Biography of Dr. Maria Montessori

Dr. Maria Montessori came up with the Montessori Method over 100 years ago. Maria was an Italian educator and physician. She ended up organising the Montessori Method of education for children and, was also the first women to receive a medical degree in 1894. The Montessori Method is in a child-centered educational approach and it’s based on scientific observations from birth to adulthood. Maria based her approach to children on their natural learning tendencies.
Maria Montessori was born in Chiaravalle Italy in 1870. In 1896 she got her degree in medicine and became the first female doctor in Italy. She was a very good doctor and became better known in her field by attending medical conferences around the world. I’m sure it was surprising for other doctors to see her there and I’m sure she carried herself well. She was representing Italy and women in medicine for all the world. Women like her paved the way for female doctors today. Before Ms. Montessori came along, many men and women probably thought a woman couldn't be a doctor.
While working in her own medical practice she began to be interested in how children develop and learn. She loved children and wanted to help them in any way she could. She saw many children in her job and felt a connection with them. She wanted to help them learn. She believed that children learned the most and developed themselves from what they find in their own environments. This made her interested in seeing how a child’s brain works and learns. She studied psychology and philosophy in 1901. She became a professor of anthropology in Rome in 1904.

.... This makes the child more comfortable to learn. Order and independence have helped a lot of children learn and grow.
In conclusion the Montessori Method of learning has been very successful. Maria Montessori was a very good teacher and her method has been really beneficial. Educators remember her as a very important lover of children who did her work for them. Her Method challenges children to learn and develop. When I have a child I would put him or her in a Montessori school. I know he or she would learn well there. Maria Montessori was a woman that changed the learning world. She is remembered every time a child graduates from a Montessori school.
