The Rise of Barbasol Shaving Cream The laughter filled the room as I ran through the house running away from my uncle who was close behind me. I thought that I finally escaped from him but as soon as I turned around I was blasted with shaving cream that placed a thick, fluffy layer onto my clothes. I knew from then on there was going to be a revenge fight with the famous barbasol shaving cream. Later on that day, he decided to take a nap and did not worry about anything that happened earlier that day. I knew this was the perfect time to get revenge and cover him in shaving cream like he did to me. I tiptoed into my grandparents bathroom and carefully opened their linen closet. There was five aerosol cans of barbasol shaving cream that were all different types. I decided to choose the extra moisturizing shaving cream to use on my uncle. After I made my decision, I closed the closet door as quietly as I could and then tiptoed back out to the living room where my uncle was curled up on the couch. I sprayed the shaving cream into my uncle’s hands and it foamed over onto his stomach. I grabbed one of my grandma’s cat’s toys that had feathers on the end of it and began slowly tickling his nose …show more content…
In 1931 barbasol shaving cream was also widely advertised on the radio by Harry Frankel, a former vaudevillian, who decided to make himself “Singin’ Sam, the Barbasol Man.” Frankel sang a catchy song about Barbasol shaving cream that captured the attention of both men and women to purchase the new and improved shaving cream. The song included lyrics explaining that there was no brush, no lather, or no rub-in needed to use Barbasol shaving cream (Green). The new brushless shaving cream has continued to grow over the years and new innovations have been produced by the

Everything started off in Steven’s 8th grade English classroom. The topic of the day was, “The most annoying thing in the world.” So evidently, Steven wrote about his younger brother Jeffery. Jeffery was his perfect little brother; white teeth and perfect blond curls. Jeffery idolized Steven and wanted to be just like him, which lead up to the “Dangerous Pie” incident. Steven’s biggest rule with Jeffery was to never touch any of his drum stuff. But one tragic day, Steven came home to Jeffery “cooking” “Dangerous Pie” with Steven’s special drum sticks. But even after, Steven woke up early with Jeffery one morning, and being the caring brother he is, decided to make Jeffery his favorite breakfast “moatmeal.” Steven’s mother told him to never let his little brother stand on the stool
The company additionally makes the smells of bath soaps, deodorants, and floor wax. Billy is coming home from work one day when suddenly he hears some dogs up the street fighting. He goes to check it out and finds them picking on a redbone hound. He saves the dog and cares for it through the night. It reminds him of his childhood. When Billy was ten years old he lived on a farm in the Ozark Mountains of northeastern Oklahoma. He wanted two good coonhounds very badly, he called it “puppy love”, but his papa could not afford to buy him the dogs. For many months, Billy tries to content himself with some rodent traps his papa gives him, but he still wants a dog. Then one day he finds a sportsman’s catalog in an abandoned campsite. In it he sees an ad for good hounds, at $25 each. He decides he wants to save $50 and order himself two hounds. Billy works hard, selling fruit and bait to fishermen, and gathering fruit that he sells to his grandfather at his store. Finally, he saves enough money and gives it to his grandfather to order the dogs for him and asks him to keep it s secret. When a notice comes that they have arrived at the mail depot in the nearby town of Tahlequah, they decide to go into town the next week. That night Billy decides he can not wait any longer. He packs himself a little food, and heads of for town following the river through the woods. He walks all night, and finally reaches town in the morning. The people in town laugh and stare at the young hillbilly, but it does not bother Billy he is there on a mission to get his dogs. He finally collects his dogs and walks back out of town with their small heads sticking out of his bag. Some schoolchildren mob around him and knock him down, but the town sheriff rescues him. The sheriff is impressed with Billy’s determination, and says he has grit. That, night Billy camped in a cave with his two puppies. They wake up in the middle of the night to hear the call of a mountain lion. Billy builds a fire to keep them safe, while the bigger of the two dogs, the male, barks into the night air.
Murder is an inexcusable crime that deserves harsh penalties when committed. In the short story, “Just Lather, That’s All” by Hernando Tellez, murder as a means of revenge is unjustifiable. Murder as a means of revenge is unjustifiable in the short story "Just Lather, That's All" because the barber is too proud to kill, the barber has a risk of being executed, and the barber is not a killer. All in all, murder is an unforgivable crime.
Arriving at Lacey’s house I walk to the backdoor letting myself into the house. An overhang light illuminates a garbage barrel, its lid is shaped like a clown’s head. A little boy staggers away from the spinning tea cups and clutches the clown’s cheeks. He puts his face in the barrels great open smile. Flush. A strawberry snow cone and half a corn dog spray out through his mouth and nose. The face eats what the little boy feeds it. It receives. Little boy gives. His face is turning red now, his nose running with snot and vomit while his eyes water up and bulge out. Seconds turn into minutes and finally he is released from the experience. The little boy overhears his dad lecturing a carny who had witnessed the event. He says “that foam reminds me of the last time I drank Guinness. I spent the night with an Irish whore in Belfast and woke up in a state of sleep paralysis. I puked on my own face until I almost drowned. Lucky the whore woke up or I’d be dad for sure.” “Did you say dad?” asks the carny. “Oh, did I? Ha, I meant
...y brother and took the dog out. I jumped into the shower and did a fast wash. I ran to my bedroom to get dressed and took a quick look at the clock. I had plenty of time. I got dressed, and I even changed my shirt twice because I could. I went down for breakfast and the coffee was ready. But, I was alone. My heart started racing. In my hurry to get ready, I did not notice that my mom and brother were not up. “Oh no”, I thought. I dashed to my mom’s room and yelled, “Get Up, Get Up!, you need to hurry or I am going to be late for school.” My mom looked at me and said, “Why are you in such a big rush today, when normally I cannot get you to open your eyes at this time?” I yelled, “Hurry or I am going to be tardy and get suspended.” My mom just smiled and pulled the covers over her head. As she did that, I could just hear her say, “Trace it is Saturday.”
It is time, at last, to speak the truth about toxic chemicals behind personal care and beauty products. The daily products of an average person consists of face wash, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, floss, toothpaste, and deodorant. Surprisingly, all of these products listed contain toxic chemicals that are harmful to our body. If we use these products to maintain our hygiene, does that mean we are not clean without these products? For example, a common shampoo many people use is Head and Shoulders. However, do we know if the shampoo is cleaning our hair from beginning to end or is it damaging our hair? How often do you read the ingredients labeled on your personal care products and wonder if they are safe to use? More importantly, if you
Then the phone rang and Dad answered it. It was hard to tell what the conversation was about, it did not last long and Dad didn’t say much. When he hung up he was quiet. Then Mom asked, “Who was that, honey?” Blunt and to the point he said, “Grandma,” (his mom) “Grandpa got sick last night.” Suddenly I was not hungry any more. “What’s that mean?” Mom asked, taking the words right out of my mouth. Dad did not really know. All Grandma said was that Grandpa got up in the night, went to the bathroom, and then yelled for help before collapsing. She called 911 and an ambulance came and got him. From the hospital in Spirit Lake he was life-flighted to Sioux Falls.
As I finished eating, I heard the horn of my uncle’s car outside of my house, they seemed happy and ready to go. We all left at the same time, heading to my grandparent’s ranch. Once we get there, my cousins and I rushed to my grandfather’s fruit trees. He had apple trees, orange trees, lime trees, among others delicious fruits. As the time passed, lunch time came and everybody was called to eat. One of my uncles knows how to cook, and since he was in charge of the meat, he knew what to do to make it better. I remember the taste of that meat, it was delicious and everyone love
