Careers in Medical Science The career I chose is in the Biological and Medical Science area. It was the closest thing that I could find to the actual specific career that I intend to pursue. I want to be an epidemiologist, which is a biological and medical science so the information that I found will apply. Epidemiology is the study of the spread of diseases, which includes vaccinations as well. This career interests me because I want to be in the medical field, but not a medical doctor. I want to work in a lab setting and perform experiments in hopes of producing vaccinations or breakthroughs in medical technology. I want to be able to gain a personal sense of accomplishment and have the chance to be recognized for what I may do. I want to help people in a huge way so that my discoveries can change people’s lives. In this field, regular hours are worked. Some of the hours may be in an office and others in a laboratory setting. A typical day would probably include about eight hours and a week would most likely be the usual forty hours. However, the scientist could decide when more time is needed and when it is crucial to put more effort forward. Currently, there are about 112,000 people employed in the United States in the Biological and Medical Sciences field. Most of the employees work in the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the Interior, and Defense, and in the National Institutes of Health. I know from my own findings that many epidemiologists work for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Military in biological warfare areas and infirmaries. Geographically, the jobs are more prevalent in bigger cities along both coasts and in the south near the Gulf. However, some can be found in government institutions all across the U.S. A current trend in this field as of now has to do with needle exchanges. Epidemiologists are working together with the government and several AIDS foundations and the provision of sterile syringes to, and collection of contaminated syringes from, injection drug users. This is supposed to help diminish the number of AIDS infections. Many epidemiologists from all across the US are working to support the government and the AIDS foundations in their cause. The educational requirements vary depending on the type of work you wish to do.
The career path that I want to pursue is in the medical field. I major in psychology and minor in biology because going to medical school has always been my desire. Being a pediatrician is my goal I wish to conquer. I am beyond interested and passionate about this career. It is not just a career, it is my life dreams. I want to be able to enjoy going to work every day knowing I love my job and I am here because I want to. Being a pediatrician I am able to work with children and many people of different cultures. I am thrilled to know that I will be capable of caring for sick children.
How would one know if there is life outside human life? Science makes that possible. Society would not know any type of information related to science, if there was no one investigating it. Thus, without the continuous advancements individuals produce, this information would still remain unknown. Physicists, microbiologists, scientists, biochemists, biologist and any other scientific-related career dedicate to further the growth in the scientific field. Endless effort is being implemented to give society the most efficient technology and up-date scientific findings.
Focusing on pursuing a career you like is important because statistics show fifty-two percent of Americans are unhappy going to work every day because they chose a career they didn’t have an interest in. My ideal job is in the medical field because I’ve always had a passion in helping people. I want to specialize in nurse anesthesia because of the important role they have in society. Nurse anesthesia interests me because of the tasks they do, the advanced education path they must take, and the history behind the profession.
The career I have chosen for my future is to become a registered dental hygienist. It wasn’t until I actually learned what dental hygienists do that influenced my interest from medical to dentistry. The first honest reason I was gravitated to dental hygiene was because of the salary. I didn’t really know what Dental Hygienist actually did until I did some research.

Many epidemiologists usually specialize in one or more of the following specific fields, substance abuse, bioterrorism, injury, chronic disease, or infectious disease. Even though there are different areas of epidemiology that are available, they all
I want to be a nurse, specifically a nurse practitioner. I have always been fascinated with the medical field and see a bright future in it for me. I have the opportunity of meeting new people every day with a variety of personalities. There is always something new to discover in this field. A nurse practitioner's job is to be able to diagnose and treat illnesses. They also prescribe medicine and run physical exams. Many great inventions have been made through research in biomedical engineering, for example, genetic engineering, cloning, and insulin. After insulin has been invented, there are still a lot of problems with the purity and the quantity of the insulin produced. Biomedical engineering devised a way to produce large quantities of insulin with a higher level of purity, which has saved a lot of human lives. Although biomedical engineering just been officially founded 200 years ago, its practice has been with us for centuries. According to The Whitaker Foundation website, 3,000-year-old mummy from Thebes, which uncovered by German archeologists, with a wooden prosthetic tied to its foot to serve as a big toe is the oldest known limb prosthesis and Egyptian listen to the internal of human anatomy using a hollow reed, which is what today’s stethoscope. No matter what the date, biomedical engineering has provided advances in medical technology to improve human health. These advances by biomedical engineering have created a significant impact to our lives. I have determined to become a biomedical engineer. Biomedical engineering will have a good prospect because it will become one of the most important careers in the future.
My Career The career field I chose is to be a firefighter. The reason why I want to be a firefighter is because they help people and prevent fires from spreading. I’ve always wanted to help people everywhere, because I don’t like it whenever there is an accident and some people die and lose their loved ones, people talking crap about them and just talking and pointing the cameras in their face watching them cry. I want to help people and make a difference and help protect people’s lives, and be someone people recognize when I walk by them.
In the future, I wish to obtain an occupation in the medical field. I would like to start out by working for a Biology major and working in a premedical field in college where I can use my interest in medicine and my curiosity for knowledge to gain insight that would be needed to become a helpful doctor in the medical field. As I move along in my career, I would like to work my way through the pathway so that I can expand my skills in healing others, such as diagnostic abilities, effectively giving treatment and so on. I want to learn as much as possible so I can fulfill my ultimate dream of helping others that need answers to their medical problems and so that more people can live happily and healthily in the world. I hope to bring happiness to others and allowing people to live comfortably.
Biomedical engineering is the application of engineering principles towards the medical and healthcare field. Biomedical engineers work in hospitals, universities, and research centers and generally design devices that are utilized towards improving human health. After earning my bachelor degree in biomedical engineering, I plan to pursue medical school and specialize in cardiology shortly after.

They may work in labs, pharmaceutical research facilities or even in biotechnology companies; their schooling teaches them how to solve health and medical problems using mathematics, engineering, and problem solving. This aids them in developing of the technologies and making it a reality. They are similar mechanical engineers but they deal with medicine and the human body instead.
