Bobbi Brown and Her Path To Success Bobbi Brown is one of the makeup and skincare industry’s most influential people. She, along with her very successful brand, has become a household name. Through the use of good quality ingredients and strategic advertising she was able to climb her way to the top, make a name for herself, and ultimately became a positive role model for other women who did not want to stay at home for the rest of their lives.Growing up, Bobbi Brown was always interested by makeup. She also created her own website for her makeup called bobbibrowncosmetics.com. She also released an extremely popular and loved magazine/ blog called Everything Bobbi Brown. She, in a collaboration with Safilo, launched her own collection of both sunglasses and eyeglasses. She has also been very influential in both major internet companies and areas of importance in our country’s politics. For example, in 2010, President Obama appointed Bobbi Brown as a part of the Advisory Committee for Trade Policy and Negotiations also known as ACTPN. In other news, in 2014, she was appointed Editor-in-chief of yahoo beauty. Today, Bobbi Brown’s company is one of the most well known and beloved brands out there. “Today, the brand sells more than 23 million products a year, the equivalent of about 2,735 products an hour, or 46 every minute. Bobbi Brown cosmetics are available in 74 countries and sold in more than 2173 stores” (Hall). However, Bobbi Brown is no longer a part of Bobbi Brown cosmetics. On the company’s 25th anniversary, she announced that she would no longer be a part of the company; she feels that it is time for her to move on. She would always be found backstage during fashion week showcasing the newest and best looks, on the sets of the Today Show and the Oprah Winfrey Show giving how-to advice to help women feel and look more beautiful. So, when I had this opportunity with these products, I started to think what is wrong with the space right now. And what's wrong for me is that I'm overwhelmed, I have too many things in my cabinet... So I really wanted to sit down and simplify it, but mostly I wanted to create products that help the issues that we have; the products are lifestyle-inspired’ (Abouarrage). She then utilized the skills she had previously acquired from making makeup, and with the help of an ayurvedic doctor, she went to the lab and created another wonderful line of products.
