social responses to climate change. O’Connor et al. (2015) states many studies conducted have evidence of climate change has affected the marine biological systems more than other factors; and confidently accrediting biological change to climate change is important to the application of scientific research to making decisions. Scientists have opted to use the term "climate change" instead of global warming because as the Earth's average temperature changes, winds and ocean currents move heat around the globe in ways that can cool some areas, as well as warm others. There is an ongoing dispute about the effects of humans on the global climate and about what policies should be implemented to avoid possible undesirable effects of climate change. Ninety-seven percent of published scientific research concluded that climate change is real, problematic for the planet, and has been exacerbated by human activity. But what about the three percent that contradicts that?
Oceans cover 71% of the earth’s surface. The talk of climate change can often seem to focus on what is happening in our atmosphere, but there is a lot of change going on in our oceans. The oceans have absorbed 90% of the excess heat and 28% of the carbon pollution generated by human consumption of fossil fuels (Nuccitelli 2015). The purpose of this paper is to show how the effects of climate change effect the coral reefs in our oceans, with a focus on the coral reef systems in the Caribbean and of the Great Barrier Reef. The Caribbean coral reefs are well known to have suffered more damage between the two reef systems. That’s not to say that the Great Barrier Reef has not suffered its own damage. It has and will continue to suffer in the future.
Our world is always changing, so is our climate. Some changes are apparent, others not so much. Climate change is an important issue of concern in the twenty-first century. Climate change has been affecting coral reefs in a negative way. If the climate continues to get warmer more of our coral reef become bleached, the structure of the reefs will become weak, and algae that keeps coral healthy will die. In the essay, “A framework for understanding Climate change impacts on Coral Reefs” by Joshua Clinner (2016), he emphasizes our climate change has become one of the long-term threats to coral reef. The article “Climate change and human impacts are damaging the world’s coral reefs”, which didn’t include an author (2001), states that the sea temperatures throughout the tropics has increased dramatically leaving much of the coral unhealthy. Spencer Hall (2008), discussed in his article “Coral Reefs and Climate Change”, how the increase in climate change puts a lot of stress on coral reefs because they are very sensitive to the change of temperature.
