I chose floral design for my career. A florist does a variety of things in a retail flower shop. The main thing is arranging flowers. They prepare bouquets, corsages, funeral pieces, dried floral arrangements, and decorations for weddings, parties, and events. Depending on how much the owner asks of them, some florists are in charge of ordering flowers, ribbon, giftware, and other hard goods. Some also do the bookkeeping.
I Chose this career because when I was little I used to go to Garden Gazebo and my Aunt Linda would give me scrap flowers to play with. Then when my grandma bought it I would come up during the summer and watch the girls work. A year and a half ago I started working there. When I started it was just bookkeeping, but I spent a lot of the summer learning design. It’s fun working at the flower shop, that’s the main reason I chose this career. Also, I already know a lot about the business between working in the office and out in the store.
There isn’t much schooling needed for this job. An eye for color, design, and depth are most important. Most florists learn on the job. Working part time and summer jobs in flower shops and nurseries is extremely helpful. They must have a knowledge of flowers and plants. In some instances even the giftware part of a retail shop. One of the girls I work with started hanging around her mom’s shop in Jr. High, and worked there during high school and college. Then she went to a floral design scho...

A survey certified that average women spend about $13,000 on makeup in her life time. Not only that, but also spend 300 hours applying it. Beauty tends to increase the self esteem of women, they think more positive of themselves. Along with that like anything else cosmetology has revolutionized throughout the years. Focusing on pursuing a career you like is important because statistics show fifty-two percent of Americans are unhappy going to work every day because they chose a career they didn’t have an interest in. My ideal job is in the medical field because I’ve always had a passion in helping people. I want to specialize in nurse anesthesia because of the important role they have in society. Nurse anesthesia interests me because of the tasks they do, the advanced education path they must take, and the history behind the profession.
The career I have chosen for my future is to become a registered dental hygienist. It wasn’t until I actually learned what dental hygienists do that influenced my interest from medical to dentistry. The first honest reason I was gravitated to dental hygiene was because of the salary. I didn’t really know what Dental Hygienist actually did until I did some research.

Application of career theories to my own life allows for analyzing past and future career decisions. Holland’s Theory of Careers states that one’s vocation is an expression of self, personality, and way of life. There is an indisputable and fundamental difference in the quality of life one experiences if they choose a career one truly enjoys, versus choosing a career one detests. A true testament to the validity of Holland’s theory, my job/career choices reflect my interests, as well as the evolution of my personality (internal self). My first job as a fine jewelry specialist and second job as a make-up artist echo my love of the fashion world. As I matured and became less fascinated by presumed “glamour” careers, I became captivated by physical fitness, nutrition, and medicine; I received my national fitness trainer certificate so that I may become a personal trainer. Nevertheless, my career decisions do not fit uniformly into merely one career theory.
The career I chose is an Athletic Trainer. “Athletic Trainers are highly qualified, multi skilled healthcare professionals,” (“Athletic Training”). They are also known as a person who is certified in the field of sports medicine. I chose athletic training because it is more than taping ankles and stretching muscles to me. It is my two passions combined into one job. Athletic trainers help people grow on and off the field. I must understand what type of schooling and skills will be required, the income and future of this career, along with the experience and attitude I will need to succeed in this field.
When I was young I was always changing my mind on what I wanted to be when I grew up. With my many different interests it was hard to choose. I wanted to be a vet for a long time because I was what you could say, obsessed with dogs and wanted to work with them and maybe even cats but nothing else. When I was taking dance classes for a while I want to be a choreographer for a minute. One of my favorite tv shows was Americas Next Top Model so, I wanted to be a model. With all my many different interests and different careers I wanted, one thing is for sure and that has never changed my love for fashion.
of landscape architecture. This field interest me for several reasons. First, I have always liked to draw and design and growing up I always wanted to be an architect or engineer. I felt that engineering put too many limitations on creativity, so architecture was the path of choice. Then, after working with my father’s small business for the past 6 doing some landscaping and lawn care, I decided that since I enjoyed working with plants and landscaping that I might want to look into a profession that would allow me to continue to work in those areas. Landscape architecture seemed to be the next logical choice, allowing me to continue being involved in the landscape industry and also to work much like I would in the field of architecture.
Outdoor work has always been important to me, both on the farm and off it. As someone who enjoys working with my hands to accomplish something that is challenging and productive, horticulture was a natural field for me to look into as a career. Horticulture requires both physical strength and mental ability that is practical and based on solving a real-life problem, rather than simply being an intellectual exercise or on arbitrary conditions. Horticulture as a term is a rather broad definition of a variety of careers and activities; is it merely backyard gardening or is it biological research culminating in genetically modifying plants for the advancement of our economy and well-being? The answer is honestly both, and in this aspect, horticulture is a rare field of study offering both simple (on the face of it, at least) manual labor and incredibly advanced research and study careers. Horticulture is also rare in that it has ties to both age-old practices and traditions of gardening and plant production and new-age philosophies of environmentalism, research, and science. People have been cultivating plants for decoration and sustenance for millennia, and horticulture is the best term to describe these activities. However, horticulture is also the best description of the work done by scientists, researchers, and educators to advance our knowledge of both how plants grow and develop and how the world can utilize these properties. With that being said, to learn more about careers in horticulture the following research paper will describe the definition of horticulture, the education and qualifications necessary, and the specific careers available in horticulture.

All together the career of becoming an interior designer is a career that I could see myself pursuing because it has many interest that I would like to explore and also it is a career that I see as a great beginning for the future of my adult life into becoming a more better and skilled designer whether it’s an interior designer or fashion designer or graphic designer.
In summary, throughout my life many career choices have crossed my mind. I have tried being a stay-at-home mom and a hospital employee. I am working on trying computers. The path I chose in computers is yet to be decided but the opportunities are vast. My current path leaves me many opportunities in healthcare and computers but the possibilities do not stop there. With further education I could still do anything.
Choosing a career is one of the most important decisions a person has to make in their life. It is so important because that is what we will have to do to support ourselves throughout life. Imagine being stuck in a dead end job and having to go to work every morning and dreading it. That is no spending oneÕs time and life is too short to work 35 years and be unhappy with it. If a person likes the job they do then it is not work, because finding satisfaction out of a job can bring great happiness. That information has enabled me to make the decision of choosing my area of study and career in the field of Information Technology.
