The practice of abortion has been around longer than the first legalization of it back in 1973. The implementation of a medical abortion is when there are medical and surgical procedures to put an end to a pregnancy. Since then in modern day America, people have been split on whether you are ‘pro life’ or ‘pro choice’. Pro life indicating you are opposed to abortion, pro choice being you are for it. The Catholic church believes that abortion is ending the life of a human and they stand with pro life. The action of abortion is wrong and is killing the life of a fetus and should be illegal. This is breaking the 5th commandment that God placed in the Old Testament. Catholics believe the beginning of life happens at conception. The Catholic church believes those who have abortions and those who perform abortions are in grave matter and committing murder. They are taking away the life of a potential human being. I believe that abortion is inhumane. You are taking the life away that you have created. I don’t agree with any of the arguments put forth by the people who are Pro Choice. There are no valid reasons for having an abortion. Saying “My body, my choice”. This statement is not entirely true. The fetus is not part of your body, they have a different set of DNA, possibly could have a different sex and they have a different blood type. That is why some Women develop Rhesus disease which occurs when the Mother’s immune system reacts against her fetus’ blood type. Abortions hurt the baby, most abortions are performed between 8 and 13 weeks, but the heart starts beating at 6 weeks and the fetus starts to feel pain at 7 weeks. By the end of the first trimester, the baby makes faces, kicks and even sucks on its own fingers. It is developing into a ‘real’ person. This is where the child’s life is being taken
