Billionaire by day, hero within the shadows by night. Bruce Wayne walks down the corridor in the dead of night to a room where he finds solitude and justice, otherwise known as the Bat Cave. “Mr. Wayne, I must inform you of a terrible weather system heading our direction.” “Thanks, Alfred. I’ll check up on it.” Alfred Pennyworth, the beloved family butler and bodyguard to the Wayne family. Bruce knows that he relies heavily upon him with his secret of his double lifestyle. *Drip, Drip, Drip* Bruce hears the sound of rain steadily running down the sides of the Bat Cave and decides to research the upcoming storm system. *RRAARRRAARR* “The weather alarm hasn’t gone off in years. What is going on out there, Alfred?” asks Bruce. “It appears that an F-5 tornado is headed straight for …show more content…
Gotham, Mr. Wayne.” Alfred replies monotonously. “There hasn’t been a tornado in Gotham for as long as I can remember. I’m going to check it out.” says Bruce. The sound of a door swinging open appears in the background and Bruce walks over to a hole in the wall and glances up to the suit hanging in a glass encasement. He opens the glass door and takes the suit out and puts it on while reminiscing past experiences. Bruce then jumps into his mobile and travels toward the tornado. As Bruce pulls up to the edge of the city, he notices that this isn’t an ordinary tornado; this tornado appears to have sharks within them.
*GASP* “A SHARKNADO!” exclaims Bruce. Bruce then hops out of his mobile and he hears the soft bellows of concerned citizens of Gotham in the distance. “It’s Batman! He’s here to protect us!” Batman then moves quickly to get to the tallest building on the edge of the city to hopefully alter the direction of the Sharknado. As the Sharknado made its appearance closer to city, Batman felt the powerful winds pulling him toward the center of the funnel. All of a sudden *WHOOSH* Batman jumps into the Sharknado and plants a device on one of the sharks that will alter the direction of the Sharknado away from Gotham. *POW* Batman was suddenly thrown out of the whirlwind and smacks into the side of a building. As Batman regains consciousness, he looks up and notices that his plan worked! The Sharknado is headed toward Gotham Harbor! *BOOOM* The night sky lights up like fireworks as the Sharknado exploded in the distance. Batman saves the city of Gotham once again! “It's not who I am underneath, but what I do that defines me.” Batman mutters under his
breath.
At first thought you may think it’s hard to consider Batman as being a Christ-like figure. In The Dark Knight Returns the character Batman expresses a large amount of violence and an unforgiving personality which is unusual for a superhero. Batman encounters many hard and crucial decisions that he must make throughout. For instance, the encounter
Likewise, the old Batman (Bob Kane's incarnation) contains many similar elements. While he is orphaned when a criminal murders his family, he is also wealthy. In the first comic series he is depicted as the victim of the unrestrained greed of the poor—suggesting some biased assumptions about class differences (remember Odysseus is actually the King of Ithaca). As a result of his traumatic past, he becomes a"dark knight" to pursue criminals at night, the ideal time for crime, and dresses as a"bat" to induce fear in the
But I do know one thing, Batman was there for us when we needed him the most. He separated us from our darkest nightmares every night. He guarded our houses and protected our families, our friends, and our children. Batman stood up for what he believed, he always had us, the people of Gotham in his best interest. What more could we have asked Batman to do? I could stand up here and say "I never knew the man," but that might not be the truth. During my life, I have known many men, many men who are full of strength, courage, and virtue. Any of these men could have been the Batman and I would have never been aware. However good men still walk among us today, even without Batman. These good men and women are my hope, my consolation for
In origin, a hero is an archetype character that refers to protectors, warriors, or god-like man who protects humanity. For instance, Hercules was a hero in Greek mythology. In modern culture, heroism is recognized as an extremely popular trait that a character can possess. In this case, Bat Man, also referred to as The Dark Knight, is indisputably idealized as a hero. Unlike most superheros in comicbooks culture, Bat Man is a simple human being with absolutely no superpowers. Regardless of that, he as a simple human being still exhibits the courage, intelligence, talent and the necessary skills in fighting crime and defeating potentially hazardous villains seeking to either rule the world or cause destruction. In detail, Bat Man’s real name is Bruce Wayne. Bruce was 10 years old when his parents were murdered which fundamentally change his perception about the world. After his parents’ death, Bruce inherited a multibillion dollar company that his father created before his birth, which explains why he has the most advanced technology to help him fight crime. While growing up, Bruce trained himself to fight and had been working out. One night, he came to the conclusion that Gotham city is falling into the hands of criminals. For that reason, he convinced himself that it should be his obligation to prevent it, although he needed a hero identity to hide his real identity
The purpose of this paper is to provide the reader with an insight into the Super Hero Series Batman. This crime fighter originally appeared in Detective Comics issue #27 in 1939. It later became a comic book series, a TV series and a movie series. The character Batman is second only to Superman as a Super Hero. Amazingly Batman has no super powers, but he does have a lot of neat crime fighting gadgets. In this paper, we will explore the creation of Batman, his supporting cast of characters both good and bad and the gadgets he used.
