ANIMAL AND FEATURES:
Nowadays a lot of animals are being hunted. The organism that I have chosen is the national animal of India - The Bengal tiger (Panthera tigris). It has a lot of physical adaptations like striped fur to camouflage, soft pads which allows them to walk silently to their prey, this allows them to survive in its habitat. They are nocturnal animals.
WHY ARE THEY ENDANGERED?
Bengal tigers are beautiful animals and it's really disheartening to watch them die! Hunters are hunting them for their skin and fur to make carpets, belts and keep their head as a decoration piece (to show how much power one has). People are chopping down a lot of trees in forests to make paper and construct villas or buildings(deforestation). These forests

If we don’t save them, then by around 2020 they may go extinct!
WHAT WILL HAPPEN IF THEY GO EXTINCT?
If tigers go extinct it will affect the entire eco-system. Tigers stand at the topmost part of the food chain. They help in maintaining the rich diversity of nature. For example, the tiger eats deer to survive, if they go extinct, the population of deer’s will increase. The increase in deer population will lead to overgrazing. If deer’s start having a lot of grass and leaves it will eventually lead to soil erosion. This is how everything is linked in a food chain.
RESERVES OR CONSERVATIONS PROTECTING BENGAL TIGER:
Reserves and conservations like INDIAN BOARD FOR WILDLIFE(IBWL), THE SUNDARBARN NATIONAL PARKS AND PROJECT TIGER, have saved a massive population of the Bengal tigers. The Sundarbans national park is in West Bengal, India. It is the largest reserves. It’s mostly funded by the West Bengal

The Project Tiger- was launched in India in 1972 as conservation program me to save the Indian Tiger Population. Corbett was the first national park of India to be covered under Project Tiger. Now it has around 27 reserves with a population of 1498 tigers.
It is looked after by The Principal Chief Conservator of Forests(PCCF), Wildlife &Bio-Diversity& ex-officio Chief Wildlife Warden.
WWF has done a lot of work to protect Bengal tigers. WWF worked with local partners to rise antipoaching efforts and reduce threats to animal habitats in India, Bhutan. WWF even supports innovative solutions like biogas to save the tigers and improve the community health and climate change. It has even helped in stopping illegal wildlife trade. limitation on the protection of the organism: -
One major limitation, that can be observed in the protection of the Bengal Tiger, is the interaction of the locals or tribal people with these tigers due to the proximity of both of their living space. This can be problematic as the tribal might kill these endangered species if they enter their territory for the sake of protecting human life and defending themselves.
Solution for the above-mentioned limitation –
1. Make sure to feed the tigers properly and increase the prey population. According to the WWF this will ensure a decrease in the human-tiger
The area has been turned into a wildlife preserve to help maintain those ecosystems. The
In my Savanna biome, the tigers will survive by eating deer, wild pigs, water buffalo, antelope, monkey, Zebra, and Emu. Because tigers are solitary animals they are able to hunt and kill prey for its survival alone. Tigers do not run in a pack to support themselves. The tigers in my Savanna will have one kill every nine days during the dry season. Which means their prey will be large enough to provide up to 40 of meat in one sitting. This allows my Tigers the option to not need to migrate if at all
Lions are amazing and beautiful creatures, however they are getting placed in canned hunts and circuses. These are two reasons that are causing us to lose more of these amazing creatures. When lions get to old to be in petting zoo's or even normal zoo's they end up in circuses and things called "canned hunts" where they get locked in a small space and get hunted for about one million dollars. Animals can just be put in a sanctuary instead of being hunted.
The adult tigers suffer from abuse causing them to pace back and forth and to have self mutilation because their natural needs are not met. The temple also keeps their tigers captive. They spend most of their lives confined to barren concrete cells and chained to a small cage for several hours a day given no shade. When the tigers are allowed out, it is only because of the money. When the tigers refuse to cooperate the monks will beat the
Tigers are the largest members of the cat family. They live in Asia and belong to the same genus as the lion, leopard, and jaguar. Two major subspecies of the tiger are the Siberian tiger and the Bengal tiger. The tiger is thought to have originated in northern Asia during the Pleistocene Epoch.
What its eating habits are: Like all members of the cat family, tigers are carnivores. The Siberian tiger hunts a wide range of prey, including small mammals, deer, water buffalo, wild pigs, and birds. Tigers ambush their prey, often camouflaging themselves and observing their intended victims for long periods of time. Siberian tigers are strong animals, able to tackle large animals almost twice their size, and render the victim helpless by inflicting a series of deadly bites into the animal's spine or throat. This semi-nocturnal animals covers 6-12 miles each night in search of food.
