Introduction

If you are considering studying in Canada for your post-secondary studies as either a part time or full-time student, you may be eligible for a Canada Student Loan. The Canadian government has funds in place to help certain students attain their post-secondary educational goals. The students can be applying for bachelor’s degrees, post- graduate diplomas, or post- graduate courses such as master’s degrees or PhDs. The Canada student loan program will cover the cost of these courses partially or in some cases completely. The loans may or may not cover the student’s costs depending on the location of the student within Canada.

Full-time students must be enrolled in at least 60% of a full course load. This is less (40%) for students with a permanent disability. In the case of a part-time student he needsthey need to be enrolled in between 29 – 50% of a full course load. Students that have permanent disabilities who are studying between 40 -59% of a full course load can select to be considered as either a full-time or part-time student in relation to the Canada Student Loan program. The students must be enrolled in a degree, diploma, or certified program offered by an authorized post-secondary school that runs the course for an adequate period of time. Students who are 22 years or older will additionally need to have a good credit score in order to pass the credit check. The MSFAA is a legally binding document so you need to review it carefully. Do the same with any other documents you are sent. Also make sure that your personal information has been recorded correctly.Contact the financial assistance office if any changes are required., and change these by contacting the financial assistance office if need be.

Step 6. Submit loan documents.

Sign the MSFAA and bring it to a Canada Post outlet. The process will require you to have a valid photographic identification issued by the Canadian government. Additionally, you will have to supply your Social Insurance Number (SIN) as well as your banking details.

Final Step. Confirmation

Your school will have to confirm your enrollment into a program of post-secondary education so that your Canada Student Loan is process and finalized.
