In a simple fictional world, characters are either good or bad, heroes or villains. The heroes almost always win and defeat the villains. In August Wilson’s Fences, Troy Maxson is more complex than that. He has both good and bad qualities. He is both a hero and a villain. Because of this, Troy can be considered an antihero.
Castle Vale was built in between 1964 to 1969 to accommodate 20,000 people (Mornement, 2005). In the early days, the estate was comprised of 34 tower blocks alongside a mix of maisonettes and houses. This area was initially redeveloped throughout the 60s to provide houses to the people who had to be relocated through slum clearance in Birmingham City Centre.
Fences presents three striking generations; between Troy, his father, and his son, duty and development are shaped by trauma. But Lyons Maxom, Troy’s first son, takes up a unique position between the generations. He has neither the unyielding will, nor the hard-fought independence, nor the gut-wrenching sacrifice of his father and brother. Instead, he has distance. Using dependence for independence, Lyons creates a space for himself that is almost a paradox: separate but intimate, scarce but filling.
There are many causes that molded Troy Maxson into the dishonest, cantankerous, hypocritical person that he is in August Wilson’s play, “Fences” (1985). Troy had an exceptionally unpleasant childhood. He grew up with a very abusive father that beat him on a daily basis. His mother even abandoned him when he was eight years old. In this play, Troy lies habitually and tries to cover himself up by accusing others of lying. He is a very astringent person in general. His dream of becoming a major league baseball player was crushed as a result of his time spent in jail. By the time he was released from jail, he was too old to play baseball efficiently.

Review of Rabbit Proof Fence by Phillip Noyce Introduction In the 'Rabbit Proof Fence', Phillip Noyce, the writer, takes into account the conflicting opinions over the 'stolen generation policy'. This was an Australian policy which involved taking half-caste aboriginals away from their families and homes, to be brought up in a white society. The policy was in operation between the 1930s and the 1960s.

The play Fences, by August Wilson describes the obstacles and situations which occur in families. He portrays many of his characters in a spectrum of characteristics and emotions. Overall, the play Fences explores the weaknesses and imperfections of humans. However, it also illustrates human compassion and kindness. In a way, this play is paradoxical in which selfishness and selflessness collide.
Boot Barn stated .70 debt to assets which is typically high making the financial strategy risky for the company. Boot Barn ratio shows that creditors back 70 percent of the company funding. The high ratio shows that Boot Barn is being financed with debt, rather than equity. The increase could be from a result of issuing new bonds or repurchasing common stock.
The Fencing Problem Introduction A farmer has exactly 1000 metres of fencing and wants to use it to fence a plot of level land. The farmer was not interested in any specific shape of fencing but demanded that the understated two criteria must be met: · The perimeter remains fixed at 1000 metres · It must fence the maximum area of land Different shapes of fence with the same perimeter can cover different areas. The difficulty is finding out which shape would cover the maximum area of land using the fencing with a fixed perimeter. Aim The aim of the investigation is to find out which shape or shapes of fencing will cover the maximum area of land using exactly 1000 metres of fencing material. Prediction I am predicting that the maximum area of land covered will be achieved by using the fencing shapes with the greatest number of sides.
