Archaeology is a continuously evolving field where there is a constant stream of new branches and excavation methods. Due to the influx of new technologies and innovations in recent decades, archaeologists have been able to excavate previously inaccessible areas. For example, new diving equipment and tools such as proton magnetometers, side-scan sonar, sub-bottom profiler, and miniature submarines have allowed archaeologists to dive into the deep depths of the ocean. As a result, the branch of underwater archaeology was created to search for shipwrecks and other artifacts on the ocean floor. Underwater archaeology’s role has increased in recent years as it allows archaeologists to more accurately interpret the past by supplementing information gained through traditional land excavations.
I have been to Florida a billion times, but there are only two places that I normally visit. Sanibel Island and Destin. Traveling to Sanibel Island is almost like a tradition for my family because every year we try to go down there. My grandparents first went to Sanibel with my whole family (cousins and all) about 15 years ago and ever since then, it has been our family’s main “vacation spot”. I have gone to Sanibel almost every year, but last year I also went to Destin. Now the main reason we decided to go there as well is because we wanted to travel somewhere nearby the panhandle of Florida. The water and beaches are also very contrasting in comparison to Sanibel. Sanibel’s beaches even had heaps of sea shells going out into the water. The sand is also more dense than that of Destin. Even Sanibel’s water is darker and more cloudy, so it was crazy to see Destin’s water so clear! The beach (which is called Emerald Cove, where I stayed at) had sand that was so white and soft it

The best way to get people interested in a novel is to title it Skinny Dip . Even better, one of the most effective ways to get people involved in Florida 's Everglades is by subtly making it the setting for a novel full of murder, sex, mayhem, and lots of comedy. Carl Hiaasen's Skinny Dip is an attractive read from the start. The title and the cover immediately call on the baser of human instinct. They are catchy and promise readers entertainment. It is a perfect marketing scheme. Even if a person were to see the novel but neglect to purchase it, there is a big chance that that person will read the cover preview… “Chaz Perrone…the only marine scientist in the world who doesn't know which way the Gulf Stream runs”… “Illegally dumping fertilizer into the endangered Everglades ”… “The warped politics and mayhem of the human environment”… Automatically, any passer-by skimmer of the novel will wonder: “What way does the Gulf Stream run?” At the same time, they get a glimpse into possibly un-chartered waters and gain minimal, yet important details about the Everglades, namely, that it is endangered and that ‘warped politics' are part of the reason. If an individual delves into the novel, knowing little to nothing about Florida 's Everglades, they get a crash course about Florida 's environment in an Everglades for Dummies kind of way.
The state government of Florida is made up of the executive, legislative, and judicial branches. The executive branch is headed by the governor and also includes other officials like the lieutenant governor, attorney general, etc. The legislative branch is bicameral with a house and senate similar to that of the United States legislative branch. The judicial branch mainly consists of the state supreme court and lower appeals courts in the state. Local governments exist within the state government and there are two types, general purpose and special purpose.
Located on the lower east coast of Florida the city of Miami is bordered by the Biscayne Bay and the Atlantic Ocean. Going east from the city the islands of Key Biscayne and Miami Beach help shelter the bay from the Atlantic Ocean, giving Miami a naturally protected harbor. The elevation of the city never rises above 40 feet and within most neighborhoods the elevation stays under 10 feet. The highest undulations are the Miami rock ridge which is found along the coast. A majority of the city lies on the shores of Biscayne Bay which contains hundreds of natural and artificially created islands, the largest being Miami Beach and South Beach.
The range-wide population of manatees is assumed to be at least 13,000, with more than 6,500 in the southeastern United States and Puerto Rico. There was “aerial surveys” that began in 1991. Info from the survey stated it was an estimation of 1,267 manatees in Florida. Today there are more than 6,300 in Florida, indicating a major increase over the last 25 years. The Conservation Commission (FWC)” recently led two natural status reviews of the Florida manatee that involved complete collection and mixture of population and range data; along with a wide spread display of population projections (FWC 2002, 2003; Haubold et al. 2006). Enduring studies of the Florida manatee show that there are four separate regional subpopulations, as
The day of my grandparents had told me they have been wanting to go to the Florida Keys and asked if I would like to join. So of course i wanted to go. Oh and when they told me i could bring a friend along i was jumping with happiness inside. They told me we would be going for a couple weeks and they had all expenses covered. So that day I started talking to Jamie and asking her when she would be back, because at that time she was in Florida visiting family. She had told me she would be back . So i asked her is she would like to join me and take a trip to the Keys with me. I could tell she was so excited when i asked her because she texted me back all in caps and said “CALL ME”. So i called her to let her know all of the details. So she ended up getting back .So when she got back from Florida we went to Walmart and bought a lot of
The probability that a harm would occur if care is not taken is low to medium, as there is a possibility of drowning and injury due to sharp corals and strong undertow, but it is arguably not a common occurrence. Unlike in Dederer, where there has been no previous injury before as a result of diving from the bridge, it is not known by the facts presented here whether past injuries have occurred as a result of swimming in an area of strong
Patagonia is a long-standing outerwear clothing company. From camping gear, to light fleece, to extreme insulated jackets, Patagonia has been one the main outdoor clothing companies in the last 20 years. It was originally founded by rock climber, Yvon Chouinard, whom created climbing equipment out of his own garage. It then grew to a multinational scale and now they are supplying stores all over the world. But with this large expansion, Patagonia prides itself on the lack of carbon footprint they have. They use recycled materials in their jackets, and they also donate one percent of their profits to the conservation of the environment. The nature-centered ideology is one that has been passed down from generation to generation
