The video, Mission: Create Social Infrastructure for Resilient Cities, uploaded on November 3, 2014 by Bjarke Ingels is an incredibly informative and convincing film about how architecture is able to empower people to influence their physical environment in order to be able to live the life (Ingels, 2014) they want to live. The film argues that architecture is a world changing element where you are able to take something that is deemed to be a wild idea (Ingels, 2014) and turn into an actual physical projection, challenging what other people may have convinced you into believing that it was impossible to do. It is apparent that he strongly believes in outsourcing creativity to the community, working together as designers and common people to reach an ambition that has a massive impact on the physical as well as the social environment. Not only does architecture enable us to manipulate our surroundings to what would benefit us whilst being conscious of our environment, it provides opportunities in which brings our communities together through various representations of art and culture as well as subtly encouraging ourselves to interact with one another. Architecture allows us to harmonize art into our every day affairs and civil exchanges. Like Ingels (2014), architecture plays a large role in improving our world in a way that enhances our environment and creates a relationship between our social lives and surroundings. Architecture has the power to turn the world into what we dream of. In being part of this world, it is crucial for us to have an effective means of communicating with each other so that we are able to support each other.
