I. Introduction
Supply Chain Management (SCM) refers to a management concept, designed to synchronize and internal operational and strategic capabilities between enterprises and the integration into a unified, compelling market forces. As a general philosophy, supply chain management is focused on developing innovative solutions that create value for customers unique, personalized sources. Traditionally, the role of supply chain management business plays within the cement industry. Cement manufacturing process of supply chain management will enable the seamless and integrated logistics channel to maintain a continuous flow of cement source from raw materials to end users. In addition, (Supply Chain Management) is defined as `in order to fulfill (Ultimate Edition) customer demand and improve the overall competitiveness of the supply chain, the purpose of integrating

5, the use of alternative fuels and raw materials (AFR) is another new trend in the cement industry. Tyerchips, paint sludge and other industrial waste incineration kiln alternative to traditional raw materials and fuels
Challenges facing the manufacturing industry
• High capital expenditure needs of approximately 600 CR / t
• In addition to regular productivity and efficiency challenges facing such challenges cement production
- Environment: Mining activity leads to significant deforestation, noise pollution and emissions. As environmental regulations are gradually becoming more stringent in the cement industry is facing constant challenges to meet these specifications
- Human Resources: Most cement plants are located in inland areas and difficult areas. Besides cement plant produces many harmful emissions and dust. Because of these problems, they are not very bright and attractive place employees
-Labor Union: Cement plant uses a large number of whom are directly or indirectly the unions in organized labor. Successful management of the union, is the big challenge cement
History shows that there has been conflict of power within the workforce between union and management. This essay will discuss if management should have the right to determine whether a union should operate within their workplace. It is necessary first to discuss the roles of unions and management in the workplace and discuss both points of view on the power distribution between unions and management in the workplace.
In the 1960s through the 1970s, companies realized strong engineering, design, and manufacturing functions were strong market strategy keys to create and capture customer loyalty. As the demand for new products rose in the 1980s, these market requirements were to increase their flexibility and responsiveness to adapt existing products and processes or to develop new ones in order to meet customer needs. As manufacturing improved in the 1990s, managers began noticing material and service inputs involving suppliers and their major impact on an organization’s ability to meet customer needs. As a result of these changes, organizations now find that it difficult to manage their own organizations. First, they must be involved in the management of their network of all upstream firms that provide directly or indirectly, as well as the network of downstream firms, which are responsible for delivery and market service of the product to the end customer. In order to succeed, managers have to realize that they cannot do it alone and they must work together on a daily basis with the whole organizations in their supply chains. Because supply chain management involves all functions within an organization, managers need to know what a supply chain is, why it is important, and the impact of supply chain management on the success and profitability of their organization. Today, Wal-Mart topped the list of the America’s biggest companies on the Fortune 500 list, “with sales of almost $345 billion — more than a quarter of a trillion dollars” (Forbs). Wal-Mart’s supply chain management is becoming recognized as a core competitive strategy.
Mining can effect the environment majorly; one of these ways is deforestation. Before the mining process begins, the whole land that is being mined has to be cleared. Deforestation decreases the amount of habitats for animals. In worse cases this can even lead to death of animals. Land dredging happens when holes are filled with contaminated water. The holes then become a breeding nest for mosquitoes and other disease carrying insects. This can lead to spreading of diseases.
The main problems that are affecting the company were the high level of labour turnover, below target production rates, high levels of scrap, the employees had little input in the decision making, therefore resulting in low motivation and job satisfaction, and didn't have enough feedback on there performance. Added to this was the conflict between the supervisors and employees in the production and packing areas, and the grading and payment levels wasn't satisfactory to the employees.
Supply chain management is basically refers to the fundamental supply chain analysis of the organization which predominantly describes functionalities from source to the delivery point. In this process of delivery, supply chain management framework divides in four categories: In Planning the products and suppliers evaluated and selected, Sourcing pull the information process including contracting, ordering and expediting, Moving is a physical process from suppliers to end user and Paying is the financial process including payment and performance measurement.
During the situation of an issue, the labor union makes the negotiation process much easier for both the employee and the employer. As an employer facing the issue, it is easier to deal with the labor union since it simplifies the negotiations process and avoids facing multiple employees. For an employee on the other hand, the union represents the voice of the employee, which allows for higher employee satisfaction. In addition, there have been many incidents in the past where the union has found the solution to issues that could have otherwise taken a much longer time to solve. Moreover, another advantage of labor unions for organizations or employers is that they lead to less turnover.
Labour market is one of the biggest problems to hire new staff members because Fletchers need skilled and well educated staff son they can compete in growing market with innovative staff.

Supply chain management has been defined as that process that involves the management of information, materials, and all the finances that are handled within and across the entire supply chain process (Christopher, 2016). The management is usually done through out the entire supply chain management from that moment when the suppliers are involved through all the manufacturing activities, different distribution activities, and the way that the products are served to the final product consumer (Turban, et al., 2002). The process also includes all the activities that different organizations offers to their customers as after sale services for purposes perfecting their services and products towards their highly valued customers (Christopher,
‘Supply chain management integrates supply and demand management within and across companies. It encompasses the planning and management of all activities involved in sourcing and procurement, conversion, and all logistics management activities. Importantly, it also includes coordination and collaboration with channel partners, which can be suppliers, intermediaries, thir- party service providers, and customers’. Traditional literature in the field of labor relations has focused immensely on its benefit towards the employer and in the process equating it to working rules. This has been so despite the field being expected to cover the process of, labor management, union formation, and collective bargain; all which are anticipated to create a positive employer-employee relationship. This relationship is said to be positive if there exist a balance between employment functions and the rights of the laborer. Also important to note, is that this relation is equally important to the public sector as it is to the private one. Therefore, to ensure a mutually conducive labor environment exists, effective labor management process and inclusive negotiation program should be adopted (Mulve 2006; Walton, 2008).
Moreover, union helps organizations by providing ways of consulting with workers over changes and reducing the chances of staff resistance. All of these can lead to a more devoted and ...
Greenhouse gasses that are released into the air when mining are harmful to the environment and the release of dust particulates negatively affect the ecosystems around the mines. As well as the air pollution there is usually a large amount of noise. In Gauteng large scale mining has caused the dolomite rock to cave in which has resulted in large sinkholes forming and earthquakes.
Mining project starts with mineral ore exploitation and ends with post-closure period. Generally, each phase of its activity is influenced and associated with different environmental impacts. The first phase of mining is start with exploratory phase. During this phase, surveys are made and that include field studies and drilling test borehole and other exploratory excavations. Vegetation is cleared out so that large vehicles are allowed to enter.
In our days, mining for resources is inevitable. The resources we need are valuable in everyday life. Such resources mined up are coal, copper, gold, silver, and sand. However, mining poses environmental risks that can degrade the quality of soil and water, which can end up effecting us humans if not taken care of and many of the damages are irreversible once they have occurred.
