Burden of Beauty

Rarely is one individual blessed with both brains and beauty. Most people are born with one or the other; those having brains sometimes are unfortunate in the “looks” department and those blessed with beauty can be unfortunate in the “smarts” department. As with most things in life, there are both pros and cons to being beautiful. In certain incidences beauty can be a blessing, but in others it can be a curse.
Beautiful people suffer a lot from stereotypes. They are often seen as “bimbos”, “airheads,” or “dingy” and others may assume that beautiful people are rude, stuck up, and/or think they are better than everyone else. Assumptions are made about beautiful people before someone really gets to know them. Individuals with tremendous wealth often seek out young beauty as a way to add meaning to their life. Older, wealthy women seek out young, beautiful men while older, wealthy men seek out young beautiful women to date or marry. Beautiful people in this types of situations usually make looking good their profession and do not seek a career of their own. Rather they live off of and spend the money of their wealthy spouse or significant other. This does not become a burden until they are no longer young, beautiful and their rich, famous spouses are ready to trade them in for new, younger models. It is then that their beauty becomes a burden and they are left with no “meal ticket” and no means of taking care of themselves and maintaining a life style they had become accustom to when married to a wealthy spouse. Most wealthy individuals require their beautiful counter parts to sign prenuptial agreements before marriage which leave them with the inability to sustain a life style they grew accustom to while married.

...eautiful people do make the average person feel like they have something more powerful than the beauty their victim posses.
While beauty may be a blessing in youth, it is wise for beautiful people to realize that one day they will be looking at a face they no longer recognize in the mirror. If beautiful people can realize that their beauty is only skin deep and that one day it will be gone, and can live a life non stereotypical of beautiful people they can enjoy the benefits of being beautiful but able to make the transition from beauty to aging in a healthy way. It is wise that for beautiful people to realize when they are young that one day they will not be able to survive in the world on looks alone and spend their youth not using their beauty over old fashioned hard work, and create a life that will be carry them from their youth through their elderly years.
