The goal of every teacher no matter their background should always be to teach all students to the best of their ability. Just as Ackerman (2012) states, teachers must believe that ALL students deserve a chance at success regardless of their backgrounds, learning styles, and/or disabilities. Teachers are to teach and exemplify an abundance of knowledge, love, core values, and life skills to their students in such a way that they will not only be able to apply their knowledge and skills in the classroom, but also in their daily endeavors. Even though all teacher’s ultimate goal is usually the same, the teacher’s approach, whether biblical or secular, will have many differences.
The most obvious difference between a biblical approach and a secular approach is the integration of Christ and the word of God into the curriculum and daily teaching. In a Christian school or Christ centered classroom, students are taught the curriculum with a biblical worldview. In a secular classroom, it is illegal to focus on one religion due to the diversity in the classroom and the entire school. Which leads to another difference between a biblical approach and a secular approach, a secular approach usually allows a wide array of different topics to be included in the teaching. In a Christ centered classroom the teacher would exemplify and incorporate the fruits of the spirit in their daily interaction with their students. The bible refers to the fruit of the spirit as the following: love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23). On the other hand, it is possible for a secular approach to also incorporate the fruits of the spirit in their class, but it would not be as easy to incorporate on a regular
