On our 10-day 'vacay' we decided to stop for a several night stay-over at a quaint town which is halfway along the Florida Keys. It's called Marathon, and I
do credit it to the famous and wondrous Seven Mile Bridge. It should get billing as one of the 7 Wonders In Our Manmade World, and you'll see beautiful
watery scenes on both sides yet in different colors of blues and greens! Serenely breath-taking as the bridge goes from miles of flat driving over shallow
water to arching up high in the sky just as you embrace Marathon.
Another thing I've never experienced until my adventure was the ability to see 180° of sky, from the sea-level horizon on one side, up and across to the
water horizon on the north side, just jaw-dropping, as are the sunsets. If you're unusually fortunate, you may even catch a sighting of the rarity known as
the Keys 'Green Flash'. It only happens under special conditions during sunrises or sunsets, where the sun will appear 'green' but only for several seconds.
My companions acknowledged the fact that on a funds allocation of shoe-string proportions you can travel to the Florida Keys area, Marathon in particular,
yet still feel as you've left the U.S. behind and are in a tropical Eden of a foreign land. We didn't know that the United States had its own huge, living
coral sanctuary reefs! The dining was always 'to die for' also, especially if you're a fish eater. Surrounded by access to some of the most inspiring
fishing in the world, the prices are very good for differing kinds of fish. And if you are an animal/nature lover like 'yours truly', or have kids along,
there's exciting nature conservatories and museums to explore showcasing live animals like Gi...

...de of this island, it's less than 1 mi west from the Marathon airport.
This place likely has everything you'd expect of a world-class resort. Surrounded by coconut palm tree groves, the sand is glittering white, warm and
inviting!
There is a public airport here in Marathon, easily accessible from the major airport on the southern Florida mainland in Miami. A dazzling, eco-natural
environment of jungle-like, tropical archipelago of approximately 1,700 isles with miles and miles of pristine beaches, it's a casual playground but with
world class accommodations too. There's a Championship 18 hole course to golf nearby, close shopping, many state parks (some with tennis courts) and
specially protected area's for diving and snorkeling. The Florida Keys are verifiably a spectacular piece of our United States, with Marathon as a perfect
hub.
The only landmarks available to the eye are dozens of miles of ocean waves, occasionally broken up by an ocean going freighter or container ship that might sometime plod past the area, on their way inbo...
As I looked out the window of the restaurant, I could see the sun bouncing off the sparkling water below. Boats and other water craft scatter the water as well as people on water-skis and inner tubes. The picturesque view makes life seem so much better and just looking at the river makes a person calmer. The scene just described is the view from the window of a restaurant called Sophia in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and the corresponding river is the mighty Mississippi. Although Minnesota is the land of 10,000 lakes, this scene could be found right here in the valley of Phoenix. The way this is possible is through the Rio Salado Project.
I have been to Florida a billion times, but there are only two places that I normally visit. Sanibel Island and Destin. Traveling to Sanibel Island is almost like a tradition for my family because every year we try to go down there. My grandparents first went to Sanibel with my whole family (cousins and all) about 15 years ago and ever since then, it has been our family’s main “vacation spot”. I have gone to Sanibel almost every year, but last year I also went to Destin. Now the main reason we decided to go there as well is because we wanted to travel somewhere nearby the panhandle of Florida. The water and beaches are also very contrasting in comparison to Sanibel. Sanibel’s beaches even had heaps of sea shells going out into the water. The sand is also more dense than that of Destin. Even Sanibel’s water is darker and more cloudy, so it was crazy to see Destin’s water so clear! The beach (which is called Emerald Cove, where I stayed at) had sand that was so white and soft it
The resort is a magnificent place for relaxation- with many beaches, ruins, restaurants, tourist attractions, entertainment venues, and natural wonders.
It is an excellent destination for an amusing day of outdoor activities. Plus, you’ll get a bonus of astonishing scenic views.
You should know about the Bahamas because it will be a great place to take your family on a vacation.
A familiar sound, yet somehow different. Blinding rays of sun pound on any bare skin that it can find. Out of breath, yet every time a breath is taken it tastes somehow more fresh than those that were taken just hours ago. Water has never tasted as good as it does now. Not a single tree blocks my sight of the vast landscape surrounding. As far as the human eye can register are planes and smaller mountains that seem like nothing compared to Humphrey’s peak; appearing almost as if they could be devoured in a single bite if wanting a light snack. The mountains dissipate into the far land; the decreased visibility makes the far land around me seem like a ghostly

Florida is known for having soft white sand beaches and great waves. So for the surfing enthusiasts, you might be interested in riding the waves in places like Cocoa Beach, considered to be the small wave capital of the world. Or you could also visit Destin, Florida, and you may also try fishing which is popular in this area, being so close to the Gulf of Mexico known to
With its smooth pristine beaches, clear Caribbean waters and many luxurious resorts, it's no wonder that

A couple of years ago during one of those, on a whim after spending a few days in Arches National Park, my wife and I detoured to the snowy, icy south rim of the Grand Canyon. We journeyed toward it from the east side but got turned back at the National Parks’ gate; the road was snowed under from there on up. After retracing our steps, we traveled down to Flagstaff and spent the night, driving in my four by four truck up to the South Rim the next day. It was an eerie experience to stand on the edge of the South Rim and see only cloud; fog shrouded the canyon’s great gap, leaving us with visual doubts that anything was really there. Defeated, we hit the Visitor’s Center and gathered information so we could go back sometime in the spring or fall with weather more to our liking.
Most of the hotels are lavishly decorated, clean, and offer free internet and breakfast. The employees are always generous and courteous. The most popular hotel is called the Palace Resort. It has an outdoor pool, twenty- three floors, and is pet friendly. Most hotels are located in front of the beach withinwalking distance to the shoppingcenters. The amenities, staff, and locations are what make Myrtle Beach hotels great places to stay.
