Christians are questioning their faith and the authority of the Bible because of all the unreliable information they have easy access to. However, the final and only authority is Gods’ written word. If we refuse to believe any part of the Bible or what Christ taught, we are simply denying Him, by our own authority, to be the Messiah. When someone rejects the Bible, they are basically rejecting the words of God Himself. For all matters of Christian practice and faith, the final and only authority is Gods’ written word (Packer). Unfortunately, this has become very questionable to many non-believers and few believers too. There are religions, and religious documents denying the accuracy and inspiration of the Bible. Even though the Bible teaches against all sin, this is a controversial topic because of how socially acceptable they have become in todays culture (Cheetham). People are going to continue to embrace new views of inspiration and butcher the true principles of the Bible that were set for us. There are always going to be non believers trying to find ways to prove the reliability of the Bible to be non-existent. But, the Bible is still the only authority 2,000 years after it was written, so I believe it will still be the only authority for people who are willing to pour themselves into it. The Bible does speak equally in authority to people of all ages because the human condition has not changed since the Bible was inspired 2,000 years ago. God inspired the inspiration of scripture, which he caused writers to understand through abilities he gave them to understand the message he was passing along (Packer). All scripture is indeed infallible and true because the Bible is God-breathed (Young).
