“ Banner In The Sky” written by James Ramsey Ullman was first published in 1954. The story occurs in current day Montana. The story is told in third-person omniscient as told by Rudi Matt, Franz Lerner, Captain John Winter, Emil Saxo.
There are six chief characters, the first chief character is Frau Matt; she is Rudi’s mother. The second chief character was Teo Zurbriggen; he works at the hotel as a dishwasher. The third chief character is Joseph Matt, he is Rudi’s dad, who died while climbing the Citadel. Although, they weren’t the main characters in the story, they played an important role in the plot.
The story begins when Rudi was forced to work at the hotel as a dishwasher. However, he still loves to climb mountains and his goal
was to climb the Citadel in honor of hid dad, Josef Matt, who died climbing the Citadel. While working at the hotel, he sometimes secretly escapes to climb the mountains. On one special day, Rudi secretly escaped the hotel to visit the Citadel. Surprisingly, when he is up in the Citadel he meets and save Captain Winter’s life. Meeting Captain Winter let Rudi climb the Citadel. Rudi climbs the Citadel with the help of Captain Winter, Emil Saxo and his uncle. Finally, Rudi gets his Banner on the Citadel. The Citadel is now conquered. Now that the Citadel is conquered everyone is happy and his mother and uncle are very proud of Rudi. After conquering the Citadel, Rudi became a more responsible and young man. The book, “ Banner In The Sky” appears to be subjective. In the story, the author writes that Rudi is determined to climb the mountain. He states how Rudi leaves work early just to go comb mountains. The author is trying to prove a point that Rudi is determined and is courageous. The author always finds a way to prove to the readers that Rudi a responsible and determined person. Sometime he writes it in a indirect way, sometime in a direct way. These are the proof that the book appears to be subjective. This book caused only a few emotions in me. I was in full of joy when Rudi climbed up to the mountain and hanged the banner, it was a victory to him and especially his father who died climbing that mountain. When Rudi got to the top, I felt so happy and i was glad that Rudi got to the top of the mountain with all the pressure he went through. I thought he wouldn’t make it because he was struggling a lot when he was in the coldest part of the mountain, where his dad died. I did not learn anything new in this book. I was also made more aware of the geography of the book when, it said, “ The Citadel is located in current day Montana”, this made me realize that the Citadel is a real mountain. The characters seemed believable. I could relate to them because I am trying to purse my goal of being a doctor. I especially liked Rudi, because he is always trying to pursue his goal and proof to his mother and uncle that he is able to climb mountains. The story had a good theme because it made me realize that “ Working to pursue your goals will allow you to achieve your goals.”
The rising action of the story was when he would find friends and they would help him to realize certain things about himself. The biker that he met helped him get started on stars. One of the maids that he met on his trip had shown him kindness and through this, she taught him that u can always have a fresh start or second chance at life as long as you try hard enough. And the artist that he met at the ocean helped him learn that u shouldn’t always judge a book by its cover, there might be more to someone than you think.

Many people have life changing revelations in their lives, but very few people are as young as Jared when he realizes what he does about his life. Ron Rash wrote the short story, "The Ascent," about a young boy's journey that brought him to have a significant revelation about his life. In the story, Rash uses a naive narrator, foreshadowing, and imagery to show the setting of the story that led to Jared's revelation about his life.
The themes explored in the novel illustrate a life of a peasant in Mexico during the post-revolution, important themes in the story are: lack of a father’s role model, death and revenge. Additionally, the author Juan Rulfo became an orphan after he lost
The story begins with Titas birth prematurely when Mama Elena was chopping onions. There are a few minor characters in the story. There’s Clarisse and there are the firemen. The firemen are only mentioned to give you a better perspective of their world. They are very obedient and don’t seem to have minds of their own. Their personalities are not shown and they don’t really play a significant role in the novel. Clarisse, however, is a big player. She is the reason that Montag decides to quit and print books instead. She is used to get things going and ignite the rebellion, but she is soon killed off. So, she doesn’t have a big enough role to be considered a major character. Most of the minor character4s are there to show contrast with some major characters. This way, you have a better insight as to who they really are.

The main characters of Measure For Measure are Lord Angelo, Duke Vincentio, Isabella, Claudio and Lucio. All five characters develop the plot but not fully, a few other characters such as Escalus, Provost, Friar Peter and Thomas, Elbow, Pompey, Mariana and Julietta. All of these characters create the twisted, plot of Measure For Measure. Without all of the characters the plot of the play would not be as interesting, the play would be short and non-eventful. The main characters all change towards the end of the play from being the good guy to the bad guy and vise versa, this is what helps develop the play's plot.
The leading characters in this book are Ralph, Jack and Piggy. The other boys are mentioned often but most of it is about those three boys. Ralph and Jack are both "leaders" but in different ways, they are not so clever but it is always their ideas that the group use. That's because they are so "loud", everyone listen to them.
There is a large cast of characters including the priest Sarastro (a very serious, proselytizing basso), the Queen of the Night (a mean, angry, scheming coloratura), and her daughter, the beautiful and courageous Pamina. There is the handsome hero, Tamino, on the quintessential road trip, and his cohort in misadventure, the bird seller, Papageno. Papageno ultimately finds his Papagena (who starts out disguised as a crone), Tamino ultimately wins Pamina, Sarastro presumably wins a passle of converts, and everyone goes home humming the catchy Mozart melodies. It is all presented in a plot complicated by a dragon, a threesome of warbling ladies in service to the Queen of the Night, another threesome of boy-angels, even a bully - Monostatos, guard for the Queen. It is lightened by such elements as locked lips, charmed animals, and, of course, a magic flute.
Although there are many strong women characters in the film, we will consider the major two primary characters – the Wolf Princess and Lady Eboshi for analysis.
In this Essay I am going to explain and talk about the two short stories known as “The-Thirty nine steps” it’s a book that has mystery, adventure and action in its content.
