The world is filled with a myriad of animals that you never knew were real. Or, even thought couldn’t be real. Some of the creatures in our list are rather daunting and even creepy, and that’s just why would love them! Although, after seeing these creepy-crawly specimens, you may question if it may have been better to just stay oblivious.
Number Ten: The Giant Chinese Salamander. From the looks of this guy, it makes me glad that I’ve never encountered him on an unlucky day. This oversized species of salamander is native to mountain streams and lakes. It has the potential to grow to an astonishing length of 180 centimeters- nine times the size of the normal, 20 centimeter salamanders we are used to! Weighing in at an average of 66 pounds of slimy, dark, wrinkly skin, this sure is an intimidating beast. However, the Giant Chinese Salamander is close to extinction due to polluted waters and hunters.
Number Nine: The Blue Sea Dragon. This peculiar little creature is a small sea slug, nicknamed “sea dragon” because of the majestic shades of blue that decorate its body.

Although close to extinction, the Saiga Antelope is quite the unique beast. In only a few regions of the world, such as Mongolia, Russia, and Kazakhstan, the rare antelope can still be observed. The most diverse aspect of this species of antelope is its large, almost snout-like nose. During cold, winter months, this big nose heats the air before it gets to the antelope’s lungs. Also during winter, the Saiga Antelope’s coat changes from brown, to snow white.Number Seven: The Dumbo Octopus. For once, an animal’s name sounds exactly what you might expect. This unique species of octopus gained its name from- you guessed it- Disney’s Dumbo. The large, spanning fins of the Dumbo octopus caused the name, as they are said to resemble the little elephant’s iconic ears. This species is known to change from red, to green, to orange, and lives in most oceans at the darkest
What is scaly, creepy, 50 feet long, and swims in the world's most notorious lake? If you said The Loch Ness Monster, then you’re correct! The Loch Ness Monster, mostly known as the creature Nessie, is a huge, “mythical” creature that has been scaring the people of Ireland for centuries, but this monster is actually real.
It all started in 1955 when a man who lived in the area of Loveland Ohio saw three humanoid frog-like creatures who seemed to be waving around wands that shot out bright, fiery, scolding sparks. It had webbed hands and feet, like a frog, toad, or duck. And was a couple fo feet tall, most say 3-4 feet.It had bumpy skin, and was a green chromaticity. It walked like a human with good posture, bipedally. It was said to smell like drupes from almonds, and the plant alfalfa. But yet again, in 1955 there was another report of something strangely linked to the loveland frog. Mrs.Darwin Johnson, had said that she was attacked violently under water one night, in the Ohio River near Evansville, Indiana. She
Bigfoot also known popularly as the Sasquatch, Momo, Skunk Ape, the list goes on and on, is without a doubt, the most famous of all hairy man-like creatures. The following will make you a believer in this overseen creature, it made me one. Bigfoot is seen in every possible location throughout the North American Continent, mountains, swamps, forests, crossing desolate and some not so desolate roadways and on open farmland. While its demeanor varies from docile to curios to almost threatening, its general appearance varies. Bigfoot is a massive animal, its average height is seven and a half feet tall, its weight is said be between 400-500 pounds. It is covered almost completely in fur, and its fur ranges in color from the moist widespread dark red-brown to brown, black, red, gray and even white. It leaves its footprints behind as a calling card, almost taunting the researchers that reverently research this undiscovered animal. While its prints resemble mans, they are characteristically large in comparison, and instead of the weight distribution being concentrated under the heel and ball as in the arched human foot, the weight distribution is more evenly distributed over the flat, yielding Bigfoot foot. Most often the prints have five toes, occasionally however the tracks are apparently three toed. The three toed tracks can be theorized several ways; that there is a unique variety of Bigfoot in existence, while resembling the five toed Bigfoot closely, it retains a few distinguishing characteristics; another theory is that some soil conditions can cause the toes of Bigfoot to 'clump' together. The proportion of three toed tracks in comparison to the five toed tracks seems to indicate that three toes is the exception to the norm, and that it is the result of some environmental peculiarity. The main physical characteristics attributed to Bigfoot, other than size and foot shape, are that it is bipedal and upright, has wide shoulders and a heavy brow ridge. Its eyes are sometimes said to appear to be red in color, but are mainly reported as yellow. Although no discernible language has ever been placed with Bigfoot creatures, they are very vocal. Witnesses have reported high pitched wails and low, growling roars, either before and/or after visually spotting a Sasquatch. On some occasions the sounds have been heard from two or more locations at the same time, apparently in communication with one another.
