Endeavor House Review Welcome to our Endeavor House review! Endeavor House became part of the Pinnacle Treatment Centers family in 2011. Pinnacle Treatment Centers was founded in 2006 with the acquisition of four treatment centers. Today Pinnacle has about 30 facilities over eight different states and they treat over 8,000 adults on any given day. Additionally, Endeavor House is CARF accredited and their programs range in length anywhere from a week to a few months depending on each client's needs. evaluation, individualized treatment plan, individual, group and family counseling, medical and psychological services, a nutritionist evaluation and dietary planning, educational classes on substance use disorders, twelve-step meetings, life skills development training, recreational therapy, and more. They also offer: • Inpatient rehabilitation • Intensive outpatient program • Partial hospitalization • Residential treatment program • Routine outpatient counseling • Transitional living program So it appears they have a thorough program for just about any need.
Medically Assisted Detoxification Program Upon admission, each client could require detoxification. Therefore, after the evaluation, Endeavor House has a medically assisted detoxification program for those who need it. This program includes around the clock supervision by a medically trained staff and the use of comfort medications to minimize the discomfort and reduce the symptoms associated with the withdrawal process. Treatment Programs Focus on the Whole Person Endeavor House uses programs that treat the whole person and not just the addiction. They offer extensive encouragement so each client can help maintain control, family counseling and sessions, education for improving problem solving and healthy living, and more. They also offer supportive therapy groups for safe sharing. And this is in addition to one-on-one counseling. Options Endeavor House does accept insurance and we'll cover that later in this review. However, they don't accept Medicare or Medicaid. Additionally, they don't appear to offer any type of financial assistance programs other than to say that they do accept private pay options for those who are uninsured or underinsured. Although, they do state that they will develop a financial plan that works for you. So it would be worth your time to contact them to see exactly what their financial plan entails. Treatment Costs Not Disclosed Unfortunately, Endeavor House does not publicly disclose their treatment costs.
And while that's not unusual, especially when a program involves customized care options, it would be more beneficial to potential clients if they at least offered some sample pricing, etc. This would help people make a more educated decision about whether or not any of their treatment programs are even an option for them without them having to take the time to make contact. No Aftercare or Alumni Programs Most rehabilitation programs offer some type of aftercare programs to help ensure greater success of their clients. In most cases, people who have completed a rehabilitation program will continue to need support to help them through any hurdles they might encounter. Additionally, an alumni program is just another avenue for like-minded people to get together and support each other. Therefore, we feel that Endeavor House should consider adding one or both of these features to their current program. [/the-bad]
[the-bottom-line] Endeavor House and the Pinnacle Treatment Centers family appear to be effective, reputable programs. They offer a wide variety of treatment options, a medically assisted detoxification program and they focus on helping the whole person versus just the addiction alone. However, there are a few areas we feel they could use a little improvement. We would like to see them work on adding a financial assistance program, give some examples of their pricing and to add aftercare and an alumni program as part of their offerings. The center combines a safe housing environment with structured educational programs that incorporate the philosophies of Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous. When horrific crimes occur in large cities, many of them can be chalked up to gang violence or to the larger population of that specific city. But when horrific crimes happen in small cities like Lincoln, Nebraska, people begin to ask questions like who did this and why. In 1958, a nineteen year old man named Charles Starkweather put the entire state of Nebraska and possibly the entire nation in a state of terror. With his murder spree taking only three days, Starkweather had collected a body count of ten bodies, including two teenagers and a young child. Understanding Starkweather’s past and state of mind begins to answer the second question of why.

A Harm Reduction approach to therapy begins with the intent to lessen any high-risk behavior that can be linked back to substance abuse. A treatment plan that focuses on the clients positive behaviors is developed. Hazardous behaviors are addressed through means of educating, and motivating the client. Once a client is properly educated in the positive ways to prevent or lessen harm through substance abuse, they are often motivated to begin to use their treatment as something that focuses on working towards complete recovery from their addiction. Moderation Management and Controlled Use is an approach that is intended to reduce consumption and therefore reduce harm to an individual. The individual is encouraged and taught productive ways to reduce drug intake and gain more control over situations that involve use such as limiting use, attending support groups, forming positive support system within their group of friend or wi...
This case study is intended to analyze the movie When a Man Loves a Woman, and to provide worst and best case scenarios for treatment. This film depicts a family that is struggling with a family member’s alcoholic dependency. The mother, Alice Green, is a school counselor who has an addiction to alcohol that is causing her to experience problems in her life as a result of her use. Her husband, Michael Green, is an airline pilot that is very protective Alice and often steps in and takes over for Alice, even in her role as a mother. Alice has two children, Jess and Casey, which also bear witness to their mother’s deterioration from alcohol addiction.
