Background According to Robert S. Kaplan and David P. Norton (2007), a balanced scorecard is “to translate strategy into measures that uniquely communicate your vision to the organization.” This tool is valuable to any organization as it creates a better viewpoint of operations on an assorted variety of measurements. By gathering precise measurements and allocating a score to every listed type of measure, the score that is calculated can provide valuable information to the organization and the different relationships within. Coyote Community College has specified the categories they are wanting for their new scorecard. Student/Participant Perspective Measures The students are considered the customer and the focus should be on customer satisfaction. Measure of this includes customer service factors important to the students or participants such as time taken to deliver the service, price, quality and perception of the customer to meeting their needs. • Enrollment measured by increase school credit enrollment. • The percentage of citizen’s participating in programs measured by increase of both credit enrollment and non-credit participation. • Number of students completing degree and certificate programs measured by increase the graduation rate of Coyote’s programs. • Passing rates on licensure and certification exams measured by increase the licenses and certification obtained through Coyote’s programs. • Graduate placement rate measured by increase the value/impact of Coyote’s programs. • Graduate hourly wage measured by increase of reported salaries of Coyote’s graduates. • Course completion rate measured by increase course offerings meeting student’s needs. • Percentage of technology offerings measured by increase course offerings meeting student’s