This takes a larger toll on the lion population since many next generation cubs are slaughtered during the power struggles of the pride and it makes it even more difficult for the lion population to recover. This decrease in wildlife population hasn’t been recent, it has been going on for centuries, ever since the rise of big game hunting. For example, National Geographic, one of the largest nonprofit educational and scientific institutions in the world says, “approximately 200,000 lions inhabited the African continents 100 years ago, Only around 30,000 remain today.” This detail is significant because such a rapid decline in the lion population cannot be blamed on any natural phenomena like famine, drought, or ice age. The only real threat to the lion population in the past 100 years has been big game hunters.
The white tiger is one of the biggest in the cat family. The white tiger is long it can grow up to 3.3 meters long and weigh as much as 300 kilograms hard to carry. Subspecies of the white tiger like Sumatran Tiger, Amur(or Siberian) Tiger, Indian (or Bengal) tiger, south china tiger, malayan tiger,indo-chinese tiger, bali tiger, javan tiger, caspian tiger thats extinct theres nine subspecies of the white tiger.A lot of subspecies are endangered or extinct because people hunt them for their fur to make jackets or sweaters and destroying their habitat. Some tiger cubs don’t live to be an adult because around half of the cubs die around 2-3 years of age.The cubs leave their mother at around 2 years old they live a long time because their mom taught them what they would know from eating to hiding from people.A group of tigers is called ambush or streak because the group may be hunting. You probably thought these tigers can’t swim because they are in the cat family but if you do you are wrong because ...
Any species which fall into the categories vulnerable, endangered, or critically endangered are considered to be at risk of extinction. Robert Redford said “I think the environment should be put in the category of our national security defense of our resource’s because it’s just as important as defense abroad otherwise what is there to defend?” People should all take the environment more seriously and protect the future for those to come. It’s our responsibility to ensure that the children to come may enjoy all of earth’s beauty, and not through old issues of National Geographic’s.
(Milian 1). Animals in the entertainment industry have been led away from their old ways and instincts making it so that if the animals were ever to return to the wild, they would have a significantly lower chance of survival, especially with the recent decrease in quality of habitat. Lastly, Susan Bass, a Big Cat Rescue spokeswoman stated that caring for a single tiger “costs the sanctuary $10,000 a year” (Brulliard 8). The tigers that the sanctuary
This also includes some animals, like the rhinoceros, that are believed to have "healing properties" for humans. About six years ago in 2011, the International Union of the Conservation of Nature had declared the Western Black Rhinoceros extinct and the White Rhinoceros on the endangered list. The reason being why these magnificent species became critically endangered and then poached was because of people believing their horns had healing properties (Vegan Peace, par 2). Another effect this problem is affecting is the Sumatran Tiger who is now a critically endangered species in the Indonesian island of Sumatra. It does not help when zoo's "promise" to rehabilitate these creatures because they have not been living up to their word causing more tigers to die because of starvation. This beautiful big cat was killed and sold for its skin, teeth, bones, and claws that apparently can sell for $5, 000 and
Fortunately, the number of visitors is increasing day by day, even with the problem of shrinking wildlife in the SRF (Ahsan, 2007). Hence, an economic valuation of SRF is not only important, but necessary, because it is evident that only through revenue generation and spread of such information about the benefits it provides to our economy can we better manage this irreplaceable reserved area. This study will also help the respective authorities to develop national policies in correspondence to ecotourism in the country and specifically for the better conservation of SRF so that it can be prolonged and even expanded with time for us and our future generations. In addition, the surplus from the revenues can be used to appoint more skilled and honest officials who will take it to their hearts to truly protect the land from human exploitation and also, improve the infrastructure (without harming the wildlife there) to better accommodate and attract more tourists and cause a positive chain reaction in tourism
This provides a legal safety net to stop and slow down the loss of plant and animal species. They hold federal agencies and others accountable for complying with laws protecting rare/endangered animals using persuasion and cooperation. They recommend increased funding for private landowners and conservation programs that could benefit animals. They protect and restore habitats that were lost. NWF also reduces threats to wildlife that can lead to endangerment including loss of habitat and pollution. India is now halting tiger tourism to prevent extinction of the animals. About 1,411 of these animals live in the wild, and they are in danger of being “loved to death.” Experts fear these big cats will become extinct in only five years. Poaching is the main reason for many deaths, but tourism has also impacted the tigers. The tourist vehicles drive away the tigers prey and hotels have been built over passageways the tigers used to travel from one place to another. Alligators, Bald Eagles, Wolves, Grizzly Bears, and Whooping Cranes were all saved by the U.S Endangered Species Act (ESA). The WWF is addressing the major threats to Australia’s
Loss of biodiversity is an environmental issue that is causing a lot of global concern. Some of the main causes for loss in biodiversity are alteration of habitats, increasing levels of pollution and human population growth. There are measures that are being taken worldwide to prevent loss of biodiversity. Many wildlife sanctuaries have been built worldwide to preserve the lives of various endangered species. However, it is important to remember that every individual has a role in the protection of wildlife and biodiversity. Every human being should play his part of the role by following simple rules such as stopping others from the hunting of endangered species, preventing deforestation, encouraging reforestation and creating awareness among fellow human beings.
