Few things in life have as much influence on a person as that individual’s family. Family sets the standard for an individual’s way of life from the time one is born until death. It is very unusual for an individual to break out of the mold that one’s family has been known to have. It can happen, but these examples are few and far between. I, for one, happen to fall in line with the group that follows the standard of the rest of my family. I am very blessed to have the family that I do to fall in line with. I was raised a preacher’s kid, so that clearly influences the way I view faith in my life. I was also raised by a teacher, so that has helped me learn the value of education and how important it is in my life. My family background has affected …show more content…
I did not understand that I needed to take their faith and make it my own. When I finally realized that I needed to have my own authentic faith, I saw that it was still in line with that of the rest of my family. Seeing my family live out their faith has had a profound impact on my own. Because of the way my family has lived their faith, see the world with what is known as a Christian worldview. I realize that everything in this world can be used for the glory of God, and that the morals that are set forth in the Bible really mean something in the world we live in. My family taught me that everything I am meant to do is supposed to be pleasing to God. This mindset has also shaped the way I view my future by helping me look at things in a manner that is not selfish. My family does not pursue worldly things such as wealth or pleasure as much as they pursue a relationship with Christ. This way of thinking has fallen onto me as I have grown older and begin to think and plan my future. I tend to focus more on figuring out what God wants me to do in my life rather than having my own personal ambition. My future in this world is supposed to have Christ first in my life, and I realize this because of the way my family has raised me. My family has also influenced me in a very unintended way that has had a huge impact on the way I view my future. When I was eight years old, my parents …show more content…
I know that for eight years, I took this seemingly common concept for granted. This situation has made me really think about relationships as I have gotten older. Most of my friends say that I am way too picky and need to put myself out there and try harder, but I have gone through things that many of them could not imagine. Even when it comes to dating, I do not want to hurt someone I am with, or have them hurt me. When I finally find the right person to spend my life with, I know that divorce will not be an option in our marriage, especially if we have kids. I know the pain that divorce causes, especially when it involves supposedly perfect people. The situation that I experienced is something that I have learned greatly from and think about everyday. The way I see the world is very different than the average person because of that. Many people do not learn from the mistakes of parents and family, but I know that I am susceptible to mistakes, and I must guard myself so that I do not make the same ones my dad
The essay, “A Christian World View,” by Mickenzie Neely seeks to address some major themes that pertain to a Christian worldview. The essay, in summary, states that “serving others, accepting and giving grace, sacrifice, and justice are all essential to living for Christ.” This essay was presented in a way in which she used facts and scriptures from the Bible to support her point. This paper will analysis Neely’s main arguments and will evaluate my opinion of her writing. The main topics that apply to my Christian worldview are love, service, grace and forgiving.
Although a worldview ensues what a person believes about the great questions of life, a biblical worldview stands far more intense since it’s filtered through the bible and the outlook stays Christ focused. The book of Romans in the Bible provides an example of what a biblical worldview should be like. As a result of Paul’s truths in Romans 1-8, believers have been able to grasp an understanding of the teachings that express the idea of a biblical worldview that God intended us to perceive.
There are many aspects of the Christian worldview that determines one’s faith. It all begins with God and what he did and why he so great. Then how humanity was shape with its issues and main purpose. The way we see Jesus and what has he done to be apart of are faith and what as humans have found for a restoration. Through analysis the Christian faith and how each of these tie in together. While reflecting on my faith and if lives to the standards of a Christian worldview. Through explaining my understanding of the four aspects of a Christian worldview I will analysis and compare it to my faith.

I am who I am partly because of my family, but mostly because of who I want myself to be. I will never be exactly what I want to be because of my family upbringing, but I can provide myself with opportunities to live a somewhat similar life. I would have loved to be brought up in a family that was into off-road racing, such as trucks, snowmobiles, an...

What is Christianity and why has it been able to develop into a continuously growing and evolving religion?