He is told that Bane will allow him to heal and live in the pit, which is essentially a prison, as Bane destroys Gotham, so Bruce can see the extent of his defeat over television. This is Bruce’s lowest point in the story, but he is given a beacon of hope by some of the other inmates in the pit. He learns of a boy that once made the climb out of the pit by making a jump that to every other man has been impossible. This jump gives Bruce a purpose. He recovers from his injury and trains his body to make the jump. News reports of the situation in Gotham motivate Bruce to try to return to Gotham before Bane destroys his city. The jump provides an opportunity to make the metaphorical rebirth my tarot reading had alluded to. According to The Wild Wood Tarot, the Eight of Vessels represents an opportunity for “looking at the past, acknowledging [a hero’s] mistakes and learning from them, [to] grow and attain new wisdom”(137). This is exactly what Bruce does. During the time in the pit he stops doubting himself and improves his physique, so he is both mentally and physically prepared for the jump. When he is ready he makes he leap out of the pit and returns to Gotham to attempt to save his city from the nuclear explosive Bane is threatening to
The movie begins with a young Bruce Wayne playing outside with his friend Rachael. Bruce steps on some rotten boards and falls into a well sustaining minor injuries. Suddenly he is overcome with a flock of bats living in the wells caverns terrifying him. Throughout most of his childhood he retains this fear of bats and anything even remotely bat-like
Batkid Begins, is a feel good movie documentary, featuring a young boy (Miles) who has leukemia. Ever since he was a kid, Miles enjoyed watching superhero cartoons, particularly batman. Miles wishes to be the real batman. This movie shows how the city of san francisco came together to make his wish come true.
Batman (Christian Bale) is hoping to hand on his crime fighting duties to D.A Harvey Dent (Aaron Eckhart) yet when Batman’s cards are on the table the twisted mastermind who goes by the name of the joker (Heath Ledger), forces the masked vigilante to go against everything he ever stood for.
I was wearing a Batman T-shirt. I am a huge fan of Batman. I read some of the Batman comic books. Furthermore, I like Superman as well, but I didn't think he was better than Batman. Plus, I didn't know much about Superman’s history. The first scene I saw was when Bruce Wayne had a dream about his parents been murdered outside of the movie theater. Then he fell into a cave full of bats; the bats flew out of the cave and lifted him up. In all the Batman movies that I have seen, I never saw Bruce Wayne as a kid get a lift out of a cave by a bunch of bats. To me, that was very puzzling because that didn't fit into the
However, Harvey doesn’t know about the two of them, leaving himself free to be happy with Rachel. Though there is conflict in Bruce Wayne’s eyes between himself and Harvey, he is looking up to Harvey hoping that he will be the savior of Gotham. Bruce Wayne decides that “Gotham needs a hero with a face” (TDK 48) and proceeds to throw a party for Dent in order to get his name out. With Harvey Dent being the big picture, Batman would no longer be needed, meaning that Bruce Wayne could go back to only having one identity. More often than not, Bruce struggles with paying an equal amount of attention to both Batman and Bruce Wayne.
While he was on his way, the dark night had caught up to him. He was on his Batcycle and he was trailing close behind the loaded bus. Batman quickly pulled out his Batclaw and grappled his way up to the top of a building. He scoped out the bus and jumped. He descended until he was close enough to the bus. He then fully expanded his wingspan and drifted on to the top of the fast moving bus.
No matter what Batman has to do; he makes sure that their authority and that the people of Gotham city is safe, at any means necessary. A scene in The Dark Knight, where Batman is a shows authority, is When The Joker puts fear in the Gotham people. The people are so afraid that they try to leave Gotham city; they get onto two boats, which are rigged with explosives. Batman takes begins to take authority; H...
