In string orchestras there are four instruments used: the violin, viola, cello, and bass. Most high schools contain this type of orchestra; however there are many other instruments that can be added to create a symphonic orchestra. From the string instruments the best is actually the most undervalued instrument. The “Middle Child” of the family of strings. The one that everyone should want to play is obviously the viola. The violin, cello, and bass are all wrong. Each one has their own handicap that prevents them from being the best. The viola produces a rich, mellow, resonating sound. In addition violas use the alto clef, which is rarely used by any other instrument therefore it has the nickname of being viola clef. Why would you ever want to be?! Is mainstream violinist what you want to be? Do you can to blend in with everyone else and not stand out? Violins are the smallest instruments in the orchestra. Who wants that tiny thing? It’ll get lost easily because of that size! They are the most played instrument and tend to have a large group of players so your sound will probably be masked by the others. Many times violists start on a violin because it’s a smaller size, but then change over to the viola as they grow older (that’s because we’re amazing). The violins are also the self-centered instruments because they always want to have the melodies and they think they’re the best when in reality they aren’t. OH! When they are played wrong, it is one. Of. The. Worst. Sounds. Ever. They sound like dying cats on that E string if they are out of tune! I can’t imagine anyone would intend to play

People have dreams of what they want to do or accomplish in life, but usually musical theatre is just pushed into the non-realistic void. It isn’t a dream for me. In the past four years, musical theatre has been clarified as my reality. Musical theatre has been the only thing I have seen myself wanting to do. My first love was The Phantom of the Opera, seeing how I watched it almost every day and it was one of the first shows I saw. Of course, I started doing all of those cute shows in middle school and making a huge deal about it to my family and friends, but I have never felt so passionate about something. Do you ever have one of those days when you remember your parents taking away all of your baseball cards or all of your comic books because you got a bad grade in one of your classes? You feel a little depressed and your priced possession has been stolen. This event is the same as August Wilson’s, The Piano Lesson. The story is about a sibling rivalry, Boy Willie Charles against Berniece Charles, regarding an antique, family inherited piano. Boy Willie wants to sell the piano in order to buy the same Mississippi land that his family had worked as slaves. However, Berniece, who has the piano, declines Boy Willie’s request to sell the piano because it is a reminder of the history that is their family heritage. She believes that the piano is more consequential than “hard cash” Boy Willie wants. Based on this idea, one might consider that Berniece is more ethical than Boy Willie.
When someone asks me what marching band means to me, it’s very difficult to come up with a simple answer that everyone can understand. Marching band means belonging to something bigger and more worthwhile than just a “team”; It means having a stake in something that is a treasured part of both our school and our community. Even if it means going to bed feeling every muscle in my body ache and knowing I may wake up feeling worse, I always look forward to doing it all again the next day (and the next year). Marching band is a challenge that pushes the limits of my physical and emotional endurance in such a way that I can’t wait to come back for more because I know I will be a better person for it.

He was born in Carbondale, Illinois, in 1963, and started playing the violin at age 3. David Kim began studies with the famed pedagogue Dorothy DeLay at the age of 8. Being instrumental reflective has more weaknesses than strength. By interviewing three people with different communication styles, I realize the tendency and pattern of my own style. I identify the reflective side as the “real me” because I use it most of the time. It serves as a good listener along normal conversation with friends and family members because conflict seldom happens through this approach. The only weakness for the reflective side is lack of confidence when I communicate at workplace. The instrumental side appears only when there are conflicts and problems that need to be resolved. The above example from Enesha and Kathy clearly explains how I change to instrumental in a sudden.
For almost 8 years of my life, playing the cello has influenced my life in so many extraordinary ways. Choosing the cello over any instrument, was probably one of the best decisions I will have ever made, in the 5th grade. The violin was way too high, the viola was way too small, while the upright bass was way too big. I knew at that very moment that the cello was the instrument that I wanted to play. The warmth of the instruments tone, and the powerful sound that came out of the f-holes drew me in so quickly.
