Chocolate milk is a bully, hurting kids in schools around the world. Shouldn’t we expel chocolate milk from our schools, kick it out of our cafeteria? Its easy to think chocolate milk is a cheap, nutritious, chocolate drink will fit all your needs, but when you look at the facts you see what the students are really drinking. As well, choclate milk can cause disease, has a sky high sugar rate, and you don’t only need to milk to get your 3 servings of dairy. We need to fight back at this bully before it really hurts us, chocolate milk is harmful not healthy.
One reason, our school should stop serving chocolate milk is because of the sugar content in chocolate milk. When you drink regular milk you drink 12 grams of sugar, but when you add the flavoring it can double the amount of sugar content. Making it a killer chocolate drink, and also turning 12 grams of sugar into 24-30 grams of sugar. Also as many people don’t know “there is 20% more sugar in chocolate milk than in coke,” says Chloe Baker,

The People for Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) states that “milk is high in cholesterol and saturated fat.” Why are we putting unhealthy food in our body when it doesn't help us very much? Even if you don’t drink milk, to get your 3 servings of dairy there is always cheese, yogurt, ice cream, cottage cheese, or even butter. These ways are smart, nutritious ways to add dairy to our body's and get the perfect amount are body needs, but taking away many of the sugars, we could have added. In addition, there are also other types of milk we can have if you do not want cow milk there are other milks like soy, rice, or almond milk. Almond milk is very nutritious it can help keep your heart healthy and intact, also making sure you bones stay strong, and always keeps digestion in check. Would you feed your kids something unhealthy when they don’t even need
Chocolate milk and a cafeteria don't go together like frosting on a cupcake, so don’t put them together. Schools should not serve chocolate milk to students. It’s easy to think that chocolate milk is just as healthy as white milk, but when you look at the facts, it is very clear that we should not serve chocolate milk in schools. It has been found that our bodies don’t need chocolate milk, there is too much sugar, and chocolate milk can cause illnesses and diseases. Chocolate milk should not be served in schools now or ever again.
Starting with the dark chocolate; this type of chocolate has a natural source of antioxidants. Then in 2008, Hershey began making chocolate with vegetable oil instead of cocoa butter (Hershey, n.d.). No milk chocolate is not a healthy snack but popping one in your mouth is only 25 calories (Sun-Sentinel, 2007). These improvements modified the chocolate recipe to attract more clientele (Hershey, n.d.).
Commodity Chain of Milk Milk: Does the body good? That?s about as much as I knew. As a somewhat, well, I?ll admit it- ignorant consumer- I simply thought that milk in the supermarket came from, well? a big, long row of cows somewhere.

I think that chocolate milk should be banned from schools because kids know they are not allowed to drink chocolate milk so they take advantage of the fact that they have it at school and drink it too much, chocolate milk makes kids consume too much sugar, and chocolate milk is more unhealthy compared to other drinks.
There are several factors that go into deciding whether products can be considered safe for consumption. One process in deciding for dair is SCC, or Somatic Cell Count. The SCC is a count of all the white blood cells existing in milk products. If a certain number is reached, the milk is considered infected. An article entitled Somatic Cell Count- Milk Quality Indicator states, “A threshold SCC of 200,000 would determine whether a cow is infected with mastitis… Cows infected with a significant pathogen have an SCC of 300,000 or greater” (“Somatic Cell Count”). It is also stated that in Europe, “milk with an SCC of more that 400,000 is deemed unfit for human consumption” (“Somatic Cell Count”). While 400,000 is considered unsafe in Europe, The United States Department of Agriculture allows for “Grade A milk shipments” to have a maximum SCC of “750,000 cells/mL” (“Determining U.S. Milk Quality”). It’s questionable what actually is safe for consumption. No mammal other than humans consume milk after infancy, and especially not from other mammals. Needed calcium is easily obtained through consumption of various vegetables and nuts. People just aren’t meant to drink milk. Dairy is the most common food allergy out there. A concept easy enough for kids to understand, an article from Kidshealth.org explains to lactose intolerant children, “[Y}our body starts making less lactase when you’re around 2 years old” (“Lactose Intolerance”). Because at 2 years of age, a person is no longer an infant, and therefore the body thinks that a person isn’t going to be drinking milk anymore. Dairy consumption can even lead to cancer. In an article entitled Milk and Prostate Cancer: The Evidence Mounts it is stated that “Major studies suggesting a link between milk and prostate cancer have appeared in medical journals since the 1970s” (“Milk and Prostate Cancer”). One of these studies indicated that “frequent dairy could increase
Since the beginning of time, people have been drinking milk. Even today you will find a gallon of milk in almost every refrigerator in America. Milk is, and has always been, a staple of our diet. Because it contains essential proteins, carbohydrates, fats, minerals and vitamins, milk is considered one of nature's perfect foods. Unfortunately, throughout the last century milk has been subjected to many forms of modern processing practices, which deprive milk from many of its natural qualities and benefits. Therefore many essential vitamins and enzymes are lost. Processing milk has altered one of nature’s perfect foods and changed it into something nature did not intend. Because of the abundant health benefits in raw milk, this report will explain why it should be made legal for consumers to buy throughout the United States.
