I learned a lot of things, so I am going to just sum it up for you. I learned by becoming to be a dancer, it is a lot of pain, but yet so many can get through, as they said. So, I went back to sit with my family, and I asked them,” Can I audition because I saw this audition paper,” I told them. They said,” We will talk about it,” So, we left the studio. We made it back to our hotel and I told my family,” Can I go for a walk?” So, I did and I grabbed my headphones and I danced around the streets as I was thinking of that audition. I practice for hours, as I also watched YouTube dance videos. I practiced for so long that my mom had to call me to come back in. As it was time for my audition, my mom and dad let me audition at the downtown, New York. As I looked around people were stretching and they were very nervous. As they got down to calling me in for my audition and only 1 person made it so far. I was wearing a white leotard with pink tights and with my hair up in a ballerina bun, but the thing is I didn’t have the shoes. As, I went into the dance studio and as they called me to go in, I took a deep breath and started dancing, as I closed my eyes. I imagined what it would be to get into the audition, it would be my dream. I danced barefoot in the bright, cleansing in the light and I was dancing in front of 3
At the age of two I put ballet shoes on for the first time. At eleven I began touring with performance groups. By age twelve, I knew how to dance through broken toes and fractures.
For the dancer, music and choreography are paramount. The music guides the dancer, and the moves express the music. However, the dance has to start from somewhere.

The Pressures of Dancers The typical idea of a dancer is that they are tall, slender, full of energy, and lucky because they dance with all of the “stars”. Much of this is true, however, what many people do not think of are the many hardships that a dancer goes through in order to achieve their high status in the dance world. It takes a lot of hard work and determination along with good direction to become a dancer. However, nothing good comes without a price.
Although there is never really a way to reach perfection, dancers are always learning from each other and strive to improve, just as other sports players do. It is also stated on Dance is a sport and an art, and dancers are both athletes and artists. Much is expected of those who dance, for they must have precision, strength, dedication and, most importantly, immense love for what they do. In fact, they even do it in tutus with buns on their heads, ribbons on their feet and smiles on their faces.
Not only has ballet taught me how to move gracefully, it has taught me commitment and persistence. Every class, every performance, every combination is the opportunity to grow. Through this art I have developed a tough skin that helps me fight adversity; however, most importantly I have learned passion and
Do you remember the first time you danced? Now think about that for a minute, really think. I’m not talking about the first time you slow danced awkwardly with someone at a school dance, I’m talking about really dancing. Maybe you danced when you were accepted to college, or when you got an A on a test in a class you struggle in. Dancing isn’t something you force, it’s something you let overcome you and allow to happen. When you are really enjoying dancing you are allowing the music to flow through you. There is so many different styles and techniques when it comes to professionally dancing. You have your roots of all styles being jazz and ballet which stem to become hip hop and tap, or a more

Dance requires a large amount of time in order to be prepared for competitions/showings.You have to be there present ready to go while working your hardest so you won’t let your team down. Personally throughout the week not including weekends, I will typically spend roughly over ten hours practicing. As you can see you need to be very dedicated in dance just like any sport. If you compare dance to any sport like football, dance requires the same work ethic, if not more. “We condition every rehearsal, which includes a six minute plank, three hundred sit ups, fifty burpees, we run laps, and a lot more. We become complete athletes. I have practice for twenty hours a week in order to prepare for the competitions,”. In conclusion dance requires the same commitments as any other sport
I have been a dancer since the age of 3. My earliest memory of dance was when I was too terrified to go on stage during a recital and I refused to go on no matter how much they tried to push me. Up until the age of about 12, dance had been just a hobby or an extracurricular activity. In fact, I didn’t even enjoy going to dance. I didn’t have friends there and I wasn’t that good of a dancer. It wasn’t until I participated in Dance Bermuda’s summer dance intensive in collaboration with the American Ballet Theatre in 2012, that I realized that I had a passion for dance. At the program, I was exposed to other dancers that were my age and older and most of them were much more advanced than I. So to avoid being the worst dancer in the program, I took to YouTube and watched hours and hours of dance videos. I researched all the ways to improve my ballet technique. I can remember trying to practice my pirouettes in the kitchen and falling onto the table and knocking a whole bunch of things over. I was determined to be as good as the other girls in the program. By the end of the two weeks I was fired up, motivated, and ready to get back to class after the summer.
Although I am not a great dancer by any means, I learned through my years of involvement in dance that if you want something you should not let any hardships stop you. This message is what helps push me toward success in my educational
With each class attended, the dancer gains that much more strength. To a dancer, strength is not how much weight one can lift, but how strong one's leaps, turns, flexibility, and control is. Endurance, physical stamina, and strength are what dancers need in order to make their performances look effortless. Since competition is such a big part of sports, dance too includes competitions.
Although, dance requires some natural skill it also requires dedication. Natural ability and talent will only get dancers so far. Dancers must work hard and persevere. Dancers give years of their lives plus their sweat, tears and sometimes blood to have the honor and pleasure of performing on stage. Dance takes dedication, commitment and passion from the dancer. The only one who can stop you from reaching your dance goals is you! Practice, persistence and determination pay off. Dancers that dedicate themselves countless hours every day, week, and month to become more confident and have more toned dedication and skill. So clearly, there is a question in people's minds about whether dance is a sport or an art. The dance community consists of many different factions and styles. You can dance at a club for fun, as a hobby, as a serious passion, or you can dance as a career. To be able to dance well, one needs to have flexibility, strength, stamina, endurance, and a love for what they do. I can see why people think that dance is not a sport. I know we make it look easy, but as many people don’t know, it’s really quite difficult. When you really take a look and see how many things football and dance have in common, you will see that dance truly is a sport. Dancers work just as hard as any football player in the United States. To conclude my thoughts my favorite quote in the world, “If dance were any
I had my first dance recital on the day I turned four. Now I don’t remember anything from that day, but I believe that that day is when I learned I loved to perform. I’ve been taking dance lessons since then, and many things that I do now involve performing in some type of way.
To many, dance is only an art. In reality, dance is much more. It 's an art, a sport, a way to express one’s self, a way to exercise, a way to get feelings out. Since the beginning of time, humans have used different types of dance to express themselves. There are many advantages to dancing, however there are also some disadvantages. Dance is one of the most physically and cognitively demanding sports.
