We live in an age of 24-hour news, thousands of TV channels and global Internet. There’s no longer any need to travel to the local library, spending time hunting down books. We don't even have to sit in front of a desktop computer in order to start searching the world wide web. The era in which we first-world citizens find ourselves has afforded us with virtual access to unlimited information at our fingertips. It’s now a permanent part of everyday life. Our children can’t envision a “stone age” culture without the Internet. We ingest Wi-Fi like air, as we are virtually never without it. The smartphone we cradle in our hands enables us, with a few finger touches, to explore, research and digitally download just about anything our heart desires. We are

In studying prophecy, we not only learn something about God and the future, but also something about ourselves. By nature, we humans are simultaneously both curious and apathetic creatures. We long to know, just not enough to make us uncomfortable or to change our routine. This is part of the challenge we face as we approach this area of God’s truth. We don’t just want to know. We also want to grow.
All serious Bible students must avoid the temptation of encountering shocking headlines or breaking global news stories and then trying to find a Bible passage that supports them. That’s not just melodramatic and unfounded conjecture. It’s also bad Bible study and sloppy theology. Reading the headlines in light of Scripture (and not vice-versa) is what gives us a clear and unchanging perspective not only on the future, but also on today. We begin, not with the news, but rather with the truth. And it’s not just about what might or will happen in the future. Ultimately, God’s prophetic truth influences your present life, marriage and family, job and school. It informs the choices you make, allowing you to properly prioritize the affairs of your life in a way that best honors

The internet is no longer just a source for research, as Cascio has said “ the digital systems we rely upon become faster, more sophisticated, and capable too” (Cascio). What he means by this is that we can rely more on technology to help us because it’s developing to become efficient to our daily needs. For example, there are tasks we can now complete on the internet that used to require plenty of time. Things like going to pay rent, purchasing groceries, or going to the bank are all things that can now be done online due to the faster, more capable power of the internet. Once time consuming or complex tasks are now simple to complete with just a few clicks. This is a beneficial concept to those who have busy schedules, have difficulties with transportation, disabilities that don’t allow them to maneuver much, or anyone who just doesn't have the time, patients, or ability to stand in long, never-ending waiting lines. According to the previously mentioned study done by Nanjing University of Science and Technology with the University of South Australia “elderly people are increasingly using mobile devices to conduct online banking, find jobs, access medical help, and obtain entertainment information” (Ma). This research goes to at the least provide an example of one group of people who have benefited from using the internet to make their life
A most interesting film detailing the history and role of the prophet in the Jewish tradition. The first question we must explore is what a prophet is. A prophet by definition is a person who speaks by divine inspiration. Others will say that a prophet is one whose eye is open. A person who can see things that others cannot. In order to understand the prophets and their appearance in history we must first understand the politics of the times.
As capitalism runs its course and develops new technologies, society is left to pick up the pieces and figure out where these new technologies will lead them. Ever since I learned to use the Internet as a child, I have become accustomed to seeing more and more fascinating technology developments that have changed the way I communicated as the years went by. Now that the Internet has infiltrated more aspects of human life, it has become necessary to reflect on how this critical juncture will continue to affect our society. In Digital Disconnect, Robert McChesney provides an analysis of the arguments that the celebrants and skeptics used to express their views of the Internet. McChesney then moves past these arguments to explain how the PEC plays a key role in determining the direction that the Internet is heading towards. By assessing McChesney’s views, I hope to develop my own interpretation of the Internet’s impact on society.
In the Bible, the book of Revelation can be intimidating to read or frightening to process the meaning of the words. Not only does it discuss Jesus’ second coming; it also expresses what will happen with earth, the people left on it, Heaven and also the believers that will ascend to live there for an eternity. There will be trials and tribulations that will occur on earth and to the people that are left behind. At the same time there will be praises and glory given to God by the people that trusted in Him and live in Heaven (Blackstone 11-13).
We have been counseled heretofore by prophets of old, "to seek learning, even by study, and by faith". We have an obligation to search the scriptures and to learn what the Lord is teaching us and warning us of. We must go forward with faith, and not backward. We must come unto the Lord, and not expect the Lord to come unto us.

When seen in the light of the unfolding drama of God’s plan to redeem Israel in chapters 40-55, the vicarious role of the servant lies at the very heart of the prophetic
This article makes you want to reflect on your own choices, and do better. Carr's writing makes us think about how dependent we are on the internet, and how much we really use it more which can be sad, but definitely eye opening. We evaluate the choices we have made thus far, and figure out a way to less dependent on our technology and Google. While reading this, you think: How long can the average person can go without the internet? How long can I go without the internet? How will I do better? Testing it out on yourself is quite surprising, you might last longer than you thought or crack right away. While using computers, we are vulnerable.
Today is an era of information explosion. In the past few years, many newly invented technological devices and software are now tightly integrated with our everyday lives. Today, people can look up almost any kind of information, make friends, communicate with others, and express ourselves with the simple touch of a button on a device we usually keep within arm’s reach. “Widespread use of technology is changing the way we work, learn, and communicate – even the way we carry out our regular, daily activities.”(Seifer and Mihalynuk) These devices not only benefit our livelihoods and increase our happiness, but they are also integral in advancing education, technology, development, and, in general, human evolution. The children of today, who have been raised in this era of information explosion, will undoubtedly reap such benefits and, in turn, advance society towards a better generation.
Dating back to when technology wasn’t as advance, people had a hard time traveling; communicating, and being entertained. It wasn’t until technology that came along and changed people’s way of life. The discovery of personal computers gave the consumer power of creating anything they can imagine, digitally, on a computer was what began engineers and scientist to help create a network that connected everyone’s content. Thus spawned the internet that was capable of sharing countless original content across the globe instantly and helped people communicate and interact as well with the World Wide Web. Through the internet, people created many different websites and applications for everything you can think of for example amazon.com, “Founded in 1994 and headquartered in Seattle, Washington” changed how shopped and sold products form companies and individual users. This all added up to cell phones being able to easily access the internet for anyone that had one. So everyone that had a cell phone can choose...
One of the side effects of this digital culture on our humanity is our new need for instant gratification. This trend places it roots way back in the dark ages of the early 1980’s. This is when the World Wide Web (internet) started to resemble what we know today. The internet gave people the ability to access scores of in...
The Internet’s influence on our lives has spread throughout. According a 2009 US Census survey 74% of Americans use the internet and have access within their household.A number that has increased every year since 1990 and will sure grow in the future. In this survey they relieved that they did various activities on the internet including social media, (Facebook and Twitter) researching and reading news articles, watching YouTube videos, shopping and so much more all can be done with a computer or Internet enabled phone. With this ease of use and convenience it casts a shadow upon the future of printed and broadcast information. The Web’s instant and vast knowledge bank has changed ...
Currently it is 2016; can anyone imagine life without the Internet? Imagine that living a life in the same way as old generations lived; travelling and seeking knowledge for days and days to get the information that wanted—it is exhausted. People used to travel days and days to see the one they love. Nevertheless, the world has changed significantly since the emergence of the Internet thus there are a lot of possible things you can do now that were hard or impossible to do before. People spend a long time on the Internet, hopping from website to website to get what they want easily and quickly. Yet, people consider that the Internet is the ultimate tool that brings the world into your own personal laptop or phone. Yes, it easies the process
