Gabriel Iglesias also known as Fluffy was born on July 15, 1976. He was born and raised in San Diego, California. His last name is really spelled Iglecias with a C because his father had missed his birth and his mother wanted to teach him a lesson, so changed the S to C, but he still uses his last name with an S. He began performing stand-up comedy at the age of twenty-one in 1997. He was always known as the “Big Guy.” Gabriel Iglesias actually gave himself the nick name and goes by “Fluffy.”
Before becoming a comedian, he worked for a cell phone company and also appeared on a show called, “All that.” His trademark is wearing Hawaiian shirts and he lives in Whittier with his girlfriend and step son Frankie. The name of the stand-up comedy was Aloha Fluffy, but not only had he done stand-up comedy he stars in movies as well as Magic Mike. During his routine, his attention getter was jokes about his weight and about his Hispanic heritage. He knows by making fun of his weight people will laugh. He is also known for his stories about his life that are based on true events. His energy during the act was a high energy. He is very bubbly person and seems like he is like that 24/7. I could tell he really likes making people laugh. He is very detailed about his jokes and uses different voices to make it hilarious.
The delivery to the people was steady, and it was never a dull moment. It was like a suspense movie, when he would start speaking about his jokes, you would not know what he ...
... middle of paper ...
... I would rather see him on my computer or on T.V. any day.
He did not seem nervous at all. It came out natural for him to perform. He did not use any weird hand gestures or pace back and forth. The only thing I did notice, I guess since he is a big guy, he was sweating. I could see it on his forehead and arms, and he also noticed it but, of course he made a joke out of it.
Out of all the comedians there is, Gabriel is one of the funniest comedians to me. My husband and I can watch the same video over and over again. It never gets old. We always like a good laugh. Whenever we are bored we will watch stand-up comedy, especially if it with Gabriel Iglesias. My husband had begged me to get tickets when he came down to El Paso, but I was too late and they had sold out. I told him next time if he ever comes back again I would be the first person to get some tickets.
At 17, he took his first steps toward becoming a stand up comedian. When he took the stage at a Boston comedy club, he found he was a natural comic. He nurtured his talent while at New York

I personally thought this was a great film, although initially I thought it might be boring. Once I got past the older production quality and immersed myself into the story, I enjoyed it. I can see why this film is a cinematic classic, especially with the memorable dialogue. My favorite lines came from Carr, the floor walker. He seemed to know his job like the back of his hand. “Any man loses his spoon; he spends the night in the box”.
Sinbad grew up as the son of a minister in Benton Harbor, MI and went to a respectable high school where he excelled in basketball. He attained a scholarship to the University of Denver in hopes that it would open up some doors for him but he was cut off when he suffered a career ending knee injury. In 1983, he embarked on his self-subsidized “Poverty Tour” of comedy clubs across the U.S. His career started to take off, when he made several appearances on the talent show “Star Search”. He then landed a few small parts on T.V. show’s eventually catching the eye of Bill Cosby who put him on his new show “A Different World” in which he played a kind dorm director at an all black college. This led him into a few starring and co-starring roles in major motion pictures and made the name Sinbad, a household name across the country.
He is a towering 6'3, has wildly curly hair, stunning blue eyes, and is one of the world's most respected comedic actors. Who is it? It's Will Ferrell! The star of many hit comedies, including Old School, Anchorman, Elf, and Talladega Nights,Will has been making people laugh ever since his 7-year run on Saturday Night Live. Unfortunately, when he first started on the show, people looked to him as being one of the most annoying cast members in the history of the show. His career almost seemed like a joke! However, Will went on to overcome his negative self-image in the world of comedy by surprisingly becoming a hit on SNL, making box-office topping movies, and using “funnies” to tune the youth into political issues.
At the age of eleven Lopez knew that he was going to have his own standup comedy show one day when he was all grown up. He would often practice his comedian skills daily by teasing and joking and having fun with his kids in his class at school. Every day he had to put up an imaginary wall to deflect the emotions of pain and suffering for essentially being left for dead. He loved humor because it helped with the
He was born John William Ferrell on July 16, 1967 in Irvine, California. Despite his parents' divorce in 1975, Ferrell's natural intelligence and strong work ethic made him a top student in school. In high school he wasn't a member of the drama team or anything of the sort. In fact, he was a big guy that his school recognized as being one of their top football and baseball players. In football he played offense, defense, and even ended up kicking for the team.
While analyzing the speech, I notice how he isn’t shaky from nervousness or his voice’s pitch getting higher which makes him confident, is already prepared of what he wants to talk about, and therefore does not cause any distractions towards the audience. His voice tone is at his natural state as I assume as it calm, not quick to rush words out, and engages the audience by not bringing
What parts of the film were surprising or made you sit back and say, “Hmmm, I need to think more about that? Or, “Wow, I never thought about that.” The part would be when he was talking about “shared equality” up until the 1970’s was a normal thing and how everybody’s income doubled in size as well.
Analysis of Dave Chappelle's For What It's Worth Stand-Up Comedy Dave Chappelle’s stand-up comedy can be raunchy, grotesque, and
Adam Sandler has been a box-office draw for a decade now, with hardly a dip in fortunes since he first parlayed his break on TV's Saturday Night Live into a string of hit films. From the get-go Sandler was good on jokes about sports, six-packs and the need to stop goofing off and start playing nice with women. He made his success without any support from critics, many of whom seemed to find the frat-house element of his shtick so ghastly as to inoculate them against its sweet and silly aspects. It is unlikely that Sandler cares much for the views of festival-going connoisseurs, though he served notice on their carps by his seamless crossover into Paul Thomas Anderson's Punch-Drunk Love (2002). "I wanted to work with Sandler so much," Anderson said. "I love him… He's always made me laugh."
The shows play a major role in developing the comedic basis for African American entertainers even today. As referred to in the modern day, “Black Comedy” is extremely favored by the populus. Famous black comedian Dave Chappelle, once played a role as a “racial pixie”. Moreover, in his use of an anaphora, he was able to evoke laughter from the audience because of the relative realism of his choice of situations that he chooses to present. Another way in which he evokes laughter is by using a hyperbole. The exaggeration adds to the humorous mood and adds a uniqueness to his speech that distinguishes it from other commencement speeches, which often have a much more serious tone. Not only is Ferrell able to hold the attention of the audience for the entirety of his commencement address, but he is also able to successfully convey his message. In the long term, this method is beneficial towards the students because it creates a lasting memory that they can look back on and remember as reliable
