The following paper will go into detail about the New York Children’s Health Project. This is a New York based health care association dedicated to the health care of children who do not have the access over basic needs. This association was started in 1987 and has now gained units working in different locations all over the United States. The mobile health care it provides has been very successful in the country. Case Study: Launched in 1987 the New York Children’s Health Project or NYCHP was a vision project that Dr. Irwin Redlener brought to life and wanted it to cater to those children who were needy of healthcare services. While the Doctor was working in pediatrics in Denver Children’s Hospital, he there decided to take some initiative when he came to learn about VISTA or Volunteers in Services to America. From that point, Dr. Redlener began devoting his services to different locations. He then started his initiative of CHF (Children’s Health Fund) which focused on pediatric care for Children’s Health. CHF is a determined fund that brings with it a goal to help the unfortunate and homeless children. This foundation has done much work to build such a strong financial support system for all its programs. They have been able to gather four different sources to help generate funds for their programs: private individuals corporate, aid by Congress and government health insurance programs. These programs and groups that are organized by the foundation are nearly in all parts of the country. This works on the concept of medical home, where patients are treated in a homely manner. They also keep record necessary for patients, if they need to return. These technologies will enable the organization to address such challenges: Keeping electronic records to improve health care for children Proper training and detection process of safety threats in areas of higher risks Decreasing disparities in pediatric asthma care Creating online NICU networks and maintaining records Building HIT infrastructure for children having significant health care needs Works Cited Children’sHealth Fund.