In patient programs can also be very effective, especially for those with more severe problems. They are highly structured programs in which patients remain at a residence, typically for 6 to 12 months. Treatment Centers differ from other treatment approaches principally in their use of the community—treatment staff and those in recovery—as a key agent of change to influence patient attitudes, perceptions, and behaviors associated with drug use. Patients in TCs may include those with relatively long histories of drug addiction, involvement in serious criminal activities, and seriously impaired social functioning. The focus of the TC is on the resocialization of the patient to a drug-free, free living lifestyle and delivers healthy coping mechanisms for individuals that have not been able to function in society without the use of a mood altering substance.
With the help of my family and employers, I resign from my job and enrolled into the University of Houston-Clear Lake. They motivated me into taking the first step into my professional career in where I achieved my bachelor’s degree in Fitness & Human Performance. It was there that I was given the opportunity to do my internship at Proactive Physical Therapy (PPT) and see hands on what to expect in a PT setting. To be a part of someone’s rehabilitation journey, from the moment you first see them at their initial evaluation, to when they are graduating and being discharged, is an incredible feeling to be a part of. A Physical Therapist often encounter patients that are at the lowest point in their life in which they would have to teach, coach, listen and motivate the patient to rehabilitate them. When TW came in for PT, he was down on himself because he had
When dealing with homeless substance abusers; case managers have seen improved outcomes when dealing with high risk behaviors by using a combination of services to help the client. Quality of life can be improved by focusing on living conditions, reducing psychiatric symptoms, improving occupational functions, social stability, and parenting skills (Rapp, 2014). The different approaches that are used to combat these addiction problems with the homeless are low intensity, outreach, clinical, strength based, brokerage, integrated and comprehensive care. These types of models are used and they have been proven to be the most effective; broker, generalist and strengths-based approach (Rapp, 2014). Resources that the substance abuser needs readily available are a safe, stable living environment such as halfway houses, shelter or transitional housing. Peer support groups that involve others that have suffered and worked through addictions by attending Alcoholics Anonymous are important to the client to give hope and support. The case manager 's job is to provide and link the client with needed services, focusing on their strengths and giving solutions to problems that keep them homeless and suffering from addictions. Generalist case management provides the traditional
There are many contributing factors and political issues that address substance abuse. Throughout the years, many researchers have designed many interventions and social policies designed to treat people who have used, abused, and became addicted to substances. Today, there are many new studies that address substance abuse at the individual, group, family, and community or policy levels. Today, there are many services that are effective for decreasing recidivism in youth who have completed a substance abuse program. A substance abuse treatment program or center is the best way to treat individuals who have abused substances.
There are many programs in the community that can provide those services. Some of those services include; employee assistance programs (EAPs), support groups, such as 12-step programs (Alcoholics Anonymous [AA] and Narcotics Anonymous [NA]) and peer support groups, inpatient treatment programs, outpatient treatment programs, individual counseling (Crowley, 2013). These programs are used to help bring the nurses back from their use of destructive substances to once again integrate back into society in a healthy way and also regain their ability to practice nursing.
Effective medications were available and varieties of treatments were broad. The purpose of deinstitutionalization was to give the patients a environment that is less restrictive. All though it was allowed a huge amount of patients were not successful in being a productive member of their communities. Most were homeless and others returned to state facilities such as jail.
The internship that I acquired during the summer of 2010 at the Greenwood Sports and Industrial Rehabilitation Center (GSIRC), allowed me to gain an immeasurable amount of experience during my tenure at this facility. Within this period, the exposure to new concepts within the physical therapy industry allowed me to observe and work hands on with patients of all ages and disabilities that exposed me to various treatment plans and programs to restore client’s mobility. The essential Physical Education and Exercise Science (PEES) courses taken at Lander University were beneficial to my academic knowledgebase, which prepared me and developed me for the opportunity within the physical therapy discipline. Working as an intern taught me the responsibility of time management and working within a lean schedule that allow me to further develop my skill set. This reflection paper will illustrate my classroom experience, internship experience, and learning experience.
After having attained a Bachelor’s degree in Zoology and a Master’s degree in Gerontology, I felt I should gain some first-hand experience in physical therapy and thus volunteered to work as a caregiver in a reputed Evergreen rehabilitation center Ga. However, while working as a caregiver I realized I needed to learn much more in order to provide better care in meeting the psychological and physical caring needs of the elderly. I have always had the inherent desire to serve the elderly in reducing their hardships and providing them with the much needed physical and psychological support so that they can lead a happy and trouble-free life.
