Recommended: Theoretical framework about bullying

Bullying is an on going problem that I feel isn't going to be fixed by some bill passed by the state. I don't know a lot about this bill that was passed but from what I've heard I don't think it's a fix this "problem." I feel that the word "bullying" is a term that is over used, not use correctly and miss perceived by many people. Now I have been bullied, bullying to me is making comments to bring someone down such as, "your going to eat all of that?" to mean remarks calling someone a slut, whore, bitch, etc. everyone's view of bullying changes in every grade and from person to person. Some people are more sensitive to comments as I explained, but some really don't care what people say to them or about them. I have been a victim to bullying, normally attacks on my self-esteem, looks, the way I talk, what I wore, what I drove, my grades, what I did in my personal life, pretty much whatever they could get their hands on to make me feel like crap is what I experienced. …show more content…

Now this hasn't happened for 3 to 4 years now but I've been there. With these experiences it's really made me quiet in nature and don't say anything unless I feel it needs to be said. I guess you could say Iv bullied too but again that's how a person eye perceives it. I've seen kids being bullied, I see them nit picked and teased like I was but I guess I just want to see them stand up for themselves like I had to. I feel many other people feel the same way I do, that the victims should stand up for themselves because they don't think it's going to stop the bully from attacking them if they stop it for the victim at that moment. Now I'm not sure where shooting and stabbing became the "answer" to bullying in some peoples eyes

    To begin with, bullying happens all around you and yet barely anything is being done about it. No one will stand up or speak up either until its too late or not at all. The laws don’t help enough. The law we have in Florida is the Jeffrey Johnston Stand Up For All Students act. That act states that anyone in the school- students and teachers/ staff member, that is subjected to bullying, is prohibited. If they claim it's illegal why do they either don’t do anything at all or take to long to find a solution.Not even all the states in the U.S have an Anti-Bullying law. Only about 49 states have laws against bullying and only half will actually end up have an actual serious consequence. Each state has a law after someone has been bullied to an extreme extent. With that, does that mean someone must encounter a tragic encounter to get a law? They can take too long once the bullying was reported to take effect. When they report the bullying, a lot of times the police of the school or administrators take too long or deal with other "more important" things then to deal with your case.Since that, it would keep going on (the bullying) until someone crosses the line and something will happen. Such as maybe the bullied child committing suicide or running away, and yet all that could have been prevented if they would have just dealt with the case.

    Not only is it already hard to be a teenager, but having to deal with constant teasing and harassment is just something no one needs. There is a point in life where bullying can become so terrifying that students will rather stay at home than have to face their bully. Darnell “Dynasty” Young is a 17 year old gay teen who has gone through every possible way to stop his bullies from harassing him. His mother has tried everything but hasn’t been able to put a stop to it. Until one day, Young’s mother bought Darnell a stun gun. His mother told him to bring it to school and when the bullies began to torment him to take it out. He did just that, he did not actually shoot anyone he just waved it up in the air to intimidate his bullies. He not only got suspended but he also got arrested, yet the six boys teasing him and calling him names received no punishment whatsoever. (CNN) Young is one of the many kids that go through this type of abuse in a place where they should feel safe. This is an example of the school failing to do anything to prevent this kind of behavior, even after the parents try to intervene. This is also a great example of parents failing to implement high behavior standards by enforcing them to retaliate. Parents should be there to advice a peaceful way of resolving this in a non violent way not give them the weapon. By implementing prevention programs such as activities that help fight bullying can ultimately lead to the end of this horrific thing some kids face each day.
