Have you ever been in a situation where you discover that one of your friends or classmates is cheating off your test? If you have, then you know what a pain it can be to get them to stop cheating without making a ruckus. If this has never happened to you then consider yourself lucky, but it probably will soon. Imagine you’re in class and somebody is copying your answers on a really big test that’s a huge chunk of your final grade. You immediately know they shouldn’t be copying, but don’t want to make a show out of it. So you start to brain-storm some ways to make it so they can’t cheat anymore. Some solutions that run through your head are telling them to stop, moving your paper away from them and covering your answers, and getting up and going to tell the teacher or whoever is in charge. These are all good ideas, but you want to think about them more in depth, so here we go.
The first solution is to tell them to stop cheating off your paper. You could tell them things like “I really don’t know if these answers are right, so if I were you I wouldn’t be cheating off my paper.”
I would say this solution is probably not your best because you would have to talk and you aren’t allowed to talk during tests. On the other hand, they will most likely listen to you and stop cheating off your paper. This could be a great solution for you because you would never get in trouble, and as long as you are not in trouble everything’s good. Right? Wrong. If your classmate stops cheating off your paper, and didn’t study for the test then they will probably just look over at somebody else's paper. Well then it’s their problem you would think, but soon it will be a everybody’s problem and not just yours. Now, that you think about it maybe you should ...

...ght thing to do and you won’t get in trouble, so you keep going. When your classmate is told by the teacher that they need to hand in your test early you can’t help, but keep from smiling because your plan worked. Now that you realize this was by far your best solution you start to recap what solutions had flaws in them.
All in all, I believe that the third solution where you tell your teacher about the cheater is the best because you never even have the chance of getting in trouble unlike solution number one (telling them to stop) and you didn’t have to deal with the hassle of shifting your paper around like solution number two (moving your paper away and covering up your answers). Finally, solution number three is definitely the best because the person stops cheating and gets in trouble while the teacher will probably thank you for telling them about the cheater.

If a teacher is unfamiliar with current advancements in the digital world, it is possible that they will miss the most obvious of cheaters. Because the student is never punished or caught, they assume the teacher does not consider it cheating. In some cases, schools are responsible for the rise in cheating because of the way curriculum is presented. In an article written by the Atlantic, a teacher received an anonymous letter from a successful college student stating that he had cheated all throughout high school. He told the author he cheated “because the grade [he]would have otherwise been given was not reflective of [his] true learning” (Lahey). In other words, he felt the teachers were giving him exams that were not accurate representations of the material he had learned. If students are giving themselves excuses for their cheating, that feeling of guilt will subside, and they will not view the action as wrong. Many think they are not at fault if they do not get caught or because they are just trying to keep up with their classmates who are cheating as well. These are the students that contribute to the statistics, the ones who are adding to
Dan Ariley’s "factors to decrease dishonesty" have connections to how students can stop cheating in and outside of the class room. In the class room, it is easy for the students to look up an answer on their phone to cheat on a test or exam. The way to stop cheating among college students is to think about their morals and honor pledges. If a student cheats on a test and receive a good grade, the student will not have the same feeling as the get a good grade
So, to help students across the country cheat better, saving themselves both from easy detection and from incurring the wrath of insulted faculty, and leading to a much more harmonious school environment, I offer the following tips, based on recent experience:
There are many clever ways of cheating on a test, but not to get caught is the biggest challenge that one will be facing. If caught they will end up in big trouble with the teacher and the university. I can list many clever ways to cheat, but I am going to list three ways that I believe is genius. The first one is, the water bottle cheat sheet, but this is use mostly for remember formulas. Scan the water bottle label, next, edit the text so it will be small enough for one to read and to put information on it, print it off, and paste it on the back which is the white side of the label. Only bring out the bottle when one need help with a problem. Act like
“For every clever person who goes to the trouble of creating an incentive scheme, there is an army of people, clever and otherwise, who will inevitably spend even more time trying to beat it. Cheating may or may not be human nature, but it is certainly a prominent feature in just about every human endeavor. Cheating is a primordial economic act: getting more or less” (21). This quote is important because it proves how everyone has cheated once. In many cases it is true, people often cheat on tests or even on their diet. Not everyone can live up to their expectations. Some may justify it, others proudly proclaim it, and others will try denying their cheating vigorously. Most people consider cheating as a bad and unwise action. In this novel, it gave two examples of cheaters, school teachers and sumo wrestlers. It shows how both authors can take two different people and still find something similar with both of them, like cheating.