Throughout my life I have learned many things about Christianity, however, in more recent years I have learned that my views and opinions of the world based on what I have learned as a Christian, are considered my worldview. The reason why this is significant is because it effects how I believe the world came into being, an issue Dr. Lam addresses in his article. Dr. Lam also focuses in his paper on explaining why our Creator is different from others, and what makes Him unique as a whole. In this paper I will explain what my thoughts are on the points Dr. Lam makes in his paper, and discuss how his points have affected my own thoughts and opinions.
In addition to being influenced by church and religion, I have also been influenced by my family. My parents have always been there for me and supported me in all I do. They encourage me in my schoolwork as well as my extra-curricular activities. They attend all my concerts and things I participate in including church activities. My grandparents have also influenced me in what I am today. My grandfather is a minister and has always encouraged me to do well and have high morals. They have always done special things such as taking me on trips to show me how much they love me. My sister has also helped me be the person I am today. She has been a role model to me in many things. She has encouraged me to do well in school because she excelled and was valedictorian of her class. She also has an outgoing personality and has been a role model socially.
Family has a major impact on our lives. From the moment you were born, your family has taught you right from wrong. We get our religion, values, gender roles, language, and habits from our families. We get our status in society through your family’s connection and wealth, which later can determine one’s job opportunities in life. Although we grow up and start to develop our own values and beliefs and opinions, the family values, beliefs and opinions that were instilled in you since you were little never really go away.
I first learned to be a Christian from my parents. They took me to Sunday School and “preaching” on Sunday mornings when I was young. They made sure I was involved in the youth group and children’s and youth choirs while growing up. They taught me to say a blessing before every meal, and they laugh when I still occasionally break into our traditional “God is great, God is good . . .” version of grace I learned as a child. My parents were also the ones who taught me to ask for God’s help when I am in need of something or worried about an issue as well as to give God praise for all of the blessings in my life. My grandparents also helped further my Christian education. My Grandmother Hall made an impact on my understanding of church because she was very opinionated about what her preacher should and should not be preaching about from the pulpit. Her opinions caused me to think about what I believed in and why I believed that way. My family was very important to my upbringing in the church.
I am a Christian girl who loves God with all her heart and wants to worship not just with words but with deeds. I am someone who is working with God in building and solidify my faith and beliefs. I grew up in a Christian family but I do not believe in God just because my parents told me to do it. They guided me and introduced to me the “Christian worldview”, but I believe because I feel God as someone real in my life, I have experienced his love and support. The fact that I am here at JBU, studying in the USA, accomplishing one of my biggest dreams help me to see that God works on my life in ways that sometimes I do not understand and also I understand the power of prayer and a close relationship with God.
This has taught me to become the person I am today, by following in our saviors footsteps taught me to never give up. When things seem to be at its worst its Jesus who carries the burden for me. Today’s culture takes advantage of the love Jesus has to offer, selfishness seems to be the normal act of today’s society. My Christian worldview helps my personal decisions I make with my family and career. I remember to treat others like I want to be treated (Luke 6:31, King James Version) even when other treat me unsatisfactory. My purpose is to minister to others how great God is, and to testify about the miracles he’s worked for me. God’s purpose impacts my way of thinking because of the instructions taught, miracles he executed, and the passing and revival he concurred
I became a deacon at my church, and soon after I started to build a community culture with the people in my church who shared my beliefs and values. While not every person can agree on everything, having people with similar cultures get together to not only discuss religious beliefs, but discuss family and life is very helpful in growing as a person. They were there for me, and I learned so much from the people I created meaningful relationships and connections with. This made me so much stronger in my faith than I was before, and I felt that I could put my faith in a higher position in my life. During this time I had a son, and not long after another came along; thus, shifting the culture of my family a great deal. Raising my sons proved to be a different experience altogether than raising my daughter. While I still put my faith in God first and taught that to my children, my culture shifted to include more things for them, especially as they got older and became more involved. My life was no longer about me and my priorities, but my faith and my children above everything else. My personal culture was no longer important. It was all about my family culture and what pieces of my own culture I could incorporate to raise my children in the best way possible. The biggest part of my culture that I incorporated was my faith, as I said before. Another important aspect was my family values. I am a very family oriented
my family that begins to diversify us is that we are a family of Christians. My parents have
