Disney tries to show racism and confront the problems in the movie Zootopia but according to Nico Lang it is not such a good idea. Nico Lang said, “But Zootopia’s message is at best muddled, and at worst it contradicts many of the lessons the film is attempting to impart. In Zootopia, no one really benefits from racism, and everyone is thus harmed by it equally — which is actually a pretty dangerous idea.” (1) He is saying that even if Disney is trying to show racism and teach kids a lesson, everyone is going to get hurt …show more content…

He points out different race relations and the different diversity that the animals have in the Zootopia. He brings in the election and how Hilary Clinton was bringing an idea about “super predator” comparing what she said to the movie but how it might not have been intended. Charles says “It explains that no one character is without fault in the roles that they play in maintaining racist power structures and that dealing with racism has to be a deeply collaborative effort.” He explains that its no one’s fault of the roles that are played because it wasn’t intentional for racism to show and for people do think of …show more content…

She says that it wasn’t intentionally though it was probably by accident. She tells us that the there is a female lead character and that that there was “gender-related bias” (Jusino). It was one of the things that they are going to dig into. She explains that making a bunny a lead role in the movie feels like it is not on accident. They wanted to to get some negativity out of it and explaining how bunnies are “too small, too weak, too emotional to be in law enforcement” (Jusino). There are a lot of stereotypes about women and they wanted to put it in a negative way. Other then that she says that the movie has a way of showing us different gender bias and race
