Brutus is convinced that Caesar will become a cruel ruler and will destroyed Rome. Brutus allows Cassius to”mirror” (change)his thoughts and emotions about Caesar. Cassius persuades Brutus by persuading that he is more powerful and more noble than Caesar will ever be. If Brutus knew his own strengths and weaknesses he would understand that Cassius was trying to manipulate him to become a conspirator. Brutus is unaware that Cassius is just using him to reach his own goals (killing Caesar). Another one of Brutus’ flaws is he tries too hard to prove to the people of Rome that is honorable and noble.Brutus meets with the conspirators at his house before the killing of Caesar to convince them that they have to kill him nobly. Brutus is telling the conspirators that the only way Caesar can be stopped is through his own blood. He tells the men we have to kill him boldly without anger, the conspirators should be angry only for the deed and then act disgusted by killing Caesar. . This will make the conspirators actions seem practical. If they appear sane to the people, they’ll call them heroes rather than murderers. Brutus thinks by doing this the people of Rome will not be bothered about him killing Caesar because Brutus muses that if he is a part of the killing of Caesar the people of Rome would be laudable and welcome him with open arms.
