While the Doctor was working in pediatrics in Denver Children’s Hospital, he there decided to take some initiative when he came to learn about VISTA or Volunteers in Services to America. From that point, Dr. Redlener began devoting his services to different locations. He then started his initiative of CHF (Children’s Health Fund) which focused on pediatric care for Children’s Health. CHF is a determined fund that brings with it a goal to help the unfortunate and homeless children. This foundation has done much work to build such a strong financial support system for all its programs. They have been able to gather four different sources to help generate funds for their programs: private individuals corporate, aid by Congress and government health insurance programs. These programs and groups that are organized by the foundation are nearly in all parts of the country. Camden is an example of this type of place-based approach. Camden is among the poorest city in the United States. It population face high rate of poverty and often lack access to care, with high utilizers of ER and hospital visits for preventable conditions that are treatable by a primary provider. As a result, individuals have difficulty accessing primary care along with a number of “behavioral, social, and medical issues” (Heiman & Artiga, 2015). The Camden Coalition used data to identify a small group of patients who had consumed a large quantity of medical resources and limited assets. Using these finding, the coalition designed and implemented a citywide health-information exchange, to coordinate care and locate patients in needs of intervention.

Receiving a phone call from the Children’s Aid Society (hereafter referred to as CAS) can be a daunting and intimating experience. CAS has a level of authority and power and can leave an inexperienced worker feeling unnerved and unsure what to do. There are a few things that I would do in the case of receiving a phone call from someone who is claiming they are from CAS. While it may be easy to think this person is from CAS, it is important to find out whom this person is and if they are from CAS. First, I would put the put the caller on hold and call CAS directly on another line, once I have found out who this person is, I can proceed.