There has recently been a debate about whether chocolate milk should be served in the school cafeteria or not. Some people say that it should be served in the cafeteria because chocolate milk is healthy and helps child growth. But, they are wrong. Chocolate milk is definitely not healthy, and it should not be served in the cafeteria. This is why. Chocolate milk shouldn’t be served in the cafeteria because it’s fattening and too sugary, it’s non-beneficial, and it can be harmful.
Chocolate milk is a worldwide debate of whether it should be served in schools or be an at home treat. Many schools have already gotten rid of chocolate milk but what about Nickels Intermediate school. They should keep chocolate milk to keep kids on a beneficial and healthy diet. To begin with chocolate milk gives kids a nutritional drink. It also improves their diets by giving them a drink that will not later cause obesity. The USDA say that the average person needs to drink 2-3 fluid cups of milk per day, depending on age and gender, to maintain a healthy diet (USDA), “claims, which are misleading in the extreme" (Cancer Prevention Coalition, Para3). Milk is a beverage that can cause various levels of diseases that the process of pasteurization does not filter, along with additive hormones that also effects cows that are treated with these hormones and all the while, there are people in the world that have little or no dairy intake that find calcium in places other than dairy and who are generally a more healthy people.
“It takes a real man to make a true confession - a Chocolate Soldier will excuse or cloak his sin.” Charles Stud. I strongly feel that there shouldn’t be chocolate milk in the cafeteria. It lies about how healthy it is. I have many reasons that give me this thought. One reason is chocolate milk can cause many illnesses that will cause a child to miss school. Another reason is chocolate milk causes children to eat 57 tons of sugar per week. Finally, chocolate milk causes kids to drink dirt and germs.
It has been brought to the public’s attention that drinking cows milk is not healthy for humans to consume. Should this product be taken off the shelves at the local grocery store? Milk is one of the most popular beverages in the United States. There are multiple advantages to the human body when milk is consumed. Milk contains nine essential nutrients, it creates bone and teeth health, and it is a large contributor to the economy in the farming communities of the United States. There are also cons to human’s intake of cow’s milk. There are negative health effects, lactose intolerance in the body, and false advertising of the product in regards to weight loss. Humans drink cows milk by the gallons since “it does a body good”; yet, the product is in the spotlight for not being healthy for human consumption.
In 2013, about 7.4 million tons of chocolate is expected to be consumed globally, totaling to nearly $110 billion (Pardomuan, Nicholson). I can honestly say that I will be one of the many people who contribute immensely to those massive quantities. Chocolate has always been one of my guilty pleasures, leading me to consider myself a “chocoholic.” After 20 years of eating chocolate, I learned there is more to chocolate than meets the eye. Many chemicals compose each delicious piece creating multiple psychological effects on the mind. With the knowledge of the chemical and psychological influences that chocolate has on the human mind and body and my own curiosity as to why I love it so much, this led me to ask: Why is chocolate considered such a pleasurable and craveable food?
Growth of the chocolate industry over the last decade has been driven in large part by an increasing awareness of the health benefits of certain types of chocolate. Chocolate consumers are considerably price insensitive. Except in rare circumstances consumers are willing to purchase what they consider an “affordable luxury.” Chocolate is one of the most popular and widely consumed products in the world, with North American countries devouring the lion's share, followed by Europe
There is nothing any better than a good piece of chocolate. Its rich, its creamy, its smooth, and it makes us feel so-o-o-o good for a few moments of course, that is; until the guilt of the calories kick in. Chocolate happens to be one of my favorite sweets. The wonderful creamy milk chocolate, bittersweet chocolate, white chocolate, or even my personal favorite a silky dark chocolate, the choices are hard. I sat down this weekend to really think about, and compare the differences. I compared my two favorite types of chocolate, milk chocolate, and dark chocolate. Milk chocolate is usually paired with nuggets, nuts, creams or caramels, but the dark chocolate is best with a wine such as a Muscat Canelli. Either makes a great desert, treat, or snack for anyone.
