The narrator of The Seventh Man shouldn't forgive himself for his failure to save K because he had the chance to save him and he didn't. I believe this because it was the narrator who went to the beach and K just followed him to see what was happening. Other stories also can tie in to show how this is true. That is why i believe this. He shouldn't forgive himself because it was him who went to the beach and dragged K along with him. Once they had gotten to the beach he also felt really bad like something was going to happen. Then he even made an attempt to yell for him but then ran away in fear as the story said. He was the only reason why K was put on that beach and why he wasn't pulled away from that wave that he indeed felt and saw was
