“Where justice is denied, where poverty is enforced, where ignorance prevails, and where any one class is made to feel that society is an organized conspiracy to oppress, rob and degrade them, neither persons nor property will be safe”( Douglass). This famous quote epitomizes the philosophies of Frederick Douglass, in which he wanted everyone to be treated with dignity; if everyone was not treated with equality, no one person or property would be safe harm. His experience as a house slave, field slave and ship builder gave him the knowledge to develop into a persuasive speaker and abolitionist. In his narrative, he makes key arguments to white abolitionist and Christians on why slavery should be abolished. The key arguments that Frederick Douglass tries to vindicate are that slavery denies slaves of their identity, slavery is also detrimental for the slave owner, and slavery is ungodly.
Lactation consultants are a vital part of the healthcare system. Together with the rest of the healthcare team they make sure that mother and baby's care as a breastfeeding pair is complete. The International Board Certified Lactation Consultant represents the "gold standard" in lactation consultant credentialing. Lactation consultants who carry the credentials IBCLC behind their names are specially trained and qualified to assist with every aspect of breastfeeding. I chose the topic of lactation consulting because I feel strongly about being a breastfeeding advocate. I believe that those in the healthcare field, especially the people involved in woman’s health and pediatrics should be knowledgeable in this area. After all it has been found that breastmilk is the best source of nutrition for infants.

The 1920's was a time when cultural and social changes began to take place in the history of the United States. People began to grow in prosperity, change the rules when it came to morals and manners, and the cultural civil war of individual rights. This is the time when women are fighting for their rights to be equal in comparison to their white male counterparts. During this period women are realizing their impact on how society functions and the roles they play. This was the beginning of the true feminists’ mission. After “August 23, the day when the Tennessee legislature finally enacted the Federal suffrage amendment" (Eastman,
Kim Davis is currently considered a hero of religious liberty to many Christians around the world but her “heroic acts” can very easily be identified as unlawful actions. Mrs. Kimberly Jean Bailey Davis was elected County Clerk for Rowan County, Kentucky, back in 2014. Luckily for her, the United States laws were not a problem when it came to her religious beliefs back when she was elected. However, on Friday, June 26th, 2015 the Supreme Court ruled that same-sex couples can marry nationwide, establishing a new civil right and finally giving gay rights advocates a well deserved victory. Recently Davis has chosen to expressed her religious beliefs at times where most would find inappropriate. She is a Christian with a particular set of views,

Because of ”tethering” only on smartphones, distraction could be the sereve problem to adolescents. Regarding smartphones offer many accesses to social media where most adolescents could look for something interesting and people like them, they are willing to check their phone constantly. Flora Carlin explores that when checking and focusing on smartphones, the stress of temporary distraction may create potential long-term brain damage. According to “a big concern is not just how teens are using their phones but rather the ‘technological anxiety’ and nomophobia (the feeling someone gets in the absence of their phone), that distract them from other tasks”. It’s a big concern that smartphones are making adolescents less capable of resisting urges.
When I looked up the definition of liberal on vocabulary.com, the word liberal was described as someone on the left wing of politics, someone who is the opposite of an conservative and has an liberal attitude toward anything means more tolerance for change. There are several ideas associated with liberals. In the article "Conservative vs. Liberals Believes". There are several believes associated with liberals. One of them being abortion. Liberals believe that a woman has the right to decide what happens to her body. The fetus is not yet considered human, it doesn't have any rights. Liberals believe the government should provide taxpayer funded abortions for women who can not afford to get one. Another believe that is associated with liberals
This week’s clinical experience has been unlike any other. I went onto the unit knowing that I needed to be more independent and found myself to be both scared and intimidated. However, having the patients I did made my first mother baby clinical an exciting experience. I was able to create connections between what I saw on the unit and the theory we learned in lectures. In addition, I was able to see tricks other nurses on the unit have when providing care, and where others went wrong. Being aware of this enabled me to see the areas of mother baby nursing I understood and areas I need to further research to become a better nurse.
B. Client will learn different positions for breast feeding that may make the process easier for her.
During one of my shifts on postpartum I was helping a nurse look after a mom with her first baby. She really wanted to be able to breastfeed but she was having a lot of troubles getting her baby to latch on. It was a Saturday and there was no lactation consultant working who could come in to help her. Her baby was also small for gestational age, so she did have risk for hypoglycemia, making it really important for her baby to be feeding to ensure her blood sugars would not drop. After each attempt at breastfeeding and being unsuccessful, the mom would look very upset. The nurse tried to help her by showing her different breastfeeding positions and techniques and teaching her to express her milk and put it in the baby’s mouth. The