Ness monster, Bigfoot and Dracula. One of the most intriguing creatures known to cryptozoologists is the Loch Ness Monster, often called Nessie. She is known to live in Loch Ness Lake in the Scottish Highlands, which is 23 miles long and almost 750 feet deep in certain parts, making it difficult to locate the monster. There are multiple theories on what Nessie could be scientifically, but the most common is the Plesiosaur.
People imagine most monsters to live under their bed, in their closet, or hiding in the dark, however, in reality, monsters lurk strolling through everyday life. Walking through streets and driving past buildings, one could pass a monster every five minutes. The average image of a monster would be to have terrifying teeth, abnormal faces, and outrageous bodies. Monsters appear as everyday people, but act maliciously.
The Yeti crab is found at deep depths below the ocean where there is no light and it
A great wave of fear filters through the body at the thought of creatures that slither and crawl. Of all the bugs, snakes, and spiders in this vast universe the appearance, feel, and behavior of the tree roach can induce a panic as intense as a heart attack.
As far as animals go amphibians have it pretty well in the popularity category. Kermit the Frog keeps smiles on the faces of people around the world, Godzilla strikes fear into the hearts of those who dare to watch his films, and Dig’Em the frog gives children all over the world Smacks cereal to get them ready for the day. However, there is one amphibian that does not get the fame it deserves. The axolotl is an amphibious salamander that deserves more recognition than it gets. The axolotl is incredibly rare in the wild, where it can be found only in the Lake Xochimilco located just south of Mexico City; while the axolotl is rare and endangered in the wild there are countless axolotls in the care of scientists and researchers. Axolotls come
BODY # 1:Many people have seen creatures that look and have characteristics like the lochness monster. An example of a creature that a human has discovered very much like the lochness monster. This peculiar creature is called a plesiosaurs a very old arctic creature. Archaeologists found vertebrate of this incredible new life the plesiosaurs. This “sea monster” is great piece of evidence that the Lochness monster is real. “If the lochness monster does exist this would be the best representation of a creature just like the lochness monster”(Kellner).
Atlanta is the capital and the most popular city in Georgia. Atlanta was established at the intersection of two railroad lines. The city came back from ruin following the Civil War. Three of the most popular attractions among visitors to Atlanta is the Georgia Aquarium, The World of Coca-Cola, and the Atlanta Zoo. The Georgia Aquarium is the largest aquarium in the U.S. The World of Coca-Cola shows the history of the company, not only in the U.S., but also the world. The Atlanta Zoo is another famous and popular destination.
The blue-ringed octopus is one of the most venomous creatures in the ocean. You might be shocked to hear that the venom produced in their spit gland, is powerful enough to kill twenty six humans! This venom is one thousand times more powerful than cyanide! The blue-ringed octopus works by paralyzing the muscles of their prey, or whoever they feel threatened by. Most victims die of lack of oxygen, or upper respiratory attack. A victim can be saved if hooked up to life support right away.
In this research paper, I chose the Red Panda to be the organism that I did my research on. The red panda is also known as “Firefox”, “Lesser Panda”, the “Red Cat-Bear” and get its name from the Giant Panda. Red panda is known to be the “lesser panda” because of the size compared to the giant panda. Western scientists first named this organism the “first panda” when it was first seen 50 years earlier. Only a few people have ever heard about the red panda, let alone have seen one. Red pandas are becoming extinct because of the forests becoming smaller and smaller. Since there is rapid deforestation there is less areas for the animals to eats which is leading this animal to be listed being an endangered species.
Rockfishes have a life cycle that is similar to many other marine fishes because they are biphasic. Due to rockfishes having two different life stages they are slow growing, and late to mature, which leads to a relatively high lifetime expectancy. (Haldorson and Love, 1991). The age of rockfishes varies between species and by latitude (Haldorson and Love, 1991). Rockfishes age at maturity is commonly about 50% of the adult length. Sexually mature rockfishes have a high fecundity rate, which varies between species. (Love et al., 2002). Rockfishes have internal fertilization, making them viviparous marine fish. The developing larvae remain internally for several weeks after hatching (Kendal and Lenarz, 1986). Once released, larvae float to the
Magical dragons do not really exist, despite what the ancient Chinese people believed. They are fictitious creatures that appeared in ancient Chinese myths and legends. Since the ancient Chinese thought they were real, they were well respected and symbolized the emperors. Over time people started to realize that these dragons weren’t real, but because of what they believed for a very long time, China’s nickname became, “The Dragon.”
The blue whale (Balaenoptera musculus) is a marine mammal belonging to the baleen whales (Mysticeti).[3] At up to 29.9 metres (98 ft)[4] in length and with a maximum recorded weight of 173 tonnes (190 short tons)[4] and probably reaching over 181 tonnes (200 short tons), it is the largest animal known to have ever existed.[5][6]