...ble to over come such a habit will undoubtedly give you greater control over your life. Understanding why students cheat and will help us better see the signs ahead of time and hopefully provide the individuals with the help and resources they need in order to really get the value of a college education. In the end cheating gets you nowhere and just lowers you ability to perform at a higher level.
unwanted essay or any other punishment that awaits us. Maybe not talking while our teacher in trying to
Cheating is a big issue that has reached the most competitive campuses around the United States. It is increasing more and more with the new technology that we have in the 21st century because students have easy access to many sources of information. Cheating is something all students have done at some point in their lives, but as they reach a higher academic level, they are faced with more rigorous consequences that can affect their futures in many different ways. Cheating might be seen as an easy way to obtain a good grade, get into a good college, or maintain scholarships or financial aid, but the consequences could affect the life and the future of the student.
Modern students face many pressures for academic success. They are often unwilling to disappoint their parents or spouses. Some fear that not cheating will weaken a student’s ability to compete with their peers. They rationalize their unethical behavior, unwilling to accept a poor grade, consequently justifying cheating as the only means to that end.
Before the teacher leaves, I am pretty sure the kids should know that they shouldn’t cheat on a test. But, they did it anyway. Even if you are innocent, you may be intimidated by those people and you may do it in other classes so this is a good learn-learn for everybody.
It is in every human nature to run after success and happiness. In this case, cheating can stimulate joy as it is sweet as sugar, but at the same time, bring sorrow by leaving saltiness in your tongue. Most of the people define success through academic achievements and qualifications; hence, to achieve this success, it depends on the procedures that individuals decide to use; where cheating is one of them. In normal circumstances, there are significant gambles on a test where the stake is substantial and irrespective of the preparation conducted, some random variables are unaccountable. For instance, there is this simple conditional phrase where “ask a friend for the math assignment” as it is not easy for anyone to comprehend the feeling of failure. Irrespective of what one ought to gamble on, it is critical to be committed to it, but not to doubt yourself on the same since issues will automatically start to arise. Apparently, I am not proud of
...ell out and the name I couldn’t remember was staring me in the face. The teacher had not collected my paper yet and I could have just taken it and written the answer and he would have never known the difference. Whether I cheated or not, I still thought about doing it since I did not know the answer. Simply not knowing the material leads students to cheat all of the time.
Cheating on exams is a violation of college standards; it is a misrepresentation of the student’s true capabilities. Cheating can be the worst form of deception, it is considered to be unethical, and it is the opposite of honesty. Forms of academic dishonesty may include copying from the test of someone within eyesight, crib sheets or swapping papers. Likewise because of technological advances, such as the I-phone some of these devices may be used to cheat as well. For instance an exam could be photographed and e-mailed to another student. I believe it is relatively safe to assume if a person is going to cheat on college exams, they are likely to make similar choices in other areas of their life. The practice of cheating can contribute to the moral decline of the family and society. Perhaps their need to be right is stronger than wanting to do the right thing. However, we all know what it feels like when someone cheats us; the cheater may not think that their actions affect anyone, however their can be unintended consequences. Consequently doing the right thing usually requires more time and hard work so the cheater typically rationalizes they do it because they did not have enough time to study.
The above discussion shows that there are many effects of cheating in exam. Therefore, schools should come up with strategies on how to reduce cheating in schools. The teachers can inform the students about the effects of cheating in exam. They should also come up with harass punishment if a student is caught cheating. This will reduce the cases of cheating, and students will be fully equipped for the job market. Therefore, students should know cheating in exams is bad.
