According to an article in the Boston Globe, a student named Hunter Rogers Perkins committed suicide after being kicked out of school, accused of bullying others. With the growing amount of similar scenarios, school officials have been questioning whether or not bullies should be kicked out of school. Bullies should not be kicked out of school because if you start kicking them out almost everyone would be kicked out, bullies will hurt themselves, and they deserve a second chance. Kicking the terrorizers out is a lot of hassle and they should be given another opportunity to improve. Schools should educate the bullies to correct their behavior rather than just expel them from school. If you start kicking bullies out, almost everyone would be kicked out. Let’s face it, there are a lot of people that have at some point emotionally or physically hurt someone, unintentionally. Bullies are insulting and nasty, but usually have a motive behind it. As mentioned before, a 16-year-old sophomore named Hunter Rogers Perkins killed himself after being accused of bullying. Reporters say, “The teenager was on medication for depression and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, and had received psychiatric treatment last year for purposely cutting himself”. This explains the poor boy’s motive behind bullying others. Another point is that suicide rates for the bullies have started to increase. Barbara Coloroso, a specialist on bullying and author of a number of books says, “Recently there has been a spate of suicides by bullied students.
