Ursula and Matt group together and pays a visit to the guy they know has something to do with Pumpkins disappearance. The dog gets returned that evening and Matt convinces his parents to cancel the lawsuit. He is no longer a suspect thanks to Ursula’s great help. Matt and Ursula gets better friends and hope to become even better friends in the future. Characters: There are two main characters, Ursula and Matt. Ursula is an unpopular all star athlete girl who is very misunderstood and does not have any friends. Matt however is slightly different. He is just a casual boy who ends up in a misery for joking about blowing up the school. They are both teenagers from the USA and go to the same school. Theme: In my opinion the theme is that no matter how unpopular you are or how disliked you are, there is no reason to stop showing who you really are and help other people who are struggling in the same situation as you. Setting: The story takes place in a dirty and grimy city in northeast USA. It takes place over a couple months as the conflict with Matt is slowly being

Chester keeps on making small comments regarding the situation, but every time Chester brings up a point it is resolved with a short brute response. Not willing or wanting to say much, Matt just keeps on walking down the dark street, reminding Chester that if it is going to happen he rather not prolong the sentence. This scene also demonstrated the fact that Matt Dillon hated depending on other people for a course of action to take place. We see him get a little anxious and kind of aggravated, since the power to control the situation is not in his hands.
There are many things going on in the story but it has a great theme which is it doesn't matter what others think about you or how they see you, all that matters is that you are happy and enjoying yourself.
As we read we learn she is very outspoken and strong willed, she always wants things to be her way. Mattie shows us a great example of being very independent at the age of fourteen, but after her journey does she truly change as a person? “I was just fourteen years of age when a coward going by the name of Tom Chaney shot my father down in Fort Smith, Arkansas, and robbed him of his life” (Portis 11). Mattie Ross goes on a journey to find her father’s killer with the help of two companions, Rooster Cogburn and Leboeuf. Leaving Fort Smith, they set out into the Indian Territory to track down Tom Chaney and seek revenge for killing Mattie’s father, she claims, “I would not rest easy until that Louisiana cur was roasting and screaming in hell!”

...he didn’t have resilience the book would have been very short. You can’t exactly have a protagonist thrown into a chaotic existence without them being able to withstand the lifestyle. Naiveté is an interesting considerably neutral trait. He is in youth through the book but this trait demonstrates how much he grows and learns. His desperation fueled his escapes to get out alive and determines how much he longs, craves, needs friends, family, ect. Remove a single one and you no longer have Matt. Of course there are innumerable traits that all contribute to make him up. The main idea is they make him up, as a person. Not as a drooling, morphine high, permanently damaged, primal mess of a clone that inhabitants of Opium are accustomed to, also not as a mere copy of El Patron. He’s a human being, which means he has qualities that define him just like any other person.
The main protagonist of the film, Scotty Smalls, is introduced as a straight-A, friendless young boy who has just moved into a new neighborhood in new state. While
There is no question that the love Matt had for Frank was the motivation to kill Richard Strout. The story ends with two physical killings and a moral death as well. Vengeance comes at a very high price, death.
In the novel, Me Talk Pretty One Day, Sedaris has used various literary terms which followed the use of a clear tone. This is clearly depicted with the author’s choice of words, as well as, figurative language. This demonstrates the author’s talent for casually laying out the absurdities of his daily experiences. In the novel, Sedaris has used a depressed tone. He explains how he is depressed by the French instructor. He explains that he is not alone to be belittled, but others also experience a similar attitude from the teacher, during the time they spent in class (Sedaris 13). He explains that the instructor wanted to put everyone down. For instance, he understood only half of what the teacher said, and that the first day that she was in class was very depressing (11). Sedaris also narrates that when the teacher asked that ‘has every one apzkiubjxow, it was very startling because he had not been asked the question for a while and realized that she did not understand the alphabet (11). The author states that the teacher always asked that ‘were you always this palicmkresis (15). It is clear that Sedaris employs nonsense letter arrangements, in order to replace the words that he could not understand (Sedaris 15). Through this, he relates his feelings with what the teacher said and this created pity for him and a mutual understanding (Sedaris 15). This demonstrates a depressed tone.
In her essay, “Momma, the Dentist, and me” Maya Angelou describe her insight in remembering an incident of racism. The incident refer to a time when a white dentist named Lincoln did not treat her tooth ace just for being colored “Niggah.” In America no one should be allowed to be a form of prisoner, because of their native skin color. The novel, Alone Together: Why We Expect More From Technology and Less From Each Other (2011) written by Sherry Turkle, presents many controversial views, and demonstrating numerous examples of how technology is replacing complex pieces and relationships in our life. The book is slightly divided into two parts with the first focused on social robots and their relationships with people. The second half is much different, focusing on the online world and it’s presence in society. Overall, Turkle makes many personally agreeable and disagreeable points in the book that bring it together as a whole.
