I believe that Stacey's friendship with T.J. is basically T.J. dragging Stacey around and getting him to do all of these things that Stacey would never do on a regular basis. In the book when Big Ma, Stacey, Cassie, and T.J. are in Strawberry and Big Ma goes to see Mr.Jamison T.J. gets Stacey to go to the mercantile with him to see a pearl-handled pistol. But their friendship can also be the other way around at times when T.J. wants to go do something bad and Stacey stops him. So in other words, it could be like Stacey is the father, always getting dragged around and also sometimes having to hold T.J. back or punish him, like how he beat him up and the Wallaces. And T.J. is the son always getting his dad to come and do things but also getting …show more content…
get away with so much because they are just best friends. Like when T.J. gets the new coat from Stacey and then he doesn’t have to give it back because his Uncle Hammer says so. And the entire time the book says that while Stacey is stopped by Uncle Hammer rules that “a man should not blame others for his own stupidity”, Stacey could have easily beat T.J. up somewhere secret and made him not tell anyone. But because they are friends Stacey let it slide. I also think that Stacey might not know something about T.J. that the rest don’t, I just think that Stacey is his friend and he also might let him get away with so much because T.J. isn’t as fortunate as Stacey and Stacey feels bad for him. After all, T.J.’s family doesn’t own their own land, they have to sharecrop on Harlan Granger's land, and T.J. has to live with even more brothers and sisters than him and also in a smaller house. That is why I think that Stacey even hangs around …show more content…
Even though the kids laugh at him and beat him up at school and in his own house, he still will not give up the only friends that he has because he knows that if he does, he won’t have any friends at all. I also think that Jeremy gives gifts to the Logans, like the nuts, and one specially to Stacey, the flute, because he thinks that if he gives them presents then they will like him more so that all the beatings and teasings will be worth it because he will have a group of solid friends that he knows will not abandon him. Jeremy’s friendship with the Logans is so sincere because there is so much proof that he does want to be their friends from his bruises that they comment on when they’re walking to school, to the gifts that he gives them, it is obvious that he really does want to be their friend. But his friendship is so dangerous, like David Logan explained to the kids, that at the moment he is a nice young kid, but when he grows up in a couple of years he will think of himself as a man. But he will still think of Stacey as a kid, plus he might become racist, so he could turn on the Logan kids and hurt them mentally, or

In books, the reader can usually relate to the characters with traits or preferences. While reading Schooled, a character I can make a strong connection to Darryl. Darryl makes lots of mistakes on accident the he didn’t mean to do. For example, when Zach and Hugh set Cap up to be hit by the football team, Darryl had been the one that hit him first. He and Cap were friends and he would never mean to hurt Cap in that way. After Darryl hit Cap, he felt lots of remorse that he had hurt a friend. I will do stuff like put a glass on a wood table and it gets stained. I didn’t even think about it but it still got me in trouble. Another way I am related to Darryl is that we both stick up for what is right. Cap is treated terribly by Zach but Darryl
Stacey goes through a lot of growth as a character, and most of it is done through her daily experiences and internal thoughts and battles with herself. Stacey faces most of her problems with silence, and rarely approaches anyone to communicate her feelings. These feelings and confusion begin to surface right from the start at Nora’s funeral. Stacey looks around at her own village and the people in it and the way they’re dressed and compares it to the funeral she had attended when her friend ...
In the beginning, John Proctor is described as a decent man, but throughout the story it is revealed that he has many layers of secrets that he must wrestle with internally before deciding to tell people in order to save his wife and friends from death. His crucible is the decision to tell the court that he slept with Abigail in order to save his wife, but in the process it will destroy his reputation and taint his name. His passion to keep his wife alive is shown when he says "My wife will never die for me?" (Miller, 76), but his passion to stay alive and to maintain a good reputation is shown when he says "It is not a child," (Miller, 96) in reference to Abigail Williams. He says this to give the perception that she is not a child, and what he did was not wrong. His anger with the inner conflict builds up and up until it is released when he says "I say God is dead!" (Miller, 111). This shows that this conflict within has made him lose faith, and brought him to the point of not caring what people think of him. So in the end he decides to release his secret.

“The Lottery” is a tale that was written in 1948 by American author Shirley Jackson. Throughout the story, there are multiple characters introduced, but the character who is most directly confronted with conflict after the climax is Tessie Hutchinson. At the point of the climax, Tessie becomes the protagonist of the story. Her actions also cause her to become the central character. She is a well-liked citizen of a village that participates in a lottery to determine which citizen will be killed as a yearly sacrifice to ensure a prosperous corn growing season. Mrs. Hutchinson is a round character because she starts off enthused and cheerful and even jokes around during general conversation as the village people gather to start the lottery
Throughout the novel, 1984, the audience gets to see the development of a relationship in a totalitarian government. A relationship sparked amongst Julia and Winston. Due to the binding force of the totalitarian government, the relationship was built upon corruption and betrayal. When Julia informed Winston that she had sex with an abundant number of people, Winston was incredibly joyful. "That was above all what he wanted to hear. Not merely the love of one person, but the instinct, the simple undifferentiated desire: that was the force that would tear the Party to pieces" (Orwell 126). To this, Winston didn’t care about love, whereas he only cared about rebelling against the party, and taking the party down. In addition, Winston and Julia
To Kill a Mockingbird is a coming-of-age novel. In other words, the protagonist will experience and endure inner growth and changes. There are many reasons why Miss. Strangeworth reminds me of someone that I know, and cherish very much. In all honesty, her personality accurately represents the most important person in my life: my own mother. It’s quite easy to tell that Miss. Strangeworth is a very meticulous woman, with a lot of perfectionist tendencies; a few of which are to nitpick people’s lives and make sure that even the most minute detail is up to her standards. Of course, organization and precision are good qualities to have, but at the extent used by one of my closest family members, and Miss. Strangeworth as well, they become flaws rather than strengths. For example, the other day, I ran
Being admirable and honest in the work that you do will gain the respect of not only your peers, but your loved ones as well. Also, how you develop your character can affect how others view you as a person and change your relationships with them. Davis (Juror #8) was an individual who cares about justice and who was willing to stand up against a crowd to do the right thing for another individual despite his mistakes. In the beginning of the movie he came off "as very soft spoken but throughout the movie he changes that. There were eleven votes for guilty. Juror 8 was the only opposing vote. Juror #8 believes that the defendant deserves a little empathy and believed that he could influenced that to the other jurors. I believe that Juror #8 was the knowledgeable juror of the 12 jurors on the case. Juror #8's arguments was not catching the attention of the other jurors
