Personality Assignment Five I scored on high on extraversion on the Big Five Personality Test assessment. I remain extremely comfortable with other individuals, thus I agree with this. I love the diversity, the multicultural atmosphere, and the food. I enjoy exploring Japantown and Chinatown, so there is such much diversity and multiculturalism. I always seek to try other cultures language, and food. As far as traits changing through the years, personality traits remain constant throughout the years for myself. If an individual is neurotic, they will remain neurotic, thus they find methods to cope with the problem, nonetheless the problem will still be there, neuroticism. In other words, you cannot cure neuroticism, yet you can treat it. I remain an extrovert, yet the assessment does not measure, that I have tendencies to be introverted, as I enjoy my solitude, as I refer to it as, time to reflect. On the trait of agreeableness, I am agreeable to a point, no one can persuade me to do something I do not enjoy. I remain quite capable of saying “no”. The Big Five represent my traits accurately, and on extraversion, I have always experienced an exploratory side, and I love research diverse concepts. I love to attempt new ideas and concepts. Additionally, I consider myself extremely liberal and open-minded, and there is nothing my children can say to that would astonish me.
“The Five Factor Model provides a compelling framework for building personality measures that seek to represent the domain of individual terms broadly and systematically” (Briggs, 1989 as cited in McAdams. DP, 1992, p. 332). The FFM consists of five factors (The ‘Big Five’). They are Openness, Conscientiousness, Extraversion, Agreeableness, and Neuroticism. When measured individuals can range from extremes on each of these traits.
The Myers and Briggs Analysis is a series of questions that when answered are examined and grouped together in order to determine the personalities of those taking this test. This particular test can result in sixteen different outcomes or types of personalities, which is determined by four different categories that judge if you are introverted or extroverted, use your senses or your intuition, your choice to think or use your feelings, and finally if you are judgmental or perceptive. These series of questions are designed to judge our personalities and help us to determine which career pathways we will be most suited for based on our personality traits and abilities to work well with others, which is important for our future decisions.

My score on extraversion was 22, low again compared to the norm. For this trait, I agreed with my results at first, but after some thinking I realized although I am introverted, I do behave extravertly sometimes. In general, I prefer working alone, staying indoors, and I don’t like being around a lot of people. For example, when given a group project, I’d prefer working on my own. Yet most of the time, I end up being the group leader because I get along well with people and am usually optimistic. Basically, I prefer settings with less people, but I can mingle well with strangers at parties or functions. Most of my friends and myself included, would say I am extraverted because I make friends easily and am usually very happy and cheerful. But that is only partially true because I do behave differently depending on the situation and my role as a friend, student, employee, etc. Therefore, I don’t agree with my results overall. According to the findings of the Five Factor Model of personality, I have a relatively balanced score on a number of the key traits. For example, on the continuum of extroversion versus introversion, I scored moderately high in both categories, indicating that I am comfortable being around other people and also being alone. I also scored moderate on the quality of contentiousness, indicating I am always struggling between being organized and disorganized, which is also true. I scored extremely high on agreeableness, indicating that I am basically a trusting and friendly person. In general, I believe this speaks well of my mental health. But I scored high for the trait of neuroticism, which indicates that I can be emotional and insecure (i.e., I worry a great deal). I also ranked high on the trait of openness, on seeking out new experiences and being open-minded. This indicates that I am open to new ideas and enjoy creative and novel things.
After completing this personality test and reviewing the results, I found that the overall scoring accurately described me in most areas.
